Gnogglebolt Sparkgear is a gnome, born and raised in the clockwork steam-powered country of Mazio.
History
Like many of his countrymen, Gnogglebolt picked up an interest in his country's industry at an early age, and spent much of his childhood and young adult (in gnome terms) life learning the trade. However, he also had an interest in history and the world beyond his country. In his spare time, he studied books on foreign cultures and languages in libraries around Mazio, and made an effort to speak with a foreign immigrant, tourist, or visitor whenever possible.
However, one of the first things he learned of history when he was young while studying it was that the Kellonite gnomes were nearly wiped out in in a war over 120 years ago. This disturbed him, and since then, he's been filled with the idea of aiding his surviving kinsmen, as no one else from his country has made such a serious effort. In his research, he also noticed that Mazio and Akellon were never exactly on the friendliest of terms, even in the modern day.
Gnogglebolt was decided. He would leave Mazio and enter Akellon as soon as he was old enough to leave the country alone. His goal was to gather his kinsmen together, using technology to protect them and ensure their future. At the same time, he would try to spread the knowledge of technology as far across the technology-deficient Akellon as possible, gifting it to the Kellontites as a gesture of good faith, showing them the good that could come from it and hopefully improving relations between Akellon and Mazio.
A short time ago, he finally was ready to leave Mazio. His parents are proud of him, and wished him well on his journeys, that their son can make a difference. He keeps in contact with them every now and then, sending letters to them whenever he's in a town with a postal service, though the fact that he's often on the move and not in one place very long means it's hard for letters to catch up with him (though they sometimes do, with Gnogglebolt leaving enough info in each of his letters for the postal runners to use a switchback method). Still, Gnogglebolt forges on, keeping an eye out for his people, and teaching locals some of his knowledge whenever he has a chance…
Personality
Gnogglebolt is a good-natured gnome, and truly wants to help people with his technology in addition to gathering the Kellonite gnomes. He has a charming and likable disposition, and possesses prodigious intellect, although he can be naive sometimes. He often knows the right words to work with people and reach agreements, and not just because he is decently fluent in a number of languages. When irritated, however, he does have a propensity to spew oaths in several languages at once, favoring rough and vulgar ones.
Skills/Abilities
Gnogglebolt cannot really fight effectively himself, being weak and small of stature, and not terribly quick in body. He is, however, quick in mind, and has a mastery of a wide array of mental skills. He is most versed in various crafting techniques, able to work with a variety of materials, with his greatest focus on the construction of technological devices, as Tinkers go. He is also somewhat adept with words, knowing how to be polite and personable to influence others and win them over. His mutiligual abilities are a great asset here, being versed in Common, Gnome, Dwarven, Auran, Draconic, Goblin, Orc, and Gnoll.
