Altonor is the (known, as Zairith doesn't seem recognize the alias) name of the 'Mysterious drow in mithral armor'. His identity was revealed to the Vigilant Guardians by Pellan'zyne, and the Guardians met him in person a day later. He is indeed almost never seen without his suit of mithral full plate armor, and wields a mercifully-enchanted scimitar Skybreaker (which Miron found out the painful way). The black-colored pegasus, Kep'salion, is his called mount from the Upper Planes.
As a founding member of the Sun Raiders, Altonor wants to liberate his kind from both Lolth and Orgolloyss, but more than that, he is a free spirit always looking for danger and excitement (as described by Pellan'zyne). To that end, Altonor actually crusades in the open around Akellon, always seen near or during the times of monster outbreaks and other calamities, but rather than being the cause as some assume, he is actually fighting such things as a protector of the people who don't even know what he's really doing. He also has a penchant for mischief, and delights in confounding the Leaden Mace Society, especially the Braxton Falls branch. Currently, he is involved in combating an outbreak of fiends in the northern town of Yoriver, claiming that the local government has gone mad with tyranny, and is assisted by the Mace branch.
Miron attempted to collect detritus from Altonor's campsite for the purposes of scrying and spying on him, but Altonor heard him coming and Miron and the Mace inquisitor (Aldwin Geas) with him were dispatched and captured, leading to an extremely embarrassing snafu as the rest of the Vigilant Guardians had to come to collect their wayward member. Despite the incident, he is remaining in contact with some members of the Vigilant Guardians.
Altonor and Viceth are very close friends, referring to each other using the Elven phrase "toror'amin" (my brother). He has an adopted daughter, Masabel, and a number of other young Raiders look up to him, including Kelinyon.
