Dragon broth is a spicy beverage made by catfolk tribes on the Falaris Plains. Despite the name, no parts of any dragon are used in the production of the drink; its main ingredient is the berry of a plant called drakesbrush, which is related to allspice. The drink itself has a color much like beef broth and posesses a smoky, vaguely fruity flavor… that is, before the spice kicks in. When it does, it has been compared to drinking liquid capsaicin! The drinker often feels like his/her mouth is on fire, hence the name.
Bizarrely, the drink does not have these burning effects on those with dragon blood. They say it tastes rather warm and smoky, but not spicy. It does have a tendency to amplify the breath weapons of fire-breathing dragon kin in a small way, however.
Different people have different tolerance levels for dragon broth. It is often used in catfolk tribes ceremonially to celebrate the coming of age or a successful hunt.
