Jonah Restren was an artist, specifically a sculptor. At some point, he procured a cockatrice from 'a ranger friend in the mountains.' Restren had always held a special fascination with the elven form, and so, he began to use 'Sasha' to petrify elvish clients, as well as many others. He then proceeded to sell the exceedingly high-quality statues to anyone who would buy them for a high price. Restren's victims included Edaric, Aelian, Kethanis Whitebranch, and Kawyn. He was soon stopped and arrested by the Vigilant Guardians, and turned over to the Redtree Militia (after nearly being cooked alive by Tathi). He is currently serving time for his crimes in hard labor.
Before his crimes were discovered, Restren was most well-known for his lecherousness. According to Brenner Fox, he was constantly after "every woman under fifty in Redtree." (It can be assumed that Brenner was not including Jonah's elven quarry in this.)
As a side note, Jonah Restren has the most commonly misspelled name of all characters in Akellon to date. Common mistakes are writing his first name as "Johan" and his surname as "Restran."
