Darach Boltek is the youngest son of the main family of the Boltek clan, a minor Arcanist clan in Kogoruhn. As such, his natural talent for wizardry was both expected and encouraged. His choice to pursue the path of the Necromancer was a slight surprise, but not a major issue, as the Clan had some ties to the Church of Wee Jas.
His induction into the local branch of the Ruby Order was simply an expected event from there. His successful record as a field agent brought his name up as a candidate for promotion, but he declined, feeling that he was not ready to become an officer yet. His superiors expect him to be a highly useful asset to the cause when he does accept a commission, and have sent him to Greyspire to teach 'Ethical Necromancy' in an attempt to get him used having a speaking presence and being responsible for a group. He is rather less then pleased with this decision, but does not argue it.
