A soft-spoken, gentle sort of fellow, Richter is the only dedicated archivist in the Castleton branch office of the Leaden Mace Society This thin scholar doesn't exactly match people's image of a demon hunter. At one point, Miron Steelsprocket even decided against taking him along to interrogate two necromancers, musing that "they'd probably scare *him* into informing." (Interrogation 1) How, then, did he end up joining the Leaden Mace Society? The curious need look no farther than his sister Robin Malino, a Junior Inquisitor commonly seen working undercover. The Malino siblings joined the Mace at about the same time, Richter originally joining to try to protect his sister while she did field work. His extensive knowledge of the creatures lurking in the dark quickly came into high demand, however, and a deeply-held passion for investigating the world's mysteries led him to climb the ranks quickly as an archivist.
Nowadays, Richter's duties in the archives often prohibit him from going out into the field on missions, but when he does go, it is often right behind his sister, bolstering his fellow inquisitors with his magics and providing timely insights into the nature of the enemy. His birthday is Moradon 10th.
Richter is often seen with his nose deep in some thick book pulled from the archives' shelves, and is known to occasionally be so engrossed in his reading that he forgets meals and sleeps only when his eyes refuse to focus on the page. The desk in the archives is sometimes jokingly referred to as "Richter's bunk."
Trivia
- Richter is one of two Leaden Mace inquisitors in Castleton who are named after members of the Belmont vampire-hunting clan of Castlevania fame. His namesake is Richter Belmont.
- Richter's summons tend to be on the soft and cuddly side, no matter what he tries to summon. They are just as ferocious in battle as any other summoned creature, however. Beware the celestial Corgis!
