Flint Carthan is a Castleton native and a member of the Leaden Mace Society, an order of concerned Kellons who prefer to bring the fight to the dark forces of the world rather than sit back and wait for them to strike. In Flint's case, he focuses on the undead and those who bring them into the world, though he has also displayed knowledge of techniques for hunting other types of malicious spellcasters.
Flint is a rather forward individual, valuing clarity of communication over social games and graces. This attitude tends to put people off, but if you can get past that, it's quite clear that Flint knows his business very well. He isn't much for obscure lore, but knows a great deal of practical knowledge regarding necromancers and their creations… including the Blackskull cabal, which the Vigilant Guardians are currently attempting to rout. While he can recall the weaknesses and strengths of various types of undead with ease, however, Flint has absolutely no head for names. In order to remember anyone's name for pretty much any length of time after meeting them, he needs to use a mnemonic; in most cases, it's an associated word beginning with the same letter or letter combination as the person's name. (For example, Thomas the Templar, Sszeyl the Stoic, and Miron the Mace.) It's this trait that has led his fellow witch-hunters to jokingly call him Flint the Forgetful, a moniker he takes in stride… though some jest that without this nickname, Flint would forget his own name.
Aside from this memory-related quirk, Flint is most easily recognized by his hat, which he is almost never seen without. The hat has led to many nicknames both in and out of game, as players refer to him as "the haberdasher" and Barwick Henderson (son of the owners of the Clear Vial potion shop, where Flint is a frequent customer) simply calls him "Hat."
He has a noticeable habit of hiding injuries from healers. Whether this is due to pride standing in the way or attempting to maintain some form of independence by treating said injuries himself is up for debate. Either way, it has a tendency to vex said healers to no end.
Flint's animal companion is a mongrel dog named Smoke. His birthday is Moradon 6th.
