1. What is your character's full name?
Mablung Meneldur, Elvish for Blue Comet.
2. What is your character's favorite food? What are their tastes usually like?
- Scarlet- Honey cookies!
- Melanie - Vanilla.
- Desmond - Is a robot.
- Darach - Anything grilled properly. He mostly likes grilled/roasted meat, with beef being at the top of the list. He's also fond of mutton, and a interesting little dish made with tomatoes and cheese. His relatives-adopted or otherwise- came up with it to get him to actually eat tomatoes.
- Green Asp - Steak. The better cooked the better. And 'tastes' are something non-murderers worry about. He prefers weapon choices and vantage points.
- "Spitfire" - practical food, not too fancy or overly dressed up. Stew, steak, mince, 's all good. Much like Kepler. But with better table manners.
- Mablung - Venison, cooked medium rare. Flavored with various herbs and spices.
3. Get inside your character's head a moment. Or, rather, their preschooler head. If they could do anything and be anyone in the world, what would their dream self be? Reality need not apply; if your character's greatest fantasy is to be a treant that grows fruits that ripen into fluffy bunnies in the fall, more power to them.
- Green Asp - The leader of an assassin guild. As I'm working to be. Dreams are for fools who cannot live in the real world.
- Melanie - A wolfrider, archmage, and she would love to be a rolemodel that can openly be tiefling for others down the line to look up to and aim for, and to help be a signal that they aren't all bad, so maybe a village doesn't just up and kill one born unluckily.
- Scarlet - "I wanna be a butterfly angel princess who knows how to cook!"
- "Spitfire" - "A DRAGON!" 83 - the response being stunned and amused silence.
- Mablung - Why, a warrior that would make his adoptive father proud of course!
Aegis - "It might be nice to be a bard. To walk this world and see its wonders, unfettered by duties and beholden only to wanderlust and chasing legends. To master expression, harness stimulation, and embrace adulation. To wallow in the very essence of what it means to be a mortal, living wantonly and selfishly and carelessly, basking in the axis around which the rest of the multiverse revolves.
… Alas. Someone has to clean up after them."
4. How old is your character? When is his/her birthday? Is their "birthday" the actual day they were born, or do they have a date they prefer to use as their birthday instead (due to adoption, special circumstances, etc.)?
~26-27ish. Actual date is hard to be sure without knowing the exact starting year. I don't think he's the sort to celebrate it though.
Probably some time in early/mid Bahamon. I generally only ever bother with putting down a number.
Sometimes, not even that. Heck, Kepler's still got '?' on his character sheet. |3
43 years old. His actual birthdate is unknown to him, so he celebrates the day his adoptive father found him; the 8th of Moradon.
Scarlet is 19 years old, and was born in Cuthon 3rd (1202 or 1203 CA) under a blood moon, when the veil between the forces of evil and the prime plane are at it's weakest.
5. Since we seem to be starting in Greyspire, what brought your character to the academy city? Is he/she a student? Teacher? Traveler? Trader? Guest lecturer? Family of someone studying there? None of the above?
Mel is a teacher of history. She teaches while she does her research on where to go next for archeological digs, and tries to get kids to sign up for "special classes" to help on digs. At a premium rate for the class.
'Guest lecturer' is probably the simplest way to put it. Dealing with strategy, tactics, and swordsmanship, Dan's a Stern Teacher who demands nothing short of the absolute best his students can manage.
This is definitely not the real reason he's in Greyspire. But that should be obvious.
Scarlet wants to continue and perhaps finish her apprenticeship! Or study the culinary arts from the masters in a proper course/degree. However, she also needs money to do either, so she's probably also looking for work in the city.
She was apprenticed to a local baker in Pauper's Mill; nothing prestigious, just learning the trade.
Field Operations branch of the Ruby Order. He was originally working on tracking down some Wights, but got assigned to Greyspire as a Guest Lecturer on Ethical Necromancy. He is remarkably Unamused by that, but is sucking it up and doing the best he can.
Mablung is just following Scarlet, more or less. He's keeping an eye out for work, but doubts there will be much call for a Tiefling Monster Slayer in a city devoted to collegian pursuits.
None of the above.
'Desmond' has bobbled along on the fringes of Mablung and Scarlet's travels, as is his wont, taking in the world around him. Observing a city and culture of this scale is always interesting, but his interest in classes and businesses is cursory. At most, he may be inclined to listen for interesting news; political happenings, disturbances, adventure. It wouldn't be the first time he had found some colorful errand or another to send his companions clambering off towards, and it is not rare for worldbound Inevitables to lend service to legitimate authorities in need. At least, he'll play the custodian while they muck about in city life.
A fugitive posing as a teacher of disguises and alchemy. Surely, the professor with the cajun accent couldn't be a disguised assassin with a thing for poisons.
6. Name three things your character likes, and three things your character dislikes.
Scarlet
Likes - baking, sweets (especially honey), nice people, dogs, anything cute, fluffy or colourful, Uncle Nye, snow, winter, autumn
Dislikes - cacti, flying, heights, mean people, bees that sting
Mablung isn't included in the list of likes? Some sister you are!
Maybe she doesn't just like you. ;)
Darach:
Likes: Libraries, Temples of Wee Jas, other members of Clan Boltek, Cats, Branch Offices of the Ruby Order, New Books.
Dislikes: Nerull, Undead that keep the Soul on this plane of existence, Necromancers who create those undead, Nobles who can't figure out that just because their ancestor did something impressive, it doesn't mean you, currently, are immune to having your face EATEN BY A GHOUL so sit down and let me do my job!
Dan—
Likes/Dislikes; Weather. Dan's clearly more a fan of cooler climates. This is especially evident during winter, where he can be seen walking around Greyspire in his usual attire, sometimes even without his trademark longcoat.
Likes; Dragon Broth. He keeps a metal flask of it on himself at all times. This only fuels the small cloud of rumours surrounding him. Which is just what he wants.
Dislikes; Insubordination. He can't stand unruly subordinates, even if he himself is something of a maverick at times. That said…
Likes; Innovation. When he leaves details intentionally vague or leaves things up in the air, that means he's looking forward to seeing how you solve the problem set in front of you.
Dislikes; Needless bloodshed. Dan dislikes putting lives on the line, especially those of the people who follow him — though he isn't afraid to commit forces when the time comes, either.
Mablung
Likes: Fightan, especially monsters; Tomi, he looks up to her as an accomplished slayer; Scarlet, that goes without saying; Cooking, he's pretty good at it; Chocolate, his favorite sweet; Smoking, why do you think I have this fancy pipe?
Dislikes: "Uncle Nye," he's trying to warp my little sister fuck that guy; Gods in general, they need to stop sticking their big noses into mortal affairs; Pretty much anyone who messes with Scarlet, fuck them with a rake.
Likes:
-Philosophy. Aegis is extremely prone to waxing philosophical, musing over deeper meanings, or just plain contemplating unusual questions.
-Creativity. Art and music, tales and puzzles. They're very alien notions in the world of Mechanus, but Aegis has rather warmed up to the experience.
-Violence. More due to nature than persona, Aegis has an incredible propensity towards force, destruction, and warfare. Almost every Inevitable is built for an assassination, and subsequently lives to brutally police the world it ended up in. One cannot "spar" with an Inevitable; they have virtually no middle-ground between placid and full-tilt charge. Threaten at your own risk.
Dislikes:
-The anathema forces of chaos. Demons, slaadi, pandemic undead, and quite a sizable pie slice of witless mortals, too. But especially demons. They caused the third, and exacerbate the fourth.
-Biology. Compared to his original surroundings, Akellon is a mucous-slicked Zerg hive seething with larvae. He generally tries to take it on the chin.
-Irrationality. It is very difficult for Aegis to abide someone doing something he perceives as short-sighted, self-destructive, or otherwise foolish. Unfortunately, his perception of short-sighted and irrational behavior may be ridiculously alien and stringent compared to any mortal outlook. Inevitables are not well known for seeing things your way.
