Overview

Barbarus is a Catfolk rogue, and a player character. He is young, impulsive, and a bit cowardly, from what has been seen so far in game, and his sense in fashion is macabre at best.

History, Physical Description, Personality

Barbarus was born as the elder of a set of twins, in the Rolling Cloud Catfolk tribe. Unlike many other Catfolk twins, Barbarus and his brother Tabris took sadistic pleasure in making themselves more alike and forcing their immediate family, and the Tribe at large to tell them apart. Naturally, they were prone to mischief, playing pranks, and causing havoc for the bulk of their childhood, and well into maturity. When it came time to choose their professions, Barbarus elected to become a leatherworker/butcher, becoming one of the few in the tribe to do so, given the great love the Rolling Cloud have for their livestock. His brother became a Herbalist, producing medicine and treating injuries. They frequently changed places, taking on each other's duties for up to a week at a time. This became markedly less frequent when Barbarus' brother married, and the two were considered possible candidates to fill the roles of Medicine Man and Huntmaster. The two swapped places regularly, until an unfortunate incident where Barbarus' sister-in-law mistook him for his brother, and well…don't think about it too hard. Shortly thereafter, Barbarus, still in the guise of his brother, took advantage of a Medicine Man swap with another caravan to travel far south, which he expidited when rumors of his sister-in-law becoming pregnant began to circulate.

Like the majority of the Rolling Cloud tribe, Barbarus is very cougar-like in appearance. Short, tawny fur, with a lighter shade from his chin down across his pectorals and stomach to below the waistline; as well as black patches of fur on both cheeks, close to the nose from which whiskers sprout. He is short and muscular, but not ungainly like a Dwarf, or spindly like a Gnome; his feline tail and digitigrade feet provide excellent balance. Barbarus, as a lifelong prankster, has a multitude of different disguises at his disposal, but his standard outfit is a combination of the Rolling Clouds traditional garb for Medicine Men/Women and Huntsmen. A white, loose long sleeved shirt, with portions cut out to show the shoulders where a depiction of a skull is exposed on the right, and a tree on the left; covered by a jacket of intricate straps and belts attaching leather and cloth armor reinforced with bone studs and struts together. Trousers made of similar leather, ribbed with…actual ribs, from a variety of animals running down the outer legs, with scapulas armoring the inner, held up by a cord of leather running through a set of vertebra to form a belt. Fluffy tail is adorned with two bone decorations, one black, and one white, the white close to the base, while the black closer to the middle. A necklace of fangs wraps around his neck, with the complete lower jaw of a wolf serving as an amulet, and twin earrings made from leather looping through the eye sockets of small bird skulls. Hair is kept short, only two locks hanging down to his chin from his temples, laden with white bone beads looking remarkably like vertebrae, ending in wolf fangs. Feet are wrapped thoroughly in cloth to simulate plantigrade shoes.

Barbarus is very peppy, like most catfolk. Playful, mischievous, though never intentionally mean. His prankster past continues as a shadow into the present, so expect to wake up bald or floating downriver on a raft if ever you appear boring or irk him intentionally. Barbarus is open-minded, and often disrespectful to anyone and anything. However, he plays by the rules by and large, believing rules either mean something or they don't. However, whether they mean anything to -him- is open to debate.
