Maximillian Toris is the eldest of the five Toris siblings (by roughly two minutes), a cheerful, easygoing adventurer and musician. He and his younger brother Brian often butt heads, but they seem to get along, in a teasing, brotherly sort of way. Like the rest of the Toris family, Max wears the sign of Bahamut, but the particularly observant may notice the symbol of Hlal on the back of his medallion. This is a common point of contention between Max and Brian, as Brian feels that having another deity's symbol on the same coin as Bahamut's is not properly respectful to the Platinum Dragon. It has led to several heated religious debates between the two.
Max has displayed a fair bit of spellcasting ability, and has proven himself quite handy with a rapier, as well. He is very close friends with Tharky, who is also his teacher in the bardic arts. He is very fond of glass, enjoying the way that light plays off it, and has picked up some glassworking skills. Some of his work can be seen on sale at the Pearldust.
He also seems to have the ability to breathe fire… at least, as long as there's some fuel and a flame source around. When traveling in the desert one year, he picked up some circus fire-breathing tricks from another wandering entertainer. Brian has expressed some wonder at the fact that his brother still has eyebrows. He may be able to perform such tricks without a fuel source, as well; "Maximillian Toris" is, after all, the human form of the gold dragon Maxissoren.
Max's lair is in the Hills of Gilforen, and is home to a pack of blink dogs and a fire elemental that inhabit and guard the place while he is away. According to him, it was once a purple worm's tunnel, but with twenty-some-odd years of work, it has become a lair worthy of a glassworking dragon bard.
