Liatai:Doo be doo, dragging out tokens…
TMG:I, ah, don't have gnogglebolt on me >.>
TMG:Schink! That's his name
TMG:not scrant
Liatai:I'd forgotten, myself, to be honest. XD Scrant was the one in the riddle cave.
TMG:Righto… getting this kicked out.
Liatai:There, that should be all we need. :3 Off we go!
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt wakes up in the morning, and has himself a light breakfast in the inn he stays at. There's plenty of time until midday, especially according to his watch, so he goes out into the morning city
Gnogglebolt:Remembering last night, his first stop is the Temple of Pelor again.
Gnogglebolt:He approaches the temple, walking up the wide setps.
Gnogglebolt:*steps
Priestess of Pelor:When Gnogglebolt arrives, the morning sermon is just wrapping up. There are many humans sitting around in pews and on steps, listening to the words of the clerics.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt relaxes out of the way, just watching most of the people file out.
Liatai:Wise decision. Trying to fight the crowd would require a Strength check. XD
Gnogglebolt:He's in no rush. He just stands outside, letting the sun soak his skin.
Gnogglebolt:With his eyes closed the whole time, he hears for when nearly all the hustle and bustle has died down, then moves to enter the archway himself
Liatai:There are only a few worshippers still sitting in the pews, finishing personal prayers, or perhaps just enjoying a mid-morning nap in the sunlight that illuminates the sun god's temple through the many windows.
Liatai:A few priests and priestesses are milling around, as well.
Gnogglebolt:He approaches the nearest clergy, respectfully bowing as he does so.
Priest of Pelor:"Welcome, son of Glittergold. Did you come for the morning's blessing?"
Gnogglebolt:"Unfortunately, I have not, honored father. I am here on rather specific business, actually." He says.
Gnogglebolt:"I would like to visit the goblin who has been in your care for the last week, just to check on how he is doing, and tell him things he needs to know."
Caswin has connected.
TMG:(oh hiya, spectator x3 )
Priest of Pelor:"Ah, so you are the adventurer who displayed such compassion to the goblin. By all means, you may. Please, come this way."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt follows the preist to the interior of the temple.
Caswin:(What's going on here?)
TMG:(just a mini-session, Gnogglebolt talking to an isolated goblin before rejoining the party)
Caswin:(Cool.)
Brother Mazera:On your way to the sick room where the goblin is, the acolyte Gnogglebolt and Derish met last time they were at the temple approaches and follows curiously.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt bows as they pass. "Greetings again, brother."
Priest of Pelor:"Here you are. Brother Mazera, if you would kindly assist our guest?"
Brother Mazera:"Of course, Father."
Schink:The goblin is drowsing; apparently, beds not sized for humans are hard to find around the temple, since he is still on a bed that seems far too large.
Gnogglebolt:"Schink?" Gnogglebolt says as he steps up to the side of the bed.
- Schink cracks an eye open… then scrabbles a little before realizing who it is. "— Garlspawn…?" (Assume Schink is speaking in Goblin.)
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt speaks in Goblin as well, replying with "Hello again, Schink. I'm just here to visit for a little time."
Gnogglebolt:"I wanted to see how you've been doing. Have humans here been helping you feel better?"
- Schink nods, somewhat numbly. "… They've been okay. For humans, they're not so bad. Better than Dosemz…"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods. "I also have much to tell you. I wish one of your own could, as I think you'll have a hard time believing me, but you must know before the trial."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt leans on the bed. "First, and this should be easier, the Redmaw are no more. You are now a Swiftaxe. Grapmak is the leader again."
- Schink 's ears droop. "… Redmaw's really gone, then…"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods. "There is one more thing. This, however, may be difficult for you to believe without seeing it for yourself."
Gnogglebolt:"The Blackswords are no more, too. Many of their number were killed, including Blacksword herself."
- Schink looks stunned. o.o
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt pauses before delivering the second half of this information…
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt takes a breath before continuing. "However, there are -some- still alive. But they are no longer Blacksword, either."
Liatai:Int check - ??1d20-1 = 20 - 1 = 19??
Gnogglebolt:"They are now Swiftaxe, too. With Granch redmaw and Gerta Blacksword dead, the two tribes have become one."
TMG:Huh?
Schink:The goblin's expression goes from shock, straight to utter terror.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt immediately starts chattering. "Calm down, stay calm, don't be alarmed."
Schink:"— No. Nononono, that's not true, it's not true, it can't be true —" The goblin starts to babble a little, panicked.
Gnogglebolt:"Everything is fine. It was a willing agreement of both sides. Grapmak accepted them."
Schink:"— Redmaw never would have — Redmaw's dead — got to get out of here — can't let them catch me —!!"
Gnogglebolt:"they will not fight anymore."
Gnogglebolt:Now Gnogglebolt is getting worried.
Brother Mazera:"Sir? What are you saying to the goblin?"
Gnogglebolt:He places a hand on Schink. "You cannot go anywhere, you have only one leg! Please, Schink, calm down. Look at me. Tell me what's wrong."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt glances to Brother Mazera, switching to Common. "Ah…he is taking some heavy news rather poorly. There shouldn't be anything to terribly worry about, though."
Schink:"— can't get out of here — they'll come back — they'll be waiting — teeth — sharp teeth —" The goblin jumps away from Gnogglebolt's hand, looking like he's on the verge of a panic attack.
Schink:"I don't want to go back to the pens —!!"
TMG:(oh crap! Gotta leave sooner than I thought D: only got another few minute…)
Liatai:I can leave the server up?
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt raises his voice. "Schink! Stop! No one is coming to get you, and you are not going back to any pens!"
Gnogglebolt:"All the former Blacksword are in holding cells under guard, like your kin!"
TMG:(yeah, you can, I'll hop back on when I'm home)
- Schink takes a few shaky deep breaths, trying to calm himself down, though he still looks terrified.
Gnogglebolt:"Look at me. Breath. Be calm."
Gnogglebolt:"You are safe. Nothing is going to hurt you."
Gnogglebolt:"Now I need you to slow down, and tell me what is wrong…"
TMG:(aaand I'll leave here)
TMG:(sorry DX )
TMG is disconnected.
Brother Mazera:(Just so I don't lose this line…) "Sir, if you need one of us to cast a calming spell in order to deliver your news safely, simply say so." The acolyte seems oddly calm despite the situation.
Caswin:Goodnight. See you later.
Caswin is disconnected.
TMG has connected.
TMG:Will be ready to finish this up soon.
Liatai:OK! :D
TMG:And here. Ready
Brother Mazera:"Sir, if you need one of us to cast a calming spell in order to deliver your news safely, simply say so." The acolyte seems oddly calm despite the situation.
TMG:Where we left off…Gnogglebolt had managed to get Schink to stop getting ready to run, and asked him what the problem was…
Gnogglebolt:"Err…right, I'll keep that in mind…" Gnoggglebolt says, glancing at Brother Mazera, then looking back to Schink
- Schink is trying to be calm, but his remaining hand has a deathgrip on the blankets. "— They'll be waiting — they always are — with the sharp teeth and the —" He gulps, trying to get a hold on himself.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt continues talking in a calming voice. "It's okay. You are safe here. Everything is fine. Just breath. Calm down, and tell me what's wrong."
Schink:"— They managed to catch Drit. Drit! And look what they did to him! I'm no assassin! If they find out about the — the missing gold — they'll —"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt blinks for a moment, then lets out a very exasperated breath, and rubs his forehead.
Gnogglebolt:"Drit is fine. He has promised not to harm any of them."
- Schink whimpers. "It's not Drit harming them I'm worried about!"
Gnogglebolt:"Both tribes harmed and killed members of each other, but they are forgiving each other for all that, so they may all survive for the future." Gnogglebolt hears what he says next, and leans a little closer.
Gnogglebolt:"Now please, stay calm. Talk to me. What is this missing gold, and why would they be so mad about it?"
Schink:"It's what they'll do if they find out — it was Blacksword's — I dumped it in the river!"
Schink:"And then I got sick, and — please promise they won't throw me in the worg pens again, I've been there before, I don't want to be there again — but I thought — maybe — I don't know what I was thinking —"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt tilts his head. "So let me see if I understand; you stole some of Blacksword's gold and threw it in the river, and you think they'll hurt you if they find out? And are we talking about Blacksword herself, or the tribe?"
Schink:"I — I don't know. It was in a bag in a tree outside their den…" He does seem to be calming down a little, at least.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt leans back. "Well, I can promise you that you will not go to any worg pens. They don't have any worg pens anymore, their den is abandoned."
Schink:"… No worg pens?"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods. "No worg pens."
Gnogglebolt:Then he hesitates.
Gnogglebolt:"…But they do still have a worg."
Schink:"You sure? You promise? — Oh no…"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt shakes his head. "Do not worry. They are keeping the worg from harming anyone. If it does, then very bad things will happen to them."
Gnogglebolt:"It is here, in the city."
- Schink looks numbly stunned, like someone who has heard too many unbelievable things all at once.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt dips his head. "I know this is hard. I knew you would find this all hard to believe. But you are safe, and you still have time to think about everything."
Gnogglebolt:"….And I might, might be able to get Grapmak and one of the former Blackswords to visit you in an hour, so they may put your mind to rest, and you won't have to wait for the trial."
Schink:"… And they won't bring the worg?"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt has to keep from snorting. "No. The worg cannot and will not be brought here."
Gnogglebolt:"I promise, you will not be harmed."
- Schink looks very relieved about the fact that no worg will be around.
Brother Mazera:"… Sir? Is everything all right now?"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt steps back, sighing. "Yes, I do believe so."
Gnogglebolt:He turns to Broker Mazera, bowing again. "Thank you for allowing me this time to visit him. If it is okay, I -may- be bringing two more goblins here soon to see him as well, for a brief visit."
- Brother Mazera bows back. "I will inform one of the Fathers."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt then heads out of the temple, knowing what he's going to do next. He still has a few hours until midday, anyway.
Gnogglebolt:He heads to the courthouse holding cells to see the rest of the Swiftaxe.
TMG:(you want to play this out now, or go to bed? You did say you have to get up really early >.> )
Liatai:Playing it out later would be better, yes. x3
TMG:Alrighty ^^
Liatai:Doo be doo, saving… :3
TMG:Whee. :3

Liatai:Yay! :D
Liatai:Oh, your smileys are on. :o
TMG:Oops!
TMG:There we go.
Liatai:Righto. Sorry about it starting on the Boot, I was getting some things ready for next session. ^^'
TMG:No worries!
TMG:Anyway…
Gnogglebolt:After talking to Schink, Gnogglebolt heads to the Castleton courthouse yet again
Gnogglebolt:He heads to the holding cells of the courthouse, greeting the clerk again
- Trofim , to prevent plotholes, is still snoring away.
TMG:Ooh.
TMG:Unless Danman jumps in :U
TMG:One moment!
VAE has connected.
TMG:Alrighty!
Liatai:Welcome! :D
TMG:So, before Gnogglebolt arrives
Liatai:Wait a sec.
TMG:I'll let you and Liatai do out Trofim waking up
Liatai:Danman might be loading the Boot. ^^
TMG:because Gnogglebolt left him in with—ah, right
TMG:well, he'll get chatsplosion then. :B
VAE:apparently trofim is still unconscious
TMG:*because Gnogglebolt left Trofim with the guards saying "He's drunk, keep him overnight or until he's sober"
Liatai:VAE, let us know when you've connected all the way. :3
TMG:So you are here now?
VAE:it am
Liatai:Yay :D
TMG:Excellent.
Liatai:Can you see Trofim?
VAE:am waiting here for minutes
Trofim:*bleep* … my head
TMG:(Liatai did say let her know when you were fully connected…)
Trofim:And where's Beridze?
Liatai:I take that as a yes. x3
VAE:oh, what possesions does he have and what does he have not?
TMG:But yes. Last trofim knew, everyone was attacking him. Now he waks up..in what must be an unusually familiar environment. :B
TMG:(Gnogglebolt is not present, only the morning guards)
VAE:Castleton's jail isn't… Lorellon's is
Sallow Drunk Man:"Heh. Whaddya know, he's not dead. Pay up."
TMG:I guess it would have been standard procedure for the guards to confiscate anything on Trofim's person before putting him in the cell? :B
VAE:i know
TMG:(and probably give it back when/if he's let out)
Smarmy Drunk Man:"Hrrrm… remind me never to go drinking with you again… I always end up poorer…"
Liatai:Yep.
TMG:But, I shall not interrupt any further. Carry on. ^^
Sallow Drunk Man:"Poorer, but richer in experience, pal!" The man gives a hacking laugh.
VAE:just wondering.. because stuff like fags or other small personal items are left with
VAE:i was wondering whether Beridze would qualify for one or not
Trofim:*looks around* …bloody filthy *bleep* small bugger
Liatai:Probably not. The guards know what holy symbols are, and don't want to have to deal with a drunk spellcaster. Spell components are confiscated, too.
VAE:haha! clever guards!
Trofim:Better hope they didn't chip him again.. he kept babbling about that tooth for a month
Smarmy Drunk Man:"Hrrm… keep it down, would you?"
TMG:(I must say, I'm impressed Trofim didn't immediately fly off the handle at realizing where he is x3 )
TMG:(but carry on)
VAE:it's sort of a common experience for him now
Fat Guard In Charge:"Well hello again!" the guard says upon seeing Gnogglebolt. "Got any word for the courts?"
Trofim:*spot* ??1d20 = 12??
VAE:did he notice who came in?
- Smarmy Drunk Man wanders off to a dark corner of the cell to ease his headache.
Liatai:Easily, considering Gnogglebolt's not hiding. :3
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt enters the courthouse. "Ah, actually, not yet. I'll know for sure after noon. I'm actually here for something else…"
Trofim:ARREST HIM!
Gnogglebolt:Yup, Gnogglebolt is in plain view at the desk.
Trofim:THE *BLEEP* IS A *BLEEP*ING GOBLINLOVER
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt suddenly jerks around at the voice, and locks eyes on Trofim.
Trofim:*grabs bars*
Visored Guard:"Quiet in there!" growls a guard.
Trofim:He's a traitor!
Gnogglebolt:He sighs and shakes his head.
Trofim:He cooperates with goblins!
Trofim:Is all a fakery!
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt looks at the clerk with a shug and a wince. "Errr…what'd I tell ya. Horribly drunk."
Sallow Drunk Man:"Kid, relax, don't antagonize the tin cans."
TMG:(do I need to roll Bluff? )
Liatai:Yep. x3
Trofim:That bastard! He got me in here!
Smarmy Drunk Man:"Owwww! Keep it down!"
Gnogglebolt:Don't have sheet, but I know my chan bonus and I have no ranks. Bluff: ??1d20+3 = 13 + 3 = 16??
Trofim:You… if something happens to Beridze you are gonna end up even shorter
- You roll to yourself: 1d20+5 => 6 + 5 = 11
Fat Guard In Charge:"I can see that."
TMG:*cha
VAE:4chan bonus XD
VAE:bulshitting +3 XD
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt clears his head for a moment. "Anyway, just need a quick chat with the goblin again for something entirly unrelated. I also have a request regarding them."
Trofim:See? He goes to speak with them!
Trofim:Surely he has information for them!
Trofim:He might try to corganise a rivet.. ribald.. RIOT!
VAE:diplomacy check maybe?
Gnogglebolt:"I would like to take the leader, Grapmak, and one other goblin out for just an hour or so. I want to—" Gnogglebolt glances at Trofim again, then looks back to the man in charge, resolving to ignore the incarcerated human. "I want to take them to the temple of Pelor to visit the one sick goblin who has been staying there, you remember that, yes? Any guard may accompany us as well, but I don't expect any problems."
Gnogglebolt:"Basically a similar deal when I had the two taken out to aid in our stakeout, only this will be for a mere hour, and not outside the city."
Gnogglebolt:"Just a visit, then they'll be right back."
VAE:so , should i roll?
Visored Guard:"Shut up!" the guard snaps, then grumbles. "Got a lot of energy for a drunk."
Fat Guard In Charge:"Hrrm." The guard thinks. "I'm leery of sending out the goblin that's been doing our interpreting for us."
Trofim:See? I ain't drunk! He! He got me here!
Visored Guard:"Sure you're not," the guard says sarcastically.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods. "Indeed, which is why I want to keep the visit as short as possible. And I'm sure the rest of the goblins can keep to themselves for an hour."
Trofim:*bleep*
Fat Guard In Charge:"All right. I'll send Nicholas here along with you."
- Young Guard nods.
Trofim:*bleep*ing *bleep* whose *bleep*ing mother *bleep*ed a dog
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods as well. "Thank you very much. Just need to talk to them first, then the visit will be taken care of."
Trofim:*sits down, back against the wall, nad watches
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt heads to the back, out of sight of Trofim.
Sallow Drunk Man:"Take it easy, kid. Just think, soon you'll be outta here and all you'll have are the good memories of the awesome times that landed ya in here."
Gnogglebolt:"Hello, Grapmak? Are you awake?" Gnogglebolt says in Common as he approaches
- Grapmak is not awake, for once. Drit, on the other hand, is.
- Drit sees Gnogglebolt, looks over at Grapmak, and then lets out a loud whistle. FWEEEEET.
- Grapmak and pretty much everyone within a thirty-foot radius jumps!
Trofim:awesome times… i managed to steal a lie-mage's zombie
Grapmak:"What?! What is it?!" Grapmak jumps up and looks around, speaking in Goblin.
- Drit points at Gnogglebolt. :3
TMG:(…now I'm wondering if a guard starts to eavesdrop without interrupting >.> )
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt rubs his forehead. "Not sure that was entirely necessary, Drit…" he saysd, still in Common.
Gnogglebolt:*says
Trofim:it's all *his* fault… the small bugger… i should have went along with the dog-man
Trofim:he was right, goblin-lovers amount to nothing good
- Drit signs, looking smug.
Gnogglebolt:"Anyway, Grapmak?"
Grapmak:"Yes, yes, it worked, wipe that grin off your face," Grapmak grumbles to Drit in Goblin before turning to Gnogglebolt and speaking in Common. "What is it, gnome?"
Gnogglebolt:"You remember Schink, of course? The one who was sick, and who sadly had to have a whole leg and arm removed?"
- Grapmak nods. Nintrok's ears droop slightly.
Gnogglebolt:"I have gotten permission to allow you out for a brief visit if you wish, Grapmak."
TMG:(and go ahead and have someone respond to Trofim first)
Sallow Drunk Man:"Dog-man? Zombie? Where the hell were you drinkin'?"
Smarmy Drunk Man:"Who cares, just make him be quiet. Owwww, my head…"
- Drit raises an eyebrow and whistles.
Trofim:Dog-man, in a really noisy plate armor
Grapmak:"Hrmm. How much you told him about what is happening?"
Gnogglebolt:"I told him everything. As expected, he had a hard time believing it, and he is very afraid."
Gnogglebolt:"So, I figured you personally telling him would put him to rest."
- Grapmak nods, then looks around at the others and barks in Goblin. "Swiftaxes! I'm going to speak with one of our own. If I hear any of you have started fighting or broken anything without me, I'll break your skulls personally, got it?"
Liatai:Most of the goblins jump and nod quickly. Drit sits back and observes.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt steps back, and actually boserves curiously, wondering if the former Blackswords respond the way the rest do.
Gnogglebolt:*observes
Grapmak:"Dosemz, if the guards ask for anything, you're in charge of translating. But that's all you're in charge of. Clear?"
Liatai:As far as the former Blackswords, the ones that were in the same cell as Grapmak nod. The others are skeptical.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt mentally notes this, and continues on, speaking in Goblin as well.
- Dosemz grumps.
Grapmak:"Dosemz, I didn't hear an answer!"
- Dosemz jumps. "— Erk. F-fine."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods approvingly in Dosemz's direction before looking at the others. "Former blackswords? I am also allowed to bring one of you along for this visit, and I must speak to you about something else as well." He then waits for them to move closer to the bars, if they do
Gnogglebolt:*speaking in Goblin, as well
- Kranik moves closer. The rest perk up their ears, but do not move closer.
Gnogglebolt:"It seems this goblin, Schink, stole a bag of gold from you when you were still two tribes." Gnogglebolt words carefully, using speech that dies indicate they are one tribe now. "He says he found it near a tree that was outside of your den, and he is terrified that you will harm him if you find out." Gnogglebol then continues with;
Gnogglebolt:"What is he talking about, and you wouldn't harm him now, right?"
Gnogglebolt:"He mentioend specifically a fear of being throw to your darkwolves again."
Gnogglebolt:*thrown
- Krunk harrumphs.
TMG:(go ahead and respond to Trofim, if anyojne's got anything tos ay)
Krunk:"That little sneak deserves everything that's coming to him."
Kranik:"Grunch, Ripak, one of you two whack Krunk upside the head for me."
Brap:"Can I do it instead? >:D"
Kranik:"As long as he gets hit by somebody, I don't care who does it."
- Brap baps Krunk on the head.
Krunk:"OW!"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt tenses up, ready to intervene if it goes any further.
Ripak:"… Wait. Gold in a tree?"
TMG:(go ahead and respond to Trofim x3 )
Ripak:"I thought the darkling found the gold in the tree."
Sallow Drunk Man:"… Eh. Where was this bar, man, the bar?"
Gnogglebolt:"Er…yes. Schink said it was at the base of a tree outside your den. And…I'm not sure where my dark elf friend found what he did, but I think he found it within your cave."
Kranik:"… Wonder if… heh. Would explain what happened to it." Kranik turns to Gnogglebolt. "After one of our raids on a human village, I found a sack of gold. Least, I thought it was a sack of gold. Nothing but rocks and a few coins. So I chucked it into a tree."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt scratches his head. "Odd that he was so afraid about you finding out about it, but oh well."
Gnogglebolt:"…Do you volunteer to visit him, and put his mind at rest?"
Kranik:"I would, but someone's got to keep the others in line."
Irka:"… I'll go?"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods. "That will be okay. All you have to do is tell him he has nothing to fear from the former Blackswords."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt looks up as a guard approaches. "Ah, nearly ready." He says in Common.
Kranik:"Irka'll be the best one for that job." Kranik nods.
- Nintrok idly toys with a few pieces of straw, since the guards took his sticks away.
Gnogglebolt:"Alright, we're ready." Gnogglebolt says to the guard. He points out Grapmak and Irka. "Go ahead and let them out."
Grapmak:"Fine. Drit, you're my eyes and ears. Anything goes wrong, I expect a full report. And Slat, your job is to keep an eye on Drit."
- Drit salutes with a smirk.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt walks with the guard and two goblins to the front
- Evil-Eyed Prisoner sneers at the odd group.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods to the clerk as they pass. "We'll be back soon."
Liatai:Hang on, I'm finding tokens…
TMG:(so, er, do the temple on this map, or another?)
Liatai:This map is fine. :3
TMG:Righto.
Trofim:Eat *bleep* and choke, all three of ya!
- Young Guard says nothing, but gives the 'drunk' prisoner a fierce glare. Intimidate - ??1d20+7 = 18 + 7 = 25??
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt waves Trofim off. "Ignore him.." he says to Grapmak, knwoing the goblin must be wondering why one of the people who captured him is now in a cell himself.
Liatai:So, off to the temple, unless Trofim wants to react to the guard giving him a glare to rival Beridze's? x3
Liatai:Also, do you want to play it out, or just say 'it went well, having Grapmak there helped lessen the blow, as well as the fact you picked the meekest of all of the Blackswords to be your messenger from that faction?' x3
Trofim:*Trofim shudders and moves to the back of the cell*
TMG:Hmm. Your choice, I guess :U I'm good for either one. I'm sure Grapmak would have given him a good check over during it
TMG:but othereise, yeah, thats about all that should happen.
Liatai:Yep. :3
Liatai:OK, so back to the jail we go…
Gnogglebolt:And with that taken care of, the four return to the holding cells within the hour.
Fat Guard In Charge:"You were right, that was a quick visit. No problems?"
Young Guard:"None, sir."
Gnogglebolt:As they get near, Gnogglebolt asks Grapmak (in Goblin) "…Hmm. By the way, do you want to stay in the other cell this time, to be closer to the others now?"
- Grapmak raises an eyebrow and considers this. "… Let me get the report from Drit first."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods.
Gnogglebolt:He then accompanies them to the back again.
Gnogglebolt:He speaks up to the guard. "Hold off on putting them in the cells for a moment."
Gnogglebolt:He then steps aside, to let Drit and Grapmak communicate.
- Grapmak signs to Drit, who nods and signs back. Drit makes a gesture to the cell around him, then signs something that Grapmak nods to… and then points over to the cell to the east. Wis check, Gnogglebolt.
Gnogglebolt:Wis check: ??1d20 = 11?? ?
Gnogglebolt:"What did he say?" Gnogglebolt asks Grapmak in Common.
Liatai:You don't need to be fluent in DSL to glean that Drit is describing an argument that took place in the eastern cell.
Gnogglebolt:"Oh dear…did something happen?" Gnogglebolt says as Drit signs agressively.
- Grapmak replies in kind to Gnogglebolt. "That cell good," he says, pointing to the one Drit is in. "That cell… not so good," he says, glaring toward the eastern cell.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt looks up to the guard on duty. "Did you see anything happen?"
- Grapmak says in Goblin to Gnogglebolt; "I might have to take you up on that offer."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods to Grapmak, replying in goblin with "I hope it is nothing too serious, and that you can resolve it."
- Heavily-Armored Guard replies in speech muffled by the massive quantities of armor. "Mff mm fight mffr mrr."
Gnogglebolt:"Er…right."
Gnogglebolt:'Anyway, put this one in that cell." Gnogglebolt says, pointing to Grapmak and then to the eastern cell
Grapmak:"Oh, I'll be able to resolve it, no doubt about that." Grapmak continues to glare into the cell, and a good few of the former Redmaws shrink away with a look that clearly says "oh *bleep.*" x3
Gnogglebolt:"And….erm…" Gnogglebolt looks up to the guard.
Gnogglebolt:"If that onem" Pointing to Grapmak again, "Starts tossing about the others, that's normal, I thinl."
- Nintrok is bombarding Irka with questions about Schink's condition, which the other mystic replies to readily.
- Heavily-Armored Guard nods. Creak, creak, clink.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt goes over and whispers in Goblin; "If they're sorry, I would recommend not going -too- hard on them." Then he pauses. "Though I leave it all up to your own judgement. It is your job, not mine. For once."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods goodbye to Grapmak, and starts heading out.
Gnogglebolt:"By the way…" Gnogglebolt says to the clerk, and then speaks quietly. "What do you think you're going to do with him?" He nods surreptitiously to Trofim's cell.
Fat Guard In Charge:"Keep him until he sobers up, of course." The guard leans over the counter and says quietly, "Though how long it'll take for him to 'sober up' is anyone's guess."
Fat Guard In Charge:"I expect to hear the full story someday, gnome."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt winces. He then realizes that this very well might bite him in the patookie later and—ah, there it is.
Gnogglebolt:He looks around and gets more behind the counter, where Trofim can't see, and gestures for the clerk to lean closer.
- Fat Guard In Charge approaches, looking stern.
Fat Guard In Charge:"I'm a former adventurer myself, gnome. I know what kinds of things can happen. What I need to know is whether it's something I need to worry about spreading to other prisoners or my men. Or if it's something that needs magical assistance to deal with."
Gnogglebolt:Quietly, he says "He's…he's not really drunk. We were at the goblin's den to pick up the rest of them, and, well…he'd always been difficult to handle up to then, but this time, he went off crazier than usual. Might have had something to do with one of those 'lie-mages' he's always ranting about showing up. We had to knock him out for everyone's safety, and…well, figured he could stay here for a day to cool off and be kept out of our heair."
Gnogglebolt:*hair
Fat Guard In Charge:"Hrmm."
Gnogglebolt:Internally, Gnogglebolt is struggling over whether to tell the man the last bit of information, knowing what it might mean for Trofim. Crazy he might be, but he -was- helping the party up till then.
- Fat Guard In Charge will just wait. Patiently. But with a look that clearly says no nonsense will be tolerated.
Gnogglebolt:With the very awkward silence between them, Gnogglebolt shrinks a half-inch under the man's unwavering gaze.
Gnogglebolt:"…Alright. Alright."
Gnogglebolt:Even quieter, he says, "Remember how we captured a necromancer there? Well, naturally, the necromancer had a few zombie minions. I…I don't know how he did it, but during the fight, trofim managed to take control of one of them and turn it to help us. But…"
Gnogglebolt:"…when the fight was over, he refused to let it go." Gnogglebolt then squeezes his eyes shut.
- Fat Guard In Charge listens quietly. for what probably seems like an eternity to Gnogglebolt. Then speaks. "Commanding undead. Hrmm. We were right to take that skull away."
Fat Guard In Charge:"The zombie. It was animated by the necromancer, and taken away by your friend over there. Did he command it to attack anyone other than the necromancer or the necromancer's allies while it was under his control?"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods, almost imperceptibly. "I…he was helping us up until then, and I don't know if he'd ever get a chance like that again, but…what do you think is going to happen to him…oh. No, he did not. At least, not until we attacked him and the zombie to destroy it. It was the body of one of the goblins, and they demanded it be released so he could be properly put to rest. A right natural request, one he had no right to refuse." Gnogglebolt is still speaking as quiety as he can.
Gnogglebolt:"The still living goblins, that is."
Gnogglebolt:"But, no, until then, he did not command it to attack anyone else."
Fat Guard In Charge:"That bodes well for him, then."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods. "Right then, I….I guess I'll leave this up to you, then."
Fat Guard In Charge:"If you or any other members of your party press charges, then he could be facing time in an arcanist's prison. If not, then I can only keep him in that holding cell for 24 hours."
Gnogglebolt:"…If there is a trial, I suppose I'll be able to attend, if I haven't run off later for the reason I may need to postpone the goblin's trial…ah."
Fat Guard In Charge:"In the meantime, I suggest you find your cleric friend some tutelage so that he learns what is proper to do to undead."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt hesistates for a moment, but nods. The last thing he wanted to do was get tangled in magic, but…
Gnogglebolt:"Right then, ah…I better get going."
Fat Guard In Charge:"Otherwise, we'll have to end up charging him room and board." The guard gives a dry smile, combined with a look that says quite clearly 'make it so.'
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt, in good gnome humor, chuckles softly himself as he walks away.
Fat Guard In Charge:"Right. Good luck. And I expect to hear good news when you come back to tell me about the goblins' trial."
Gnogglebolt:"Me too, me too." Gnogglebolt says.
Gnogglebolt:As he heads for the exit, he stops for a moment, and looks at Trofim.
Gnogglebolt:He holds the gaze for only a moment, then briskly walks out the doors.
Gnogglebolt:I did this.
Gnogglebolt:It doesn't seem right.
Gnogglebolt:….I have to take responsibility.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt tries to clear his head, and idles out in the city until midday.
Liatai::3Liatai:All righty then. Shutting down the server to prepare for Meany's mini-session. :D
You have disconnected.
Server started.
TMG has connected.
MeanyOwl has connected.
TMG:Righto, so, What does Sszeyl do before going to the Bronze Boot at midday? :U
TMG:(or finish up that crossword, first >.> )
Liatai:Hang on, he might be loading. :o
Liatai:And I'll get you an audience token, Tech. :3 Snake or spider?
Liatai:(Zairith has several pet spiders, and Lethiriss has several pet snakes. They'd fit right in without a problem on this map. x3)
Sszeyl:This token is so very out of date. :B
Liatai:Well, then, update it. :B
Sszeyl.Token:Hmm.
Sszeyl:There.
Liatai:Tech? :3
Liatai:.. ??1d2 = 2??
Liatai:Audience token will be a snake, then. x3
Sszeyl:Ready to do dis ting?
Liatai:Almost. :D
Liatai:Just getting music and getting in-character…
Liatai:There we go, set vision to Night, since it's about midnight to 2 AM in-game when Sszeyl would be ending his trance.
Sszeyl:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeFuHFc0yVo
Sszeyl:Greenlight? :o
Sszeyl:Any Trance visions this time?
Liatai:A small guest bed has been set up in Zairith's study for Sszeyl's use… a process which involved shoving many books and papers out of the way into the corner. x3
- Sszeyl is laid out, hands crossed over chest, all vampiric.
Liatai:Visions… hmm. Up to you. Nothing specific comes to mind.
Sszeyl:Nah. :B
Sszeyl:So, greenlight?
Liatai:Greenlight. :D
Liatai:Or, blacklight, since it's midnight-ish. >.>
- Sszeyl rises from the bed, all vampire like, and examines this room. "Such a mess. Note to self, clean."
Sszeyl:??1d20+5 = 12 + 5 = 17?? Listen check!
Liatai:Oh, yes. Do you have your character sheet on hand? — Ah. x3
Sszeyl:Thank you, Ghost, for the macro idea. :B
Liatai:You can faintly hear — gah. Hang on. -.- Sacred canine duty.
Sszeyl:'Scool.
Liatai:Brrrrrr. o.o Blustery out there… OK, I'm back. x3 Sszeyl can faintly hear someone moving around in the next room over; quiet footsteps, the sound of paper being moved around…
Liatai:Also, a quiet *thump.*
Sszeyl:"LiNeer made a kill, methinks."
- Sszeyl opens the door, intent on cleaning the main room first.
Sszeyl:"Oh, hello."
Zairith:He isn't alone in the main room. Zairith is sitting at the table, spellbook open, toying with a few small globes of light. LiNeer is chasing one of the globes across the floor.
- Zairith sends one of the globes rolling over to a pile of papers, nodding in greeting.
Sszeyl:"How cute."
LiNeer:*Lies! I am not cute! I am fearsome! >.E … Ooh, shiny. .O *
Sszeyl:"Hmm."
- Zairith smirks. "Better that she chase dancing lights than Lethiriss' pets."
Sszeyl:"Is there a particular rhyme or reason for these recurring piles?"
Zairith:"Somewhat. They provide hiding places for the snakes and spiders." LiNeer peeks out of a pile, swatting at a light globe. "… And occasionally, familiars."
Sszeyl:"I see."
LiNeer:*Was that a joke? I think that was a joke. >.E You're lucky you're providing amusement, master.*
Sszeyl:"Did Tathi have anything more that was helpful?"
- Zairith closes his spellbook, sending a light into a far corner for LiNeer to chase. "Mm. She told me nothing more than what you heard. Though I must ask, young Terror."
Zairith:"How in the gods' names did you convince a wood elf to assist you?"
LiNeer:*Ha-HA! You're mine, light! >.D … Where'd you go. >.O*
Sszeyl:"I told her Lolth and her worshippers were overthrown, and that those that had burned her forest returned to their graves instead of the victory she assumed."
Zairith:"…" Zairith seems to be waiting for Sszeyl to continue.
Sszeyl:"…She believed me."
Zairith:"… That easily?"
Sszeyl:"Because the Drow did not press the advantage they had afterwards."
Zairith:"… That is still one remarkably tolerant wood elf you have encountered, young Terror."
Sszeyl:"To be fair."
Sszeyl:"I was flippant with her about the burning of her forests, so she may have burned up some of her anger."
Zairith:"You were, were you…" Zairith pinches the bridge of his nose briefly, his equivalent of a facepalm.
- LiNeer trots up to Zairith and stares up at him. You haven't been moving those lights around. >.(
Sszeyl:"Quite."
Zairith:"… Well, fortunately for you, she seems to have been quick to forgive such a faux pas…"
Sszeyl:"She was quicker once I told her of th forest situation."
LiNeer:*Hey. Less talk, more light-throwing. >.( Sheesh. Humanoids.*
- Zairith flicks a hand and sends a ball of light rolling across the floor, which LiNeer chases. "Mm."
Sszeyl:"And lent her one of my sai as proof that the trees continue to grow. Hopefully, she'll be interested enough to use the wood to scry the whole forest."
Zairith:"Most clever. It seems Orgolloyss is continuing to teach its students at least the basics of arcane theory."
Zairith:"Is she gifted in the divinatory arts?"
Sszeyl:"From what I've seen, she's a fire specialist."
Zairith:"She may not know how to scry, then. Specialists in one area of arcane magic tend to neglect at least two others."
Sszeyl:"I've enlisted a bard to question the local carpenters, see if that drow woman who was captured brought fellows with the same wood type with her."
Zairith:"A bard?"
Sszeyl:"He likes to play music while people kill each other."
Sszeyl:"By Ezzebek standards, that's a bard."'
Zairith:Congratulations, Sszeyl, that gets a small genuine smile.
Sszeyl::DZairith:"Is this bard a drow, as well?"
Sszeyl:"Human. Who apparently sometimes sports claws on his fingers."
- Zairith adjusts his spectacles.
- Sszeyl brings out his journal, and slides it over to Zairith.
Sszeyl:"A complete recount of the endeavour to capture those necromancers. And the information I've collected since then. With some illustrations."
Sszeyl:"Intend to send this off to Tebryn once its full."
- Zairith reads curiously, which doesn't make LiNeer very happy; since his attention is on the book, the lights wink out.
- Sszeyl fans himself with the tessen.
Liatai:What are the current illustrations in Sszeyl's journal, again?
Sszeyl:The Torris Family, Trak worg rider, the night sky, a rainstorm, and a peculiar type of fox.
- Zairith pauses on the illustration of the Toris family. "… Is the bard one of these people, young Terror?"
Sszeyl:"The smiling male."
Zairith:"… Hmm."
TMG:…are any i tokens showing up on the map? >.>
- LiNeer is eyeing Sszeyl's ponytail…
Liatai:Is that better? :3
TMG:Ah, there we go. ^^
- Sszeyl rolls a sling bullet for LiNeer to play with.
LiNeer:* .O *
Zairith:"I did not know that there were members of that family acquainted with the bardic arts… most unusual."
- LiNeer chases the audience token. >.3
Audience:"Ssssss!" *dives into paper pile*
LiNeer:*Where'd you go. >.( Sniff sniff sniff.*
Sszeyl:"Yes. I was compelled to hand over a number of positively beautiful works of art to them, or risk some grubby merchant who cares more for money touch them."
Sszeyl:"Do all surface dwellers have such a disregard for beauty?"
Zairith:"It is dangerous to make generalizations about any group of people. Even surface-dwellers."
Audience:*Sss Sss. If you didn't like the Toris family and didn't want to sell to a normal mercheant, there -are- actual art collecters who would have paid high price. Sss. *
LiNeer:*Found you! >.D*
TMG:Waht? :3
Audience:*SSSSSS*
Audience:Log pile dive!
Sszeyl:"Very well."
LiNeer:*… No fair hiding in the woodpile. Jumping on that will wake up Lethiriss. >.(*
LiNeer:*Fine. I'll wait. >.E*
- Zairith hands back the journal after reading it.
Audience:*Ss. :P *
Audience:*snaketongue*
LiNeer:*You'll have to come out sometime! >.E *
Zairith:"Have you been able to locate a more drow-friendly source for artistic supplies?"
Sszeyl:"Not presently."
- Sszeyl waves tessen. "And without my zai, I'll need to either rely on this, or find a temporary replacement."
Audience:*Sss Sss. And that gnome fellow offered to accompany you and be your diplomat. Sss. *
TMG:(sorry, if you want me to stop, I'll stop x3 )
Zairith:"Perhaps if your wood elven friend is so inclined to be helpful, she may be able to assist you with that. If she happens to be skilled in the arts of illusion, that is."
Sszeyl:"Not everyone can be as *undercommonphrase roughly translating to ninja* as you, Zairith."
- LiNeer swats at the snake's tail.
Audience:*Ssss!*
Audience:*wait, I'm a burrowing snake. Burrow burrow burrow.*
Zairith:"Perhaps not. But a simple illusion spell should serve you well, if only for ten minutes, if you should be entirely unable to locate a new source."
LiNeer:*Hey! Cheating serpent! >.E *
Sszeyl:"Thank you for the helpfulness."
Audience:*serpent is as serpet does, snaketongue*
LiNeer:*Zaaaaairiiiiiiith, your girlfriend's pets are taunting me again! Can I eat one? Please?*
Zairith:*No.*
LiNeer:*Grr.*
- LiNeer gingerly tries to climb the woodpile to get at the snake.
Audience:*Sssss! Wiggle wiggle slither*
- Zairith watches the cat vs. snake scene idly.
Sszeyl:"I think I may have found an occupation, if I can get these human people to hate me a little less."
Zairith:"Hm?"
Sszeyl:"Caring for children, while their parents work. A little like the Matrons from the monastaries."
- LiNeer prods at various spots in the woodpile, trying to locate the snake.
TMG:*SNRRRK* OHGAWD! xD
TMG:…Sorry. Carry on. x3
Zairith:"… That… may be difficult."
Liatai:Curse you and your deadpan, Zairith! XD
Sszeyl:"I don't doubt that."
Zairith:"… Dare I ask what drew you to this idea?"
LiNeer:*I heard that laugh, snake! I see you! >.D*
Sszeyl:"I seemed to do a moderately well job attending to the human girl, Terri, and the goblin children, when they weren't being threatened by undead."
Audience:8Sss! Franticburrow!*
LiNeer:Move Silently - ??1d20+6 = 12 + 6 = 18??
- LiNeer manages to dislodge the snake from the woodpile without making enough noise to wake Lethiriss!
Audience:*Ssss! Nooooo!*
Audience:*Sss! Cat has caught me! Sss!*
Zairith:"… I am not so certain I would count any member of the Toris family as being a typical human child… Ah, yes. The undead. Were they animated by the Blackskulls listed in the ledger your gnomish friend showed us?"
Sszeyl:"We didn't get to ask because their spokesperson was incapacitated."
LiNeer:*Oh hush. I can't kill you, my master will have a hissy fit. I can carry you around for a bit and play with you, though. >.D Yay, living string!*
Audience:*noooooooo…. Ss.*
Audience:*flop flop wiggle*
LiNeer:*bat bat bat*
Zairith:"Hm."
Audience:*resignation. Play along flop.*
LiNeer:*Good toy! .D*
Zairith:"Might there be anything else you wish to discuss, young Terror? I may need to distract my familiar shortly to keep her from killing Lethiriss' pets."
Sszeyl:"My half serious question as to if any merchants are awake at this hour?"
Audience:*…toothless nip. Cheeky serpent!*
Zairith:"Very few, if any. Most reputable places of business lock their doors shortly after sunset, though taverns operate throughout the night."
LiNeer:*Hey! >.E*
LiNeer:*C'mooooon, Zairith, lend me a spell! I wanna zap this living shoelace into next Nica! >.E*
Sszeyl:"Aww well. I'm going to go find a quiet area to practice my forms, then. Good night."
Audience:*Ssss, Nip nip, No teeth, no venom! Not hurting yoooouu! Ss.*
Zairith:"Good night."
Sszeyl:And scene?
Liatai:And cut. :D
TMG:That'sa wrap, folks x3
Liatai:Sszeyl the babysitter. Really? XD
MeanyOwl:Yes. :B
TMG:I know! XD
TMG:Oh!
TMG:And Ghost is good for a Tathi mini-session, if the GM still has steam. x3
Liatai:Of course! :D
Ghostwish has connected.
TMG:But yeah. I was like "Hu-wwaaaaaa?"
Liatai:Heyo, ghost! :D
TMG:"Gte them to trust you more?" Dude, they'll think you want to EAT their babies!
Ghostwish::>Liatai:Ghost, Sszeyl may be looking into becoming a babysitter. XD
Ghostwish:so it seems. for who?
TMG:Anywone.
Liatai:Humans.
Liatai:Anyone. x3
TMG:Yes, typo, sorry x_x
Liatai:So, Ghost, you wanted a Tathi mini-session? :3
Liatai:Oh! Psst. Meany. Update Sszeyl's HP to reflect a night of sleep. :o
Ghostwish:Sure! :>
Liatai:Where?
Ghostwish:Don't care. :>
Liatai:Arcane District Street it is. x3
Ghostwish:^^MeanyOwl::PMeanyOwl is disconnected.
Liatai:I'll put her in the hostel run by the temple of Fharlanghn to start… unless you have any objections?
Ghostwish:Nope!
Liatai:Map loaded?
Ghostwish:Yup!
Ghostwish:Morning, right?
Liatai:Okay, take it away. :D Unless she's like Sszeyl and wakes up in the middle of the night after a few hours' Trance.
Ghostwish:She'd have spent that time studying her spellbook. :>
Liatai:Morning it is, then. :3
Tathi:Tathi sighed softly, snapping her spellbook closed and carefully binding it back together. Then she reached over and prodded Kor back away, who yawned quite mousily, and scampered onto her cloak as she donned it.
Tathi:She stood up, stretching a bit, before turning about and making the bed, tidying up, et cetera et cetera. Then she headed out, and.. what is it she should be doing? XD
Liatai:Whatever she wants to! It's morning, the streets are bustling.
Tathi:Well, being quite the bookworm she is, she'd likely head for the library for even more research. :>
Liatai:Gnogglebolt and Sszeyl had NPCs to talk to… Tathi's schedule's a bit more open. :B
Ghostwish:A drow! MAGIC MISSILE.
Liatai:… >.>
Liatai:One moment. Fetching the DMG. >:3
Ghostwish:XDLiatai:Urban encounter incoming! XD
Ghostwish:oh gods. XD
Liatai:This is what happens when people don't have plans and ask for mini-sessions. :P
Ghostwish:I didn't ask for one, it was thrust upon me! XD
Liatai:Oh, you didn't? o.o
TMG:Hoboy
TMG:Chatsplosion
Ghostwish:XDLiatai:Well, if you don't want one, speak now, or else urban encounters shall be forthcoming! XD
Ghostwish:Hey, I'm all for encounters. :>
Liatai:??1d20+2 = 19 + 2 = 21??
TMG:I didn't thrust it upon you, i ASKED if you wanted a mini-session o.o
TMG:and…
TMG:Ohhhhh man.
Liatai:… oooooh.
TMG:The Urban Encounter table :O
Liatai:Must think now. >:D
TMG:High roll
Ghostwish:XD!!
TMG:…I gotta look up the DMG myself now to find out what just happened…
Liatai:Who to throw at you… hmmmmm….
Ghostwish:No cheating Tech. :P
Liatai:… I know. >:D
Liatai:Now to just find a token for him…. mwahaha… >:D
TMG:Hey, it's not my encounter. :P
Liatai:You can cheat if you want. I'm going to take a while to find a token. XD
TMG:Hey, Liatai.
TMG:Good thing Ghost didn't roll a 3.
Ghostwish:?TMG:Or there would have been 20 + sessions of a side-campaign :3
TMG:ghost, #3 on the table is
TMG:"pickpockets" ;P
Liatai:XD!!!!!!!!!
Ghostwish:XD!!!
Liatai:… How hard can it be to find a dark-haired noble with short hair? XD
TMG:I do not know o.o did you look through Mapping Objects?
TMG:I'm certain there's a few there…
TMG:at least, noble-looking
Ghostwish:oh dear gods.
Ghostwish:Please tell me the evil DM is not planning what I think she's planning. XD
TMG:….Huh?
Liatai:… What do you think I'm planning? XD
Ghostwish:I DARE NOT SAY FOR FEAR IT SHALL BECOME TRUE.
TMG:Whisper to me.
Liatai:It's not anything Eberron-related, if that's what you're thinking. :B
Ghostwish:Newp. :>
Liatai:Aw, come on. Unless you're thinking something wolfish, you're way off. :B
TMG:He's thinking something I am absolutely certain you will not do. x3
Ghostwish:Wolfish?
TMG:I'm actually surprised at him for even thinking you -would- do it xP
TMG:but, carry on…
Ghostwish:Bite me. :P
Liatai:Hair's the wrong color, but it'll do as a placeholder. BAH. XD
Liatai:OK, now I'm ready. :3
Liatai:Is Tathi wherever she wants to be in the library?
TMG:so, where's tathi?
TMG:ohGhostwish:In the library.
Ghostwish:And yup! She's thumbing through a few books
Liatai:Spot check, considering she's distracted.
Tathi:??1d20+3 = 11 + 3 = 14?? spot, thanks to Kor being close by
Liatai:She spots a human man in well-tailored garb wearing a traveller's cloak enter the library, with a dark-furred wolf easily the size of a worg at his heels.
- Elwick Silverscript turns as the door opens, then quickly hops down from the shelf. "Sir? Sir, excuse me. That wolf will have to wait outsi " He cuts off, eyes widening. " You! What are you doing here?!"
Tathi:She glances at him briefly, but then goes back to her book without a second thought.. that is until the gnome speaks up. Then she snaps the book closed, looking curiously around the shelf.
Reginald Burns:"Searching for reading materials, clearly. Is that not what people do in libraries?"
Elwick Silverscript:"… Bah. Make it quick. And if you must have that creature with you, tell it to take its natural form. There's no place for illiterate animals in the stacks." The gnome does not look happy in the least.
Reginald Burns:"Natural form? Why, whatever do you mean?" The human seems to be quietly amused at the gnome's displeasure.
Elwick Silverscript:"You know full well what I mean, Burns. If that's one of your 'pack members' or whatever you call it, I don't want it in the library in a quadrupedal form."
TMG:Oooooh :o
Reginald Burns:"So, the hybrid form would be acceptable?" The human's smile is cold and somewhat feral.
TMG:I see echos of the last party ^^
Tathi:Tathi quirks an eyebrow at the odd conversation. Lycanthropes, perhaps?
Elwick Silverscript:The gnome pales somewhat. "… You know, Burns, threatening the staff isn't a good way to get service, despite what you may think."
Reginald Burns:The human laughs. "So be it. Though you have nothing to fear from Vladimir. Unless, of course, you wish to press the issue?"
TMG:(by the way, I will need to be going in a few minutes, then I'll be back in about an hour… >.> )
Elwick Silverscript:"… Just get what you need and get out."
Reginald Burns:"Very well." The human heads into the library, wolf trotting at his heels.
- Elwick Silverscript returns to shelving, casting a wary eye down the isle at the man and wolf. "Blasted Strays…"
Tathi:Tathi steps around the shelf, heading for the gnome. "So.. what was that little exchange all about, if I may pry?"
Elwick Silverscript:"Hm?" The gnome looks up. "… I take that to mean you aren't a native citizen of Castleton. Am I right?"
Tathi:"Quite."
TMG:Aaaand time to go. I'll read what happened when I get back :o
TMG is disconnected.
Elwick Silverscript:The gnome looks left, then right… then waves the elf down one of the aisles of books.
Tathi:She quirks an eyebrow, but follows.
Elwick Silverscript:"Do you know anything about the Burns clan? Noble human family around these parts."
- Teeny Earth Elemental stands guard! >:(
Tathi:??1d20+4 = 17 + 4 = 21?? Knowledge Nobility!
Liatai:Tathi certainly does, and is well aware of the fact that they are renowned as being a line of natural werewolves. With that high of a roll, she also knows who that man with the wolf was; Reginald Burns, current head of the clan and rumored leader of an undergound lycanthrope organization called the Strays.
Tathi:"Ah yes, the 'noble' lycanthropes. But, what exactly was your issue with them?"
Elwick Silverscript:"That man and his followers are delinquents and scoundrels of the highest order! It was just three years ago that he and his wolves were tearing up the southern half of the city. I don't want that kind of business in my library!"
Reginald Burns:"Then perhaps you would do well to not spread rumors about your clientele, gnome?" says a voice from the other side of the shelf. Oops. Someone succeeded on a Listen check.
Tathi:Tathi groans, rubbing the ridge of her nose. "It would do you well to whisper if these fellows are so dangerous. And if they are, why has no one driven them out?"
Elwick Silverscript:"It's a mystery to me," the gnome says, now in a whisper. "There was a group of adventurers three years ago who tried, but —"
Reginald Burns:"But they, at least, knew not to take appearances for granted, gnome." The human sounds nonplussed.
Ghostwish:dangit!! I have to go to the store to get something for dinner. :Liatai:Aw >:Ghostwish:I'll be back in maybe an hour or so. Roads are still icy. >
Liatai:Drive safely :o
Liatai:I'll leave the server up.
Ghostwish:kk!
Ghostwish is disconnected.
Ghostwish has connected.
Liatai:Heyo :D
Ghostwish:I return. :>
Liatai:Shall I fetch the last three lines? :3
Ghostwish:Aye!
MeanyOwl has connected.
Liatai:Last three lines…
Liatai:Tathi: Tathi groans, rubbing the ridge of her nose. "It would do you well to whisper if these fellows are so dangerous. And if they are, why has no one driven them out?" Elwick Silverscript: "It's a mystery to me," the gnome says, now in a whisper. "There was a group of adventurers three years ago who tried, but —" Reginald Burns: "But they, at least, knew not to take appearances for granted, gnome." The human sounds nonplussed.
Ghostwish:hrmmmm.
Ghostwish:… poke the dragon in the eye time. :>
Reginald Burns:"Speaking of which, your copy of the third in the Greenwich Halfling Primer series seems to be missing."
Tathi:She rolls her eyes, and calls over the side of the shelf. "Maybe the accused would like to tell their own variation of the story, instead of just eavesdropping and interjecting every so often?"
Reginald Burns:Erk. Replace "seems" with "appears." ^^'
Reginald Burns:"Unfortunately, fair lady, that would take far more time than I believe the elder gnome would be willing to grant me in this establishment."
Reginald Burns:"Though perhaps if you are interested, would you care to hear it at the Fox and Grapes tavern someday…?"
Elwick Silverscript:"This is a library, not a place to pick up women, Burns."
Tathi:She shrugs. "Not terribly interested, unless it's actually an interesting story."
Reginald Burns:"Who is to say the two are mutually exclusive? And pick up women? You wound me, gnome."
Reginald Burns:"More's the pity."
Elwick Silverscript:"The third in the Greenwich primers was checked out yesterday. Was that all you were looking for?" the gnome asks tersely.
Reginald Burns:"As entertaining as it would be to waste time browsing, I'm afraid so. Good day, gnome… and perhaps I may see you later, milady? The offer will remain open."
Tathi:Tathi considers it for a moment, and then glances down at the book she is carrying. "Is this the last in the Wood Magic series you have?" She asks, pronouncing the name in elven.
Elwick Silverscript:"No, we have two more. If you would come this way?" the gnome answers, heading down the aisle.
- Reginald Burns smirks. "Hm. Come, Vladimir." The man and wolf both leave the library.
Ghostwish:well, shoot, I was gonna go for no and have Tathi follow after the wolf guy. Maybe later. :>
Liatai:Maybe. :3
Elwick Silverscript:"Miss, would you mind moving off to the side just a smidgen? You're standing on the trap door."
Tathi:She quirks her eyebrow again as she moves. "Trap.. door?"
Elwick Silverscript:The gnome waves his hand briefly, and a trap door materializes where Tathi was standing. "Most of the advanced arcane texts are kept belowground here. Keeps the bandits and mages who could get themselves hurt with the stuff in them away."
Tathi:"Ah ha, quite clever then."
Elwick Silverscript:The librarian unlocks the cellar door and opens it. "After you, miss?"
Liatai:I don't have a map for this area, but assume it's a large, dry underground room with many rows of bookshelves. x3
Tathi:She steps in, peering about as she does so.
Ghostwish:supper time!! :>
Ghostwish:MEANY. DO SOMETHING.
Liatai:I can send you the transcript of the conversation before you hopped on, if you want, Meany? :3
MeanyOwl:»MeanyOwl:Nah. :P
Liatai:All righty.
MeanyOwl:I only stopped in to see if Burns was as savage as a werewolf ought to be.
Liatai:The savage part hasn't come out yet. >:3
MeanyOwl::BMeanyOwl:Did we settle on a were type for Barbie?
MeanyOwl:Speaking of, could the Barbie get himself a mini session? :B
Liatai:Weretiger, unless I'm mistaken?
Liatai:Sure. ^^
MeanyOwl:Ah yes, weretiger.
Liatai:This is turning into the Night of the Minisession. XD
Liatai:"Blizzard rolling in? Can't go anywhere? There is only one solution to this problem. D&D. >:D"
MeanyOwl::PLiatai:… I wonder what Tech's going to say when he realizes a werewolf noble is looking for the book Gnogglebolt checked out of the library? >.>
Ghostwish:KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Ghostwish:Hi. ^^
Liatai:… Ghost, did you kiss a creeper again? :P
- MeanyOwl swoops Ghost's spleen.
Liatai:Hi. ^^
Ghostwish:yes. ^^
Ghostwish:ssssss-BOOM
Ghostwish:Meany everywhere.
- MeanyOwl spawns as a swarm of kittens.
Elwick Silverscript:"Unfortunately, since some of these are rare, there is a fee for renting books from this collection."
Elwick Silverscript:"For the Saetia collection you were looking for, it would be one silver per book for two weeks."
Tathi:"That's allright. I just wanted to make sure the series was still alive." She says, and smiles down at the gnome. "I was required to memorize the series at the acadamy."
Elwick Silverscript:"Ah, most excellent! Yes, it is quite safe here."
- Teeny Earth Elemental peeks in the trap door. Everything is the okay down there, yes yes? :3 I am free to do the work, yes yes?
Tathi:She smiles, and heads out of the basement area. "Well, I think I shall track that wolfish fellow down, see what his story was."
Elwick Silverscript:"…" The gnome sighs, then locks the trap door when everyone is above ground. "I don't suppose I can convince you otherwise? Werewolves aren't people to be trusted easily. That humanoid form's just a mask."
Tathi:"Well, if he's so bad, why is he still in town?" Tathi asks, looking over her shoulder with a quirked brow.
Elwick Silverscript:"Evicting a noble family isn't the easiest thing to do. Especially one that probably has connections in the underworld."
Tathi:"How'd they get nobility status in the first place?"
Elwick Silverscript:"Ahh, now that is a tale and a riddle all rolled into one…"
Elwick Silverscript:The gnome pulls a book off the shelf and reads a few lines. "Ah, yes. There we are. Crevor Burns, back in 584 CA. Former adventurer who settled in town, successful merchant, lots of kids, gave a lot of money to the preservation of local forests, which got them in good with the druids, I can tell you that."
Tathi:"Sounds like they're living off an ancestor thus far."
- You roll to yourself: 1221-18 => 1221 - 18 = 1203
Elwick Silverscript:"Did well as guides and held onto good relations with the druids up until 1203… that was the Lycanic Inquisition here in Castleton. Inquisition raid confirmed what people had thought for a while, killed off a good number of the clan members. Of course, by then, they were an institution." The gnome flips a few pages.
Elwick Silverscript:"Some say the raid on the Burns family was one of the final straws that got people to really investigate Zendar and his group. Folks just couldn't believe that such a well-respected family was full of monsters."
Elwick Silverscript:"And then clan members like that one decided to capitalize on that image and threaten any dissenters with disembowelment via wolf teeth."
Tathi:"Zendar?" She asks curiously.
Elwick Silverscript:The gnome closes the book. "Folks are too scared of what the family can do to raise any complaints. Either they lose their social status due to measures the clan can take as humans, or they lose their lives due to the ones they can take as beasts. … Zendar? Aaron Zendar. Half-elf, led the Inquisition. Think he's still imprisoned somewhere in maximum arcane security."
Tathi:"What was he imprisoned for, if merely attempting to eradicate the lycanthropes?"
MeanyOwl:Merely eradicate the lycanthropes.
Elwick Silverscript:"Well, Zendar's methods weren't exactly scrupulous. Lots of false accusations."
MeanyOwl:Sszeyl would slap that girl so DAYUM hard.
Elwick Silverscript:"More false ones than real ones, some say. And Zendar wasn't above using magic to manipulate people into following his cause."
Tathi:"Ah, so he had ulterior motives. How lovely. Anything else I should know about them?"
Elwick Silverscript:"About who? The Inquisition, or the Burns clan?"
Tathi:"Both, if you have the information handy!"
Elwick Silverscript:"This is a library," the gnome says with a small chuckle. "Going into the Inquisition's history would take all day, but Burns clan… let me see." Rolling a Knowledge check…
- You roll to yourself: 1d20+11] => Invalid expression: 1d20+11].
- You roll to yourself: 1d20+11 => 17 + 11 = 28
Elwick Silverscript:"There are ten of them left in the city, and that one you saw earlier's the head of the whole clan. There was a group of adventurers some three years ago that tried to stop some of the 'hunts' they were going on… Wait! That's it!"
Elwick Silverscript:"There's a safer way to hear the story! Do you know the Stormblade Fighting School on Stonetree Road?"
Tathi:Does she? Has she been around long enough to? ^^
Liatai:She can try Knowledge Local. ^^
Elwick Silverscript:"Think they're closed on Lodas, but the head of the school was involved in that thing three years ago. Name's Dan Highland. Master swordfighter, that one."
Tathi:??1d20+4 = 5 + 4 = 9?? Knowledge Local!
MeanyOwl:You fail.
Ghostwish:sorry, had to look it up.
Ghostwish:NO U
Liatai:Oof. Nope, she doesn't know it. ^^' Fortunately, Exposition Gnome to the rescue! XD
MeanyOwl:Not to be confused with Explosion Gnome.
MeanyOwl:Ever.
Ghostwish:ssssssssss-BOOM!
Liatai:XDGhostwish:I'm gonna have to leave soon. :Ghostwish::{MeanyOwl:D:Liatai:That's OK. For here is what I was going to say next…
Elwick Silverscript:By the time Exposition Gnome gives Tathi the address, the sun is climbing high in the sky… Didn't you have somewhere you needed to be at midday, Tathi? :P
Tathi:"Drat, out of time. Thanks for the address, I shall investigate this a bit further." She says, silently curing the strange, giggling female dragon responsible for it all.
Liatai:Yay! I am cured! XD
Tathi:CURSING.
MeanyOwl:No no.
Tathi:CURSING, DARN YOU. XD
MeanyOwl:He means curing.
MeanyOwl:Like for hides.
Liatai:XD XD XD
Liadragon:And then a dragon came and landed on the library. :P
Elwick Silverscript:"MY ROOF!"
Liatai:Anyway!
Liatai:Meany, you wanted a Barbarus mini-session?
Clint:"PARDON me, but do you have Father of the Warforged?"
Ghostwish::>Ghostwish:And now I zip away. :>
MeanyOwl:Yes, and bah!
Elwick Silverscript:"I'm afraid you have the wrong setting, sir." :P
MeanyOwl:Bah bah! :D
Liatai:Seeya! :D
Ghostwish is disconnected.
Liatai:OK, give me a few minutes to get ready, and then we shall mini-session away. :D
Liatai:You may want to load the Bronze Boot Area map. :3
Liatai:Must… find… tokens…
Liatai:…. aaaand I haven't drawn Rorras. Default catfolk it is. >.>
Barbarus:"Rorras, you look surprisingly hawt today."
Liatai:Now to disperse the catfolk into the city… X3
Liatai:There we go. :D
Liatai:— Oh!
Liatai:Venezuela! :O
Barbarus:Yes. :O
Barbarus:The murder mule!
Liatai:There we are! ^^
Barbarus:"Hey, Venezuela. :D How did we get here again?"
Venezuela:Snort.
GM:It's a beautiful sunny day in Castleton, Loda, Fharlon 23, in 1221 CA. Where are Barbarus and the Mule of Death headed today?
Barbarus:The local butchery to report in for duty. :D
Liatai:.. Dang, I don't have a butcher's on this map. >.>
Barbarus:D:Liatai:… Blah. Sacred canine duty. -.-
Barbarus:Mkay.
Liatai:Okay. So, want your encounter at the butcher shop, or in the streets, if you don't have any particular NPC you want to meet with?
- Liatai pokes the Meany. >.>
Barbarus:Yo.
- Liatai points up.
Barbarus:I honestly don't know what to do. ._.
Liatai:Shall we let Fortuna decide?
Barbarus:Sure. :o
Liatai:??1d2 = 2?? where 1 is the shop, 2 is the streets…
Liatai:??1d2 = 1?? where 1 is the morning, 2 is the afternoon…
Liatai:??1d20+2 = 20 + 2 = 22?? for the event…
Liatai:Holy crow. XD
Liatai:Wow.
Liatai:Um.
Liatai:Okay.
Liatai:Now I need to think of how to play this out. XD
Liatai:??1d3 = 1??
Liatai:… What's Barbarus' brother's name? >:3
Barbarus:Tabris
Liatai:Righto. Move Barbarus to anywhere on the streets or in a shop. :3 Also, Tabris' wife's name?
Barbarus:Hmm.
Barbarus:Rakshata? :B
Liatai:??1d100 = 80?? ??1d100 = 96??
Liatai:??1d100 = 1??
- Liatai cackles.
Barbarus:?Liatai:??1d12 = 3??
Sanas Vorastrix:A human with shockingly bright red hair and yellow eyes walks past Barbarus and the mule on the street… then does a double-take.
MeanyOwl is disconnected.
Sanas Vorastrix:Aw. :Sanas Vorastrix:>:MeanyOwl has connected.
Sanas Vorastrix:A human with shockingly bright red hair and yellow eyes walks past Barbarus and the mule on the street… then does a double-take.
Sanas Vorastrix:"— Tabris? Tabris! It IS you!" :D
MeanyOwl:um.
MeanyOwl:Last I saw you were rolling a d12
Liatai:I just reposted what I said afterward. :3
MeanyOwl:Ah.
Sanas Vorastrix:"How the world turns, huh? How's Rakshata? How's the tribe?"
Sanas Vorastrix::D :D :D
Barbarus:"Pardon me," the cat says to the chicken vendor, then turns to look at this newcommer. "I'm sorry, you have me mistaken. :D I'm his brother. The butcher one who likes too wear bones. :D"
Sanas Vorastrix:"— Oh. Oh jeez, I'm sorry, you look just like him. Thought he was trying out the whole 'aspect-of-death' thing that sometimes druids do." The human looks disappointed.
Barbarus:"It's okay. Kinda a game."
Barbarus:"Anyway, whatcha need?"
Venezuela:Ragekillmurderdestroymaimwreckcrush.
Sanas Vorastrix:"Well, if you were Tabris, I was hoping to catch up over a meal… but wait! You're his brother! You can tell me! :D How's he doing? How's the wife?"
Karif:The raven on the human's shoulder glowers at the mule.
Barbarus:"The wife is still a ditz. And last I saw he had learned how to shapeshift."
Venezuela:The mule gives the raven the Eye of Sauron.
Sanas Vorastrix:"Really! :D I didn't know she was a druid too! Or is she an arcanist? :D" The 'ditz' comment didn't even seem to register with the human.
- Karif quoth "Nevermore."
Sanas Vorastrix:"— What? Oh, jeez, Karif, stop with the nevermore. I thought you'd grown out of that."
Barbarus:"Tabris is the one who learned to shapeshift. Rakshakta is the trophy wife right now. Danged girl can barely weave a basket."
Karif:"Nevermore."
Venezuela:Ragekillmurderdestroymaimwreckcrush.
Sanas Vorastrix:"… ehhhhhh. Iiiii take it you're not fond of the wife?"
Chicken Merchant:"HEY! Could you two talk somewhere else? That mule's scaring away my customers!"
Barbarus:"She tugged on my tail in an inappropriate manner thinking I was Tabris," Barbie says as he jingles gold coins in front of the merchant and deftly points to a chicken.
Chicken Merchant:"— Oh!" The merchant quickly picks out the chicken and holds it out for inspection.
Sanas Vorastrix:"Ohhhh, I see, I see."
- Karif glares at the chicken. Pathetic excuse for a feathered beast.
TMG has connected.
- Barbarus inspects the chicken. "You one of his shaman friends, then?"
TMG::O :O
TMG:What have I miiiiiissed? :O
Sanas Vorastrix:"Ehhh… not quite. I was on a caravan or two with him. Sanas Vorastrix, arcanist. I specialize in summoning. :D And this is Karif. :D"
Liatai:Oh! :D
Liatai:Tech! :D
Liatai:One sec, I'll send it along. :D
TMG:Whee :3
Barbarus:"Hello. And yes, this bird will suffice. Thank you." Handing the gold over, then tossing the bird to Venezuela to hold its feet with her teeth. "So, what brings you to Castleton?"
TMG:Woo…alright, reading…
Sanas Vorastrix:"Oh, this and that, this and that. :D I heard there were dragons in the area, and just had to investigate!"
Sanas Vorastrix:"There's this bard I was travelling with who's supposed to be a real Dragonfriend, you know? With a capital D!"
Barbarus:??1d20+4 = 13 + 4 = 17?? Knowledge Local check.
Liatai:On?
Barbarus:This Dragonfriend bard.
Liatai:You have heard a few rumors of a very talkative bard who recently came to town who is supposed to get a lot of good stories from dragons and their kin when no one else has been able to… A tall human with wild red hair named Tharkiel Sunaxissor. :3
Liatai:… Did I stun the chat? >.>
Barbarus:Yep.
Barbarus:"Tharky?"
Sanas Vorastrix:"Oh, you've heard of him? :D"
Barbarus:"Rumors. :o"
Sanas Vorastrix:"Ever been to one of his shows? Fantastic storyteller, but catch him before or after a show and he can talk your ear right off! :D"
Sanas Vorastrix:"He's supposed to be at the Bronze Boot tonight. You going? :D"
TMG:And back.
Barbarus:"I have to bring Denny his dinner. You've heard about Denny, from Tabby, right? :o"
TMG:er, done reading
Sanas Vorastrix:"Denny?"
TMG:also; daaaaaaaaaaammit. Gnogglebolt's got a werewolf looking for him? D:Barbarus:"Densharr?"
Sanas Vorastrix:"Doesn't ring a bell. :D"
Sanas Vorastrix:"But hey, if this Denny wants to come, too, I'm sure Tharky would love the audience! :D"
Barbarus:"How rude of Tabris."
Barbarus:"Sure sure. Denny loves a good story. So long as it doesn't emphasize visuals."
Sanas Vorastrix:"Emphasize… visuals?" Headtilt.
- Karif flaps his wings and tries to stay on top of the human's head. Hey! >:O
Barbarus:"He's blind. A kindly little blind man who makes the most amazing teas. :O"
Barbarus:"Seriously, one of his teas actually cured a type of cancer."
Sanas Vorastrix:"— Oh." Sanas looks awkward.
Sanas Vorastrix:"Well, he'll miss something if Tharky decides to whip out the ol' illusion magic, but the meat of the story's in the words, right? :D"
Barbarus:"Righto."
Barbarus:"Seeya at..when's the show?"
Sanas Vorastrix:"Bronze Boot just after sundown! Don't miss it! :D"
Barbarus:"Sweet."
Barbarus:"Thanks. :D"
Sanas Vorastrix:"Seriously, get there early. The intro shouldn't be missed. :D"
Sanas Vorastrix:"No problem! See you there! :D"
TMG:better hope the rest of the party doesn't hear about it >.>
Sanas Vorastrix:"Oh jeez, sorry, what was your name again? :O"
TMG:Cuz then you'll have to describe it :U
Barbarus:"Barbarus….Tab may have been calling me Barbie, though."
Liatai:I'm already thinking of what story Tharky will tell… >:3
Sanas Vorastrix:"Barbarus, Barbie, right, right! :D See you later!"
- Sanas Vorastrix seems to have no setting between off and turbo, by how quickly he's jaunting off down the street.
Barbarus:"…That man frightens me. Let's go, Venezuela."
Liatai:Annnnnd scene? :3
TMG:scene?
Liatai:Cut?
TMG:Oh xD
Liatai:It's a wrap? :3
MeanyOwl:Sure.
TMG:Never knew of "scene" as a verb like that. x3
Liatai:And now, we have a feasable way to bring Barb back in contact with the party. :D
TMG:x3Liatai:Seriously, I was cackling when the random urban encounter was "mistaken identity." XD
MeanyOwl:I thought Tab and Rak were going to actually be here.
MeanyOwl:"Brother, explain why my wife is pregnant when I have not been with her yet?"
Liatai:Nah. Going to need more details about them before I bring them into the game. >:3
TMG:x3Liatai:… You know, this conglomeration of mini-sessions is at least as long as an actual session. XD
Liatai:We should put them on the wiki. "Mini-Session Conglomeration 1" or something. X3
TMG:Indeed. x3
TMG:HAY CAN I HAVE A SECOND MINI SESSION TOO FOR THAT ONE CHAR— naw, just kidding xD
Liatai:… Sanas had the laziest last name, I tell you. :B Any Draconic buffs recognize it or his familiar's name?
TMG:Nope, I'm not a draconic buff :B
Liatai:"Oh, he's a sorcerer, the random table says… I should give him a Draconic last name… LAZY. It'll be Vorastrix. Sorcerer. :B"
TMG:*snerk* :P
Liatai:Likewise, Karif was just a random Draconic word, taken from the Draconic blessing "austrat karif," or "fly far."
Liatai:OK, going to shut down the server. :3
Liatai:In 3…
Liatai:2…
Liatai:1…
You have disconnected.
Server started.
TMG has connected.
Faerie has connected.
TMG:yup, i started me in the arcane district, but the map is cached
Dr. Hatari has connected.
Liatai:Righto, just going to put people in the arcane district for now so people can copy/save/edit their tokens.
TMG:Gnogglebolt's all set…
Faerie:Liatai, could you pop my token in please? >.>
Liatai:Sure. :3
Faerie:I never figured out how to save it to my machine.
TMG:Alrighty, alex…what would Elros, the half-elf ranger—oh!
TMG:Right-click, "save"
Liatai:Tech beat me to it. x3
TMG:functions as "save as", actually
Faerie:Huh, I didn't think that was there last time. >.>
- Audience flits about the townie tokens. They look better than I'm used to. :D
TMG:But yes. What would Elros, the half-elf ranger who's experienced the recent adventures of the group, do with a free morning in the big city? Is there any place in particular he would go to, or would he wander the ciy and see the sights?
- Faerie hmms
Faerie:I think more likely wander and see the city.
Liatai:That's the result of a good three days of work making tokens, Hatari. x3
TMG:(oh yes. Part of what makes Liatai such an awesome DM is she's just a weeeee bit crazy)
Liatai:Just a wee bit. :P
- Liatai twitches.
TMG:(she went through archives of video gaem anime art, and manually token'd them all )
Liatai:Yep, just a wee bit. :P
Dr. Hatari:Blaquestone's townies look like Planescape NPCs. :P
TMG:alex; alrighty, if Elros just wanders to see the city…you know what that means, Liatai? ;)
Liatai:By all means, though, flit around, poke your head into buildings. :3
TMG:oh!
TMG:And click on things!
TMG:Many things on this map can be clicked
Liatai:I do indeed. x3 Faerie, would you prefer the arcane district or the Bronze Boot area?
TMG:Oh yes, And alex, for the random urban encounter, Liatai rolls a d20. Whatever you do, don't get a 3. >.>
Liatai:XDFaerie:…
Liatai:That's "pickpockets." :P
Faerie:Arcane District, and why not 3? >.>
Faerie:Ah.
TMG:We'll have a 20+ session mini-side-campaign with Elros. x3
GM:Righto, time for the Roll of Doom! « 1d20+2 = 2 + 2 = 4 »
TMG:OOOOH.
TMG:That was CLOSE.
GM:… that doesn't count, since there's a spectacle right in front of you. The dancer. :P
TMG:x3GM:Shall I roll again, or do you just want to poke around in random buildings?
Faerie:x3 Um…
Faerie:>.>
Faerie:Roll? :U
GM:Roll it is! « 1d20+2 = 14 + 2 = 16 »
GM:… eeheehee. >:3 This should be fun.
- Audience mercilessly batters itself against the walls of the city - in the name of exploration!
Liatai:Don't forget to click on doors, audience! x3
Faerie:Alright, -now- I'm worried.
TMG:Oooh. 16. :D
TMG:Perfect to develop Elros with. >:3
Dr. Hatari:Doors are for quitters!
TMG:(removing gnogglebolt from map…)
TMG:…schiesle.
Liatai:« 1d100 = 34 » « 1d100 = 23 » « 1d100 = 36 » Rolling up your encounter…
Faerie:Hut…hike!
Faerie:>.>
TMG:I lost vision. Ownership of audience token? :B
Liatai:…. oh man. XD
Faerie:I have the Superbowl on. I've got football on the brain.
Liatai:You won't believe what I rolled.
Liatai:Half-elf. Druid. XD
TMG:THen don't tell us—
TMG:Bah. Spoiler. DX
- Audience hopes for a cheesy cameo.
Liatai:« 1d2 = 1 » Not quite! There's something that hasn't been figured out yet!
TMG:(hatari, mind gchecking me for ownership of the audience token? )
Liatai:Oh, right!
Dr. Hatari:There you go.
TMG:ah, thank ya
Faerie:Let me guess, that 1d2 was a male/female roll?
Liatai:Yep.
Dr. Hatari:Don't mind me if I go pummeling it against the sides of buildings until it breaks fog of war. :3
Liatai:OK, ready. Faerie, you ready? :3
Liatai:If so, roll Spot and Listen for me.
Faerie:One sec, lemme just get the character sheet open.
Liatai:Right, I'll do some more rolling in the meantime. :3
MeanyOwl has connected.
Liatai:« 1d100 = 48 » « 1d100 = 59 »
MeanyOwl:I'm scared now.
Dr. Hatari:Tech; Is VAE just sitting out for a while due to the in-game circumstances, or is he taking a break from Trofim for a while?
Dr. Hatari:Yo.
Ghostwish has connected.
MeanyOwl:Yoyoyo.
TMG:not sure. Trofim's kinda out of the game, and it seems Danman never got his new character figured out yet. :B
Elros:spot « 1d20+8 = 20 + 8 = 28 » and listen « 1d20+3 = 19 + 3 = 22 »
TMG:(at least Trofim is out for the -moment-)
TMG:(he's coming back in soon, maybe a session or two)
TMG:Wow, Elros has his eyes an ears out today. O.O
TMG:-definitely- wants to drink in all the city as to offer! xD
Faerie:x3TMG:*city has
Observant Guard:In addition to the man losing his spellbook in the fountain, the dwarf devouring a whole roast chicken in the inn to the north, and the creepy man talking to a bat in a side alley, you see a guard and a half-elven man in leather armor walking down the street. The half-elf seems to be protesting, arms tied behind his back with rope; the guard is pushing him along and growling out orders.
Half-Elven Man:"I'm telling you, it's not safe! If you'll just give me two minutes, I can —"
Observant Guard:"Keep walking," the guard growls.
MeanyOwl:That guy's heard of the Drow running around, hasn't he? :P
MeanyOwl:Anyway. Where be the Chop and Shop? >:O
Half-Elven Man:The half-elf stops briefly as they approach the fountain in the center of the crossroads.
Liatai:Bronze Boot area. :3
Liatai:But wait one moment, I'm typing something.
Elros:Elros, noticing the half being dragged along, shouts to his apparent captor. "Hail, guard. What seems to be the problem?"
Observant Guard:"This man was seen coaxing a hostile dire animal into city boundaries " the guard starts… and then breaks off as the man makes a run for it! " HALT!!"
Liatai:What does Elros do? The half-elf doesn't seem to be halting.
Faerie:Sorry, I'm being slow. :x
Liatai:It's OK. x3
Liatai:Roll initiative?
Elros:Elros, despite being a half-elf as well, trusts the guard. Or at the very least, doesn't see the benefit of letting the other half-elf go. So he gives chase, shouting "Hey, hey you! Stop!"
Dr. Hatari:(I'm afraid now there are little "i" shaped holes blasted through the nice surroundings. Quite a map!)
Elros:Initiative « 1d20+3 = 3 + 3 = 6 »
Liatai:You haven't even seen the northern half yet, unless you're sneaky and did it while I wasn't looking. x3
Faerie:Since you asked for it.
Half-Elven Man:The half-elf pays no heed to Elros, either, letting out a shrill whistle as he runs. The guard tromps off after him, but seems to be losing ground quickly. Dang full plate!
Liatai:Elros' turn!
Liatai:Meany, we can play out the scene at the Shop and Chop in the meantime. :3
MeanyOwl:Cool.
MeanyOwl:Just paste Sszeyl in the correct spot. :3
Liatai:… Oh shoot! The Shop and Chop doesn't have a door! XD
Elros:Elros continues chasing the other half-elf, being faster than the guard by virtue of olny wearing mail.
Half-Elven Man:The man keeps running down the alleyway, pausing only briefly to look up at a hawk swooping down from above the city. The guard is huffing and puffing, trying to keep up.
Elros has received initiative.
Liatai:OK, Sszeyl should be in place. :3
Sszeyl:Whisper?
Sszeyl:Or no whisper? :o
Liatai:No whisper is fine. :3
Elros:Elros chases the other half-elf down into the alleyway, hoping that it'll dead-end and force him to stop.
Sszeyl:"Hello again."
Drayco has connected.
TMG:ah, welcome, drayco]
Half-Elven Man:The half-elf does briefly skid to a stop, but not for long. The guard is still trying valiantly to keep up with you elven folk.
Ghostwish:sorry, was distracted elsewhere. :>
Shop and Chop Owner:"Well hello again! Has that waterskin been serving you well?"
Drayco:Aw, what a cute kitty!
Elros has received initiative.
Drayco:…Wait a tic, that's a wolf…
TMG:(by the way, Liatai, I think Drayco has a conversation he wanted to share with you in the irc >.> )
Elros:Elros shouts "Wait, hold! I mean you no harm, but why are you running?"
Liatai:He's not running after him, just standing still and yelling?
Sszeyl:"I seem to recall you having a selection of weapons available?"
- Half-Elven Man pauses briefly, then heads for the shop door to the north, replying in Elven. "If you could distract the guardswoman, I'll gladly tell you!"
Observant Guard:"Where did he go?" the guard snaps.
Shop and Chop Owner:"Do we ever! If it bashes, stabs, or slashes, we probably have it in stock! Anything in particular you're looking for?"
TMG:Ooh, time for Elros to make an important decision. :o
MeanyOwl is disconnected.
Meany has connected.
Elros:ELros thinks for just a moment, then shouts to the guard "Quickly, you run around to the north of this building." He motions to the building that the other half ran into, but also indicates go around. "I'll flush him out."
Meany:Sorry.
Faerie:*Elros
Observant Guard:"Right. Be careful, citizen, he's a spellcaster."
Observant Guard:*clank clank clank huff puff wheeze damn full plate*
- Half-Elven Man is speaking quickly to the shopkeeper in a language Elros might recognize, due to the fact that his brother is a druid…
Drayco:See? SMART people get mithril armor.
Drayco:…Expensive as hell, but the lightness is worth it.
Sszeyl:"Something light preferably. That can be easily improvised to deal non-leathal damage, yet still take a good beating."
Florist:The shopkeeper looks up as Elros enters, and the wolf near the door snaps its head up to stare at the half-elves.
Elros:Elros quickly goes into the shop. "Alright, what's going on here? And be quick about it. The guard is going to the north of this building, but expects me to get you out. Though if we take long, she may come to investigate. So talk."
Shop and Chop Owner:"Light and easily improvised to do nonlethal damage… Have you considered a sap? Hard to do any lethal damage with that!"
Sszeyl:"I've been told recently that I should be avoiding close melee. Keep fighting until the blood loss causes black outs. »;;;"
Half-Elven Man:"— Right. I'll explain as quickly as I can, though if worst comes to worst, Koehel can keep her occupied."
Half-Elven Man:"Something was drawing a lone dire wolf into the city from the forest — I don't know what it was, the guard didn't give me a chance to find out — and I tried to talk to it to ask what it was doing so close to civilization, when the guard jumped at me and claimed I was the one calling it in!"
Shop and Chop Owner:"So, are you looking for something ranged, or something with a bit of a reach to it?"
Elros:"Do you believe that the dire wolf is still coming?"
Ghostwish:brb
Half-Elven Man:"I don't know. Koehel was keeping an eye on it, but I haven't had time to talk to him — the guard kept shooing him away every time he got close."
Half-Elven Man:"I'm just afraid they'll kill the wolf without giving it a chance to explain itself…" The half-elf keeps looking to the northern door, as if expecting the guard to burst in any second.
Sszeyl:"Reach, preferably."
Faerie:Oh, question though.
Faerie:Would it be odd for there to be a lone dire wolf?
Shop and Chop Owner:"Reach it is! What you're looking for is a good polearm — er. Wait. What are you trained in using?"
Liatai:Knowledge (nature) check. :3
Drayco:Spiked Chain!
- Drayco gets transmuted into cheese.
Elros:knowledge (nature) « 1d20+6 = 9 + 6 = 15 »
Liatai:Well, you know that it is strange to see a wild lone non-dire wolf, since they are pack animals.
Ghostwish:back!
Sszeyl:"Club, crossbow, dagger, handaxe, javelin, kama, nunchucku, quarterstaff, zai, shuriken, siangharm, and slings."
Sszeyl:Oh wait.
Elros:"Alright. Where there's one, there may be more. I will talk to the guard—I doubt highly that she'll release you, but I shall try to convince her to let us investigate."
Sszeyl:Drow also get certain racial weapon proffieicneys. :o
Sszeyl:What were they again?
Ghostwish:Mmmm, I think those are overridden by what a monk can use and still get their bonuses.
Dr. Hatari:Well, you can use them - just not as part of a flurry of blows.
Faerie:Also, yay middle-of-the-road approach. :U
Half-Elven Man:"All right, fair enough."
TMG:Hope Elros can solve the mystery before noon >.>
- Shop and Chop Owner raises an eyebrow. "Not too many reach weapons or ranged weapons on that list."
Meany:GM?
Drayco:Yes, I think a monk can only use kamas and still use Flurry of Blows, but I'd have to double-check.
Liatai:One sec, I'm trying to look it up.
Faerie:Talking is a free action. This means this whole bit takes no time, right? :U
Liatai:x3TMG:no no, a monk can use any "monk weapon" as part of a flurry of blows
TMG:the example given is a quarterstaff, but any "monk weapon" works
Liatai:Hand crossbow, rapier, and shortsword are the drow weapon proficiencies.
Elros:"Alright then, come. I will leave first, but stay behind me, where the guard can see you. We don't need her to think you've run off."
Sszeyl:"I can use a hand crossbow, raipier, and shortsword, but not as well. Sorry. :T"
Shop and Chop Owner:"The best thing I can reccomend is to work on your aim with your crossbow, sling, or shoe-reek-ens, but a quarterstaff is simple and can keep an opponent back if you know how to use it right."
Half-Elven Man:"Very well. I only hope she sees reason…"
Sszeyl:"Very well. What types of quarterstaff do you have in stock?"
Shop and Chop Owner:"Quite a few of them, actually! From your simple Trap-Poking Stick to a selection made by local craftsmen. Some are more for wizards than others… Right this way, if you would, Mister Drow!"
Liatai:There are plain and masterwork quarterstaffs here.
Liatai:Reflex save, Elros!
Faerie:What? I was part way through typing somethig. D:Liatai:Oops, sorry. ^^' Up to you whether you want to finish typing or roll the check first.
Drayco:Lemme guess, guard attacked the first thing that came out of the door?
Faerie:Elros opens the door, and motions for the other half-elf to stay close to him. "While I certainly don't approve of summoning dire beasts…if this half-elf is right, there may yet be more, and that should not be left alone. With your permisson…or with your company, if you prefer…I'd like to investigate with him. And if anything goes wrong…" He motions to his two swords.
Faerie:Erm…pretend that was Elros. >.>
Liatai:Drayco was right. ^^' Now for the save.
Elros:reflex save « 1d20+6 = 4 + 6 = 10 »
Drayco:Anyways… ANYONE can make a non-lethal attack at a -4 attack penalty.
Sszeyl:No darkwood? :P
TMG:(drayco; yes, we know.)
TMG:(Sszeyl wants a weapon where he -doesn't- have to do that. :B )
Liatai:Elros, you've just barely avoided being tackled by an overzealous guard trying to catch the man behind you. :P
Drayco:Except that I just looked through the weapon properties on BOTH the DMG and MIC, and there's NOTHING to make a weapon deal non-lethal damage all the time…
Liatai:… *cough Merciful enchantment cough*
Faerie:Erm…can I try diplomacy check too, for that little speech?
Liatai:Nope, no darkwood, Sszeyl. And yes, a Diplomacy check would be wise. :3
Faerie:Can/should?
Liatai:Yes to both, Elros. :3 Roll away!
Elros:diplomacy « 1d20+3 = 1 + 3 = 4 »
Sszeyl:"Hmm. The going rates for each?"
Faerie:…ouch. >.o
Observant Guard:"— He convinced you he didn't do anything wrong, didn't he?! >:O You both are under arrest for obstruction of justice!"
Half-Elven Man:"… Oh no." The man whispers to Elros in Elven. "Listen — when I say run, run. I'm going to try to hold her off. Meet me at the eastern gate; that's where I saw the wolf."
TMG:Oh, shiiiiiiii—
Drayco:DAMMIT! Missed it!
Audience:Take that, vigilantism!
Drayco:DMG page 225: Merciful
Half-Elven Man:"Ready?"
Drayco:Merciful: The weapon deals an extra 1d6 points of damage, and all damage it deals is nonlethal damage. On command, the weapon suppresses this ability until commanded to resume it. Bows, crossbows, and slings so crafted bestow the merciful effect upon their ammunition. Faint conjuration; CL 5th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, cure light wounds; Price +1 bonus.
TMG:….Maybe Elros needs help from a short someone who's been getting buddy with the law enforcement recently? :B
TMG:(and yes, drayco, we KNOW already.)
Shop and Chop Owner:"They range from one silver to 300 gold."
TMG:(you don't need to paste things like that. )
Liatai:What would Gnogglebolt be doing in the arcane district? :P Nope, he got himself into this, he can get himself out.
TMG:Heh. I was kidding, anyway. x3
TMG:Carry on. :3
Drayco:Ssyzel is looking for a weapon that does non-lethal damage.
TMG:yes, drayco, we know.
Drayco:I was TRYING to HELP.
Elros:To the other half-elf, in Elven "No, I will not be an accessory to this. Hold, damn it." Then to the guard, in common "I do not wish to obstruct anything. Surely, a few minutes delay will not be consequential if there is nothing there. Come now, have you heard of the group that apprehended the Redmaw Gang? I was with them. Ask around, if you like. My only concern is for this city's safety."
TMG:we already know about the merciful enchantment. Sszeyl doesn't have the coin to afford a magic weapon yet.
Sszeyl:Well.
Liatai:Merciful weapons are outside of this group's current price range, anyway — ninja'd.
Sszeyl:If I sold this fancy ring.
Sszeyl:Maybe.
Elros:and just for the heck of it, diplomacy « 1d20+3 = 8 + 3 = 11 »
TMG:There is that—but would that be in-character? :B
Sszeyl:Oh hellz no.
TMG:after all the fuss Sszeyl's been making? :B
Dr. Hatari:(But.. but then you won't be able to walk on water!)
TMG:(and alex; VERY good recovery, in my opinion. :) )
Drayco:Well, a +1 bonus is only 2,000g…
Faerie:Why thank you. x3
Observant Guard:"Doesn't matter who you are or who you are with, right now, you're obstructing justice." Diplomacy failure.
TMG:Aw. Looks like the circumstance bonus wasn't high enough. :(
- Sszeyl arches a brow. "And will one of those one silver ones be capable of blocking an axe swung but a bugbear?" Also.
TMG:Time for a tough choice, half-elf…
Sszeyl:« 1d20+5 = 5 + 5 = 10 » Spot check!
Faerie:Ouch. >.o
Sszeyl:On any pleasing patterns on the staves.
Liatai:What are you trying to spot?
Liatai:That would be a Search check. :P
Drayco:Hmmmm… Sszeyl! Haggle/Diplomacy for a discount!
Sszeyl:« 1d20+3 = 11 + 3 = 14 » Diplomacy check!
Faerie:Darn it. Um…
Drayco:…Quarterstaff? Oy, take the price for darkwoord and double it for both ends.
Shop and Chop Owner:"Ah, you've got a good eye. Silver is expensive, but the alchemical coating process makes a sound weapon. Good for fighting devils and lycanthropes!"
Sszeyl:« 1d20+2 = 1 + 2 = 3 » Int check!
Sszeyl:Nope. :B
Shop and Chop Owner:"That one will cost 480 GP."
Liatai:Durrr. :B
Drayco:A ONE! OUCH!
- Sszeyl flinches.
Liatai:What was Sszeyl trying to remember? XD
Sszeyl:No, untrained search check.
Liatai:Tathi, Gnogglebolt, you two can head to the Bronze Boot if you want. :3
Drayco:…Search isn't a trained skill, is it?
Liatai:… you can take 10 or 20… :B
TMG:I'm good, it's still early morning in terms of time frame, will wait for Elros…
Drayco:Taking 20 takes a looooong time, though…
TMG:hm…I actually feel we're cluttering up Alex's mini-session, actually. I'll be quiet until it's over. If I have to communicate, I'll do so with whispers. :B
Liatai:OK, your call. :3
TMG:(I actually was figuring on the server being refreshed when the mini-session is over, so the log of it can be attached to the marathon while we start the real session )
- Sszeyl takes twenty to find a pleasing pattern on something within the 125 gp allowance he has. Since the rest of his money is going toward a house for the Swiftaxes.
TMG:…erm.
Elros:Elros takes a step back, in the block the other half-elf in direction. "Obstructing what? Here is the half-elf you were chasing, out the very door I said he'd be out of. Have him if you like, but I believe there may…and I don't know for sure, but there may be more danger. Unfortunately, this half-elf is also the one who seems to have heard what may—and again, may be going on."
Liatai:Oof. He can only get a basic quarterstaff for 125 GP. ^^'
TMG:Gnogglebolt's paying for that already. :B
Elros:diplomacy check « 1d20+3 = 14 + 3 = 17 »
Drayco:Diplo checks take 10 minutes, Elros!
Observant Guard:"— You're right! I'll catch him first, THEN catch you! >:O"
TMG:we don't exactly do diplomacy by the rules, drayco.
Faerie:Oh, i does? ..o
Faerie:*>.o
TMG:no, alex, don't worry.
TMG:This is how Liatai does it personally. Mix the roll in with the roleplaying
Half-Elven Man:"— Wait wait — oh spirits forgive me. Half-elf! RUN!"
Drayco:…Note to self, get the Non-lethal Substitution feat…
Faerie:TMG: Wait, what?
TMG:alex; Don't worry. You did everything right.
- Sszeyl picks up a basic one, then. "And this specimin?"
TMG:Ignore what drayco said, nothing's wrong.
TMG:Just keep going
Half-Elven Man:The half-elf stomps the ground and begins to intone words in Druidic… you have a few moments to make an action, Elros.
Drayco:Yes, pay me no attention.
Elros:Elros, however, intends to show that he's acting in the interests of the city, and moves to prevent the other half-elf from escaping.
Shop and Chop Owner:"That one? That's one silver."
Faerie:Erm…not sure which direction was most blocking, so diagonal.
Drayco:I'm feeding on your confusion like a Dimanika cubi.
Half-Elven Man:Make a Reflex save, then, Elros, as plants are growing up through the cracks in the cobblestones to snatch at the ankles of everyone in a forty-foot radius.
Elros:« 1d20+6 = 14 + 6 = 20 » reflex
Sszeyl:"Not confidence inspiring, but it'll do. What is the wood of this one comprise of?" He askes while fishing for a silver in his pockets.
Drayco:Hey, does that include the florist?
Sszeyl:comprised*
Ghostwish:brb again
Half-Elven Man:You can only move at half-speed through the plants. Meanwhile, for the guard… « 1d20-6 = 4 - 6 = -2 » and for the druid… « 1d20+2 = 9 + 2 = 11 »
TMG:that's a hell of an armor check penalty. o.o
Drayco:Uh, GM? Radius Template?
Observant Guard:The guard, unlike Elros, is held fast in the plants, swearing and growling. The half-elf ducks back into the building, barely avoiding the snatching vines.
Liatai:How do I put one up?
Absent-Minded Teacher:Oh, and for the heck of it. « 1d20+2 = 17 + 2 = 19 »
Drayco:Template tools at the top?
Absent-Minded Teacher:The teacher keeps walking. Doo dee doo, plants springing up in the streets, completely normal. :B
Dr. Hatari:2 buttons from the left. Just pick a square intersection to start, then expand out to desired radius.
Dr. Hatari:Edit -> undo drawing for easy cleanup~
Drayco:Ah, yup. Big area.
Drayco:…So, that doesn't affect the florist and old lady?
Florist:« 1d20+3 = 15 + 3 = 18 »
Old Lady:« 1d20-1 = 13 - 1 = 12 »
Elros:Elros is able to run back into the building, drawing one sword on the way…just in time to apparently see the other half-elf roun out the back.
Drayco:Whoop, I guess it does…
Old Lady:"My word!" The old lady is currently entangled in the vines reaching out from a nearby flowerpot… the florist has escaped ensnarement, though. The florist snaps out a phrase in Druidic as the half-elf fugitive runs past, but does not get out from behind the counter.
Observant Guard:« 1d20+3 = 7 + 3 = 10 » Strength check…
Observant Guard:The guard is still held fast.
Faerie:Are we still on initiative rules, or do I have unlimited movemet?
Liatai:Initiative. :3
Liatai:It's your turn, though.
Drayco:Oh, he'll be LONG gone by the time you get outta there, though…
Shop and Chop Owner:"Maple wood, I believe. It's a stout weapon, if a simple one."
Overzealous Guard:Also, Observant Guard is now Overzealous Guard. :B
Sszeyl:"Very good." And silver exchanges hands!
Faerie:Umm…
Ghostwish:back!
Shop and Chop Owner:"Pleasure doing business! Is there anything else you're looking for today?"
Faerie:And I'm still limited to half-speed movement, right? Anything I could do to fix that?
Liatai:Get out of the area of the spell. That's about it. ^^'
Dr. Hatari:Make some witty quips about how it's the florist's job to help you!
Faerie:Oh, I see. Area denoted by the black line?
Liatai:Yep!
Faerie:Let's see…
Drayco:HALF distance.
Faerie:Yes, but I can move double-distance if I use the full turn, can't I?
Liatai:Yep.
Drayco:Oh. NVM me, then.
- Half-Elven Man ignores the mysterious floating i and runs!
Faerie:Could I claim a free +5ft step to clear the AoE, or no?
Dr. Hatari:X3* Faerie forgets when it's acceptable to use a free step.
Liatai:You're free to move now, though. Your turn.
TMG:only if you haven't already movied in the same turn…
TMG:*moved
Dr. Hatari:I agree.
Overzealous Guard:« 1d20+3 = 2 + 3 = 5 »
Faerie:I did just move though. End turn, though I suppose I ought to say something.
Drayco:Sorry Elros, he's gone…
Overzealous Guard:"AAARGH!! DAMN PLANTS!" The guard isn't, though.
Elros:Elros moves as quickly as he can to try to chase after the fugitive half-elf, but has trouble getting through the plants.
TMG:if it's a new turn for you, all you need to do is take 10 feet out of your normal 60 to get out
TMG:then used the rest of the 50 to run
- Wolf is completely unperturbed by the plants acting strangely. Yawn.
Sszeyl:"Once again, I find myself in need of rope."
Faerie:Yeah, I guess, is it my turn again?
Faerie:>.>
Liatai:Yep.
Drayco:Of course the wolf is, he's outside of the AoE…
TMG:wait, actually
Shop and Chop Owner:"We've got plenty of that! Silk or hempen?"
Drayco:And I thought one could only run in a straight line?
TMG:if you move diagonally right out, that is just 5 feet right there, then you can move normally for 55 feet
TMG:racyo; that's 4 times speed
Drayco:TMG: Over a rack of plant pots…
Drayco:Oh. *Makes a note.*
Liatai:The whole floor is kind of one big plant pot at the moment. :P
Faerie:Hm. Would I have any thought on which way the other half-elf went?
Overzealous Guard:Guard's turn. « 1d20+3 = 4 + 3 = 7 »
Faerie:Hey, I still had another 15 feet of movement. D:Liatai:Oh, right… one sec.
Drayco:…Why did you do that?
TMG:cuz you were bugging me by moving it around so much. :[
Drayco:Wheeee! I'm a warp-aci on a sugar-buzz!
Liatai:Fortunately for you, you are not trying to track in a natural environment. You have a chance. :3
TMG:There. One of your own…whusp, forgot to lable it.
Liatai:If this wasn't an urban environment, the druid would leave no tracks…
Faerie:Liatai: So…track?
Faerie:Erm…track in't a skill, forgot.
Liatai:Survival check!
Faerie:But I do have it as a feat. Does that help me?
TMG:Track the feat allows you to use the Survival skill like this'
TMG:(as far as I know)
Liatai:It does. :3 Roll that check.
Elros:survival « 1d20+6 = 4 + 6 = 10 »
TMG:(but just keep going )
Liatai:Ouch. ^^'
Sszeyl:"Silk, if you please."
Ghostwish:oh dear sweet gods..
Ghostwish:the black eyed peas are doing the half time show.
Drayco:Just as well, you were heading the wrong way anyway…
Liatai:It would take 10 minutes for you to try again, sadly. :Liatai:>:Ghostwish:i have never seen so much fail before…
Liatai:But you see no tracks, no sign of where the druid went.
Drayco:He went THATAWAY! *Points.*
Overzealous Guard:« 1d20+3 = 18 + 3 = 21 »
TMG:So…Elros lost both the guard and the prisoner. WHat does he do now?
Elros:Elros, seeing no tracks, decides to head in the direction of either the guard or the east gate, both of which are that way.
Overzealous Guard:He'd better decide quickly, the guard just broke free of the plants. o.o
Liatai:Initiative over, move freely. :3
Drayco:Don't go north, Elros…
Faerie:…which way-is- the east gate?
Meany:Okay, I'm afraid I'm going to need to cut this shoping shorty.
Overzealous Guard:"HrrrrAAAAAH!! Take that, you stupid vine!"
Meany:-yGhostwish:east? :P
Drayco:…East?
Meany:How much for fifty feet of silk rope again?
TMG:(I don't think there's a map for the east gate, so just move to the edge of the map and pretend)
Shop and Chop Owner:"Ten gold pieces for fifty feet."
Drayco:10gp.
Liatai:Tech is right, there's no map for the eastern gate. … But did he just come out of that alley on the northern side? >:3
Sszeyl:Sszeyl hands the gold over, the man gives him the rope, and Bob's your uncle, he heads off for the Boot.
Overzealous Guard:"— YOU! HALT!" The guard starts trudging through the plants, looking absolutely livid.
Elros:Elros shouts over to the guard. "Quickly, did the other half elf pass through here? He mentioned earlier heading for the East Gate. Perhaps he would be headed back there."
Drayco:I warned you, Elros…
Audience:(Favored enemy: Criminal Scum!)
Overzealous Guard:"I'm sure you'd like to know where your accomplice went!"
Overzealous Guard:Trudge trudge trudge.
Faerie:So wait, ruling from Liatai, -is- diplomacy limited to once per 10 minutes? Game time or real time?
Drayco:You don't have the ranks, man!
Liatai:It depends on the circumstances. You can roll again. :3 Like Tech said, we play it in the way that Diplomacy checks are rolled with dialogue.
Elros:"I assure you, that half-elf is NOT my accomplice. I attempted to persue him through the shop, but his vines held me up. But if he didn't run towards you, he must've gone the other way." And diplomacy « 1d20+3 = 16 + 3 = 19 »
Faerie:Gawd, I need to take levels in Diplomacy after this.
Drayco:… Yeah, you need a check result of 20 to improve how the NPC sees you by one step…
Overzealous Guard:"… hrmm." The guard pauses in her angry trudge through the vines. "It seems he isn't. Either that, or you're a very bad partner. I didn't see him."
Overzealous Guard:Hooray for circumstance bonuses!
Drayco:As a note, it would help to know WHEN one's getting a circumstance bonus…
Ghostwish:That would be cheating.
Ghostwish:You're not supposed to know.
TMG:It would, but they're for surprised :P
Ghostwish:Just to roll and hope. ;)
TMG:*surprises
TMG:So, what does elros do now? :o
Ghostwish:ATTACK THE DARKNESS.
Overzealous Guard:Trudge trudge trudge.
Elros:"Well, standing here isn't going to help with anythig. If he didn't come this way, he must've gone south. Shall we go attempt to find him?"
Meany:Elros seems to forget.
Meany:He has a previous engagement.
TMG:(in-game for him, it's not noon yet. :B )
Faerie:What time is it? >.>
Overzealous Guard:"I'll go find him. Eastern gate. I expect you to report to another guard with the whole story. — Cyrus! Cyrus, get over here!"
City Guard:"Yes?"
Drayco:Ghost: I just want to know if there's a HOPE of success when trying to use a skill or not.
Overzealous Guard:"Get this half-elf's statement on the events here. I've got a rogue druid to catch — and to fine for littering!" she snarls, kicking away some of the dying plants.
Ghostwish:Well, what you want and what you get are two entirely different things. ;)
City Guard:"Of course. Sir? Name and occupation?"
Drayco:…And one of these days, Liatai's gonna throw in Mega Man Zero artwork and I'm gonna LAUGH…
Liatai:Too futuristic. :P
Drayco:That's why I'd laugh.
Elros:Elros sighs. "Elros Saelian, adventurer."
Liatai:Does anyone recognize where the City Guard is from, though? Kudos to you if you do.
Drayco:Art style looks… DBZ-ish?
City Guard:"How long have you been in Castleton?"
Overzealous Guard:"— East. Right. East." The guard turns around, muttering angrily.
Drayco:So… Dragon Warrior?
Liatai:BZZZT. Wrong. :P
Drayco:Hey, I'm guessing SERIES, here.
Elros:"My party just returned this prior day, with a group of goblins we had captured."
City Guard:"… Goblins?" The guard raises his visor and peers at Elros.
Drayco:Dragon Warrior got a graphics reboot from the artist behind Dragon Ball Z a few games ago.
Liatai:Think games from 1995. Akira Toriyama was involved in character design, though, so you're not far off. :3
Drayco:…And I hate DBZ so much that I haven't played 'em…
Drayco:1995… Ah, hell…
Liatai:You're missing out if you haven't played this game. One of the best RPGs of all time, in my humble opinion. :P
Drayco:How about a clue? Like genre?
- Liatai points up.
Drayco:Sonuvadammit…
Elros:Elros notices the other guard trudging back from the wrong direction, but doesn't say anything. "Yes, goblins. Small intelligent beings, troublemakers, you know."
City Guard:"I'd say so. So what happened here, Elros Saelian?"
Faerie:(brb, skype call.)
Drayco:…Ugh, I give up…
Ghostwish:Which platform, Liatai? :>
Liatai:Super NES, though it was rereleased on the Playstation and recently on the Nintendo DS.
Liatai:… Come on, I didn't even change the NPC's name. :P
Ghostwish:wait, which token are we looking at? XD
City Guard:Me. Hello. c:Ghostwish:yah never played it. XD
Liatai:I thought you recognized the battle music at one point! XD
Drayco:Which was…?
Liatai:I'll keep these cookies for myself, then. And the rest of you, get out there and play Chrono Trigger. :P http://chrono.wikia.com/wiki/Cyrus
Meany:Ahem? :B
Liatai:— Oh shoot I'm sorry! O.O
Liatai:One minute, Meany, got to scroll up and see what Sszeyl last said. XD
Ghostwish:???? That token is from chrono trigger? Whut?
Meany:No, I was asking if the session was going to resume. :B
Meany:College is again tomorrow. :B
Drayco:Oh yeah, Chrono Trigger was redone by the same artist as well, recently.
Liatai:Faerie's on Skype, but you, Tathi, and Gnogglebolt can head to the Boot, if you want. :3
Dr. Hatari:http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090717155902/chrono/images/1/1b/Cyrus.gif Guess he got lost in translation. :P
Tathi:To the boot! AWAY!
Ghostwish:OHHH. That explains it. I'm oldschool. :P
Liatai:Come onnnn, I even called him Cyrus in the dialogue! XD
TMG:ack, can't start without Alex D:Liatai:You can order food and chit-chat if you want. :3
TMG:it seems his mini-session is about over, anyway
Drayco:…What do floating "I"s eat, anyway?
TMG:the dice don't always allow you to solve a problem, anyway. :B
TMG:(and I did kind of want to keep the mini-session separate from the real one, so it could be added to the marathon…but oh well, if everyone insists otherwise )
Drayco:Eh, just say that Elros blows it and gets carted off to jail.
Drayco:DO NOT PASS *GO*! DO NOT COLLECT 200G!
TMG:er…I hink he's just going to finish reporting to this guard, and he's done. :B
TMG:Elros did what he could.
Liatai:Nah, this guard is just going to get Elros' statement, then he's done.
Liatai:Tech, going to paste Gnogglebolt into the Boot?
TMG:oh! Sorry
Drayco:…Roll a charisma check to see if the goblin in the back falls for you.
TMG::[TMG:(which makes me wonder if Liatai read that conversation yet >.> )
Liatai:For the last time! None of the goblins have a gnome-crush! XD
Dr. Hatari:I'm sorry, tech. lol
TMG:Oh, whew. xD
- Drayco Rolls a diplomacy check to convice Liatai otherwise: « 1d20+0 = 1 + 0 = 1 »
TMG:What did you say in reply to drayco after reading that conversation anyway, Liatai? An inquiring mind wants to know…
TMG:…
Drayco:DAMMIT!
TMG:BWAHAHAHA.
Liatai:XD XD XD
- Liatai facedesk-laughs!
Dr. Hatari:Wait.
Ghostwish:EPIC PHHAAAAIIILLLL
Dr. Hatari:Was it… that conversation?
- Dr. Hatari sniggers.
Drayco:Yes, it was *THAT* conversation.
TMG:Yes, hatari, Drayco whispered the entire goblin thing from this morning to Liatai. :[
Liatai:Yes indeed he did. XD
TMG:…and what did you say upon reading it? :B
Liatai:I laughed my rear end off, I'll tell you that. XP
Dr. Hatari:Oh pish and posh. I think you knew what I meant at the time. lol
TMG:…Hrm. Wonder who called Alex…
Faerie:My mom.
Faerie:On Skype right now.
Faerie:We're working on a big reorganization of the family's cell phones.
TMG:Ah. :o
TMG:Ooh, dang.
Liatai:And Drayco, just to answer one of your questions… Goblins don't have marriages, shotgun or otherwise. :B Goblins 'claim' mates, and one can have as many or as few as one can keep the other goblins away from at one time. Claiming a mate is just saying "he/she is MINE," but if you don't have the strength or guile to hold up that claim? "Pfft, yeah right. He/she's MINE, not yours. :P"
Liatai:As such, goblin lineages are big fat tangled messes. :P
- Liatai never thought she would be writing essays on goblin family structure. Then along came this party. XP
TMG:I'm sowwy. >:Liatai:Don't be sorry, it's inspiration to write and it's providing plot hooks! XP
Dr. Hatari:That was exactly how we arrived at the goblin love thing, isn't it?
Meany:Two hours at max of gametime for me left.
Ghostwish:It's the excuse we give the police.
TMG:Errg. Crap.
TMG:…this did wind up being a bit more than a mini-session :/
Liatai:You three! Tech! Ghost! Meany! Get to chit-chattin'! >:P
Ghostwish:meep!
TMG:It was good, though! Lots of good characterization for elros—aw, buggery.
Liatai:We can say Elros was held up giving his statement to the guard.
TMG:So, no hope of keeping them separate anymore?
TMG:*the logs, I mean
Liatai:Nah. Let's just roll with it and get things moving.
Gnogglebolt:Alrighty…and precicely noon, according to his pocketwatch, Gnogglebolt entered the Bronze Boot, and sat down, reading the books he had checked out.
Tathi:Tathi is seated at an empty table, quietly sipping on her tea. She needed something to calm her nerves, have fended off a suitor this morning. She sighs softly, watching Kor sleep on the table.
Liatai:Audience members, head to the Castleton - Bronze Boot Area map! :D
Caswin has connected.
Gnogglebolt:Which would mean that Gnogglebolt got there before anyone, because of "Akellon Time" ;)
Faerie:Sorry, I'm not really doing anything on the call right now, but I feel like I should stand by.
Tathi:Except Tathi, who was early. Nyah!
Liatai:For Caswin — hi, Caswin! — Audience members, head to the Castleton - Bronze Boot Area map! :D
Meany:Bit north, Tech.
Meany:Yocas.
Faerie:Also, how late are we planning on going tonight with the regular session? SInce it's already 9PM. >.>
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt occasionally speaks to the halfing barmaid as she passes by his table, saying short phrases in Halfing to practice.
Gnogglebolt:Eventually, he notices Sszeyl come in…and also another familiar face.
Liatai:Gnogglebolt, roll a Spot and Listen check.
Gnogglebolt:"Oh, hello there again, Barbarus."
Gnogglebolt:Spot: « 1d20 = 12 » Listen: « 1d20+2 = 6 + 2 = 8 »
Liatai:— Barbarus? O.o
Tathi:Tathi glances over at Gnogglebolt, and smiles slightly. "So here we are then."
Liatai:Oh! There he is!
Liatai:Gnogglebolt - You notice a folded piece of parchment fall out of your book onto the floor.
Barbarus:"Hey."
Tathi:She glances back again. "Who is the catfolk fellow?"
Liatai:Wait, isn't Barbarus at work?
Gnogglebolt:"Hmm." Gnogglebolt looks at Tathi. "Elros isn't here yet…eh, typical of most Kellonites I've found. The lack of clocks does that. I'll give him another half-hour…" He then blinks as a paper falls out, and he reaches down to pick it up
Meany:Work?
Drayco:…Will Turner is the bartender?
Liatai:He's working for a local butcher, right?
TMG:(drayco; Yes. x3 )
Meany:We can't assume today is his day off? :B
Liatai:Or did I entirely misread the opening of his mini-session? :P
Meany:The entire opening originally was scrapped.
Faerie:I guess I'm gonna be holding until we get this phone order in, at least.
Meany:Due to lack of butchery on the map.
Faerie:Which should be soon.
Caswin:Ohh, this one…
TMG:alex; er…
TMG:you can't multitask? :B
Faerie:>.>
Liatai:All right, okay. :P It's his day off. But why would he approach people who tied him up and tried to keep him away from Venezuela a week ago?
Dr. Hatari:…Asks tech. >:P
TMG:I keep tabbing out from here to the chat and a few other things…
Faerie:Well, at the rate we're going, I probably can.
Faerie:Yes, but I'm on video chat with my mom.
TMG:(and that is a very good question from Liatai, meany :B )
- Liatai pokes the owl. >.>
Caswin:You said the Bronze Boot, right?
Liatai:Yep.
Liatai:— Oh! You need an audience token! XD Sorry about that.
Liatai:There, you should be able to see now.
Caswin:Aye.
Caswin:Ooh, it's Bloom…
GM:The paper is easily picked up, and is folded into near-perfect thirds widthwise. Does Gnogglebolt read it?
Meany:The Drow offered a deal. :B
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt reads the paper.
Faerie:Umm…should I finish with my statement, or do we say it goes without incident and I meet back up with the group?
Faerie:>.>
Sszeyl:"The catfolk is a butcher and tanner apparently. I'm haggling with him, to help the Swiftaxes find suitable occupations in town, mayhap teach him his trade, and give them a discount at his stall while he's in town."
Tathi:"Curious. You have quite a few business contacts, don't you?"
Barbarus:"And unless I get some of them to help me snag skins and meat from the forests, I don't see why I should. >:["
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt tilts his head at Sszeyl. "Oh, indeed? Thank you for the assistance. I've been working on tha end myself."
TMG:(and by the way)
TMG:(WHEN did Sszeyl give the goblins some of his own gold to pay for the house?)
Meany:He hasn't been able to.
TMG:(because I'm inclined to think he didn't do that, because Gnogglebolt was already—ahhh. Alrighty then. ;) )
Meany:He's still got at nine thousand copper stash in his cart.
Gnogglebolt:"But anyway." Gnogglebolt leans across the table."
Gnogglebolt:"Do you have a final word on this whole 'genocide' thing? Do he have to skip town today?"
Drayco:How much does 9,000 copper weigh?
Dr. Hatari:About 180 lbs.
TMG:« 9,000/50 = Invalid expression: 9,000/50. »
TMG:« 9000/50 = 9000 / 50 = 180 »
TMG:Yup.
Dr. Hatari:It probably also smells strong!
TMG:Nothing Sszeyl can't handle. ;)
Sszeyl:"All that can be done, has been done. Now all that remains is to wait."
GM:The writing is in no language Gnogglebolt can recognize, athough it is in the Common script. "Qugpujkw, Haz & Jtiro. 3 Oknaq. -J"
Tathi:Tathi quirks an eyebrow. "What's all this about genocide?"
- Sszeyl gives Tathi a Poker Face.
Sszeyl:"The planned attacks on my country."
TMG:Wow. And Gnogglebolt's got a lot of languages. o.o
Liatai:Int check, Gnogglebolt?
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt looks at the slip quizzically, but puts it in a pocket for the moment. He also sighs at Sszeyl's words. "Ah, excellent."
Gnogglebolt:Int: « 1d20+4 = 9 + 4 = 13 »
Gnogglebolt:"So, we should be able to stick around for a week?"
Tathi:"I don't know about genocide.." Tathi says, tapping her lips thoughtfully for a moment.. "I'd say even the most dangerous plans might wipe.. half your population? Unless you've suddenly weakened a great deal in the past century?"
Gnogglebolt:"Alright…then, when Elros arrives, we can discuss our exact plans for the next week. As a preliminary, I've been planning the goblin's trial, with a tentative date set four to six days from now."
Liatai:Aack! Faerie, I just realized I never responded to you. ^^' Yes, we can assume it went well and he can meet with the party.
Gnogglebolt:"I'll need you and Elros there, Sszeyl."
TMG:(oh dangit. >_- )
Faerie:Liatai: Ah, thank you. Still on a call, and now actually talking with my parents though. >.>;
TMG:Buggery.
TMG:(brb myself, actually )
Liatai:It's OK. I'll just drop his token off outside the Boot.
Sszeyl:"Out of every ten Drow who lived before the war, three are alive today. And as for the trial, I shall be there."
Tathi:Tathi wences. "Right.. Sorry then.. Genocide it is."
Barbarus:"Oof."
TMG:(….aside; I don't think we're going to do mini-sessions on game days anymore, are we? :B )
Tathi:She nervously fidgets with her hands.. "You're even worse off than we are, by all estimates.."
Sszeyl:"Gnogglebolt, could you explain why the Swiftaxes can't go wandering through the woods looking for bears, wolves, and elk to kill with this catfolk?"
Liatai:(Aside: Indeed. >.>;;)
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt raises an eyebrow at Sszeyl. "..Pardon? Explain to Barbarus?"
Sszeyl:"I have tried…but my skill in this language is lacking."
Gnogglebolt:*Explain to barbarus, you mean?
Sszeyl:"Yes."
Barbarus:"It's so nice being referred to as 'catfolk' I almost want to kneecap you in thanks, Drow. »"
Gnogglebolt:"Ah…well, I don't know his native tongue, but…" The gnome turns to the catfolk again. "What's going on, now?"
Barbarus:"I'll help out these Swiftaxe people, I'll teach them what I know, and help them find some jobs, even let go of my work at a discount. But in return, I want them to use their manpower to help me obtain meat and skins from the forest animals around here. I need raw materials to teach with an sell. >:["
Sszeyl:"And therein lies the problem."
Gnogglebolt:"…Indeed. I am sorry, barbarus, but that isn't going to work. For one, you wouldn't be able to do this for likely a few months, anyway."
Gnogglebolt:"The Swiftaxes -are- going to be punished through Castleton's justice system, but we're going to push and make sure it's as short as possible and it is community service."
Gnogglebolt:"You won't be able to do anything with them until they are through."
Gnogglebolt:"And even then, I have actually already found a guide for them. A man by the name of Ezekiel Chirehan. He is a scholar, and familiar with goblin culture and their languages."
Kor:Kor wakes up drowsily, and stretches on the table, before he turns about.. and sees Barbarus. Giant. Freaking. CAT. He immediately looks to Tathi. Uhh, could I have another shocking grasp? Please?
Liatai:XDBarbarus:"A scholar. Pah. Learn from books and not from doing."
Barbarus:"A book won't teach them how to fashion a pelt into a lady's coat to tell, now will it?"
Tathi:"Apply what you learn from literature or the words will never make it past your eyes."
Barbarus:sell*
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt furrows his brow at Barbarus and holds up the several books in his hands."
- Barbarus Poker Faces.
Ghostwish:I think a poker face would be a bluff check. :P
Barbarus:Bluff doesn't work on PCs.
Barbarus::oLiatai:Ghost raises a good point. :B
Gnogglebolt:"I don't suppose a person of the wild appreciates the value of literature much, but I assure you, I have learned many things from books, and applied them to the 'real world', as you call it."
Ghostwish:In that case, you automatically fail. >:P
Gnogglebolt:"Ezekiel is competant."
Dr. Hatari:(Maptool is overlaid on Eve right now.. in which my character is named Ezekiel. I totally just did a double-take.)
Liatai:XD XD
Ghostwish:XD XD
TMG:(lulz xD )
Dr. Hatari:("OH NO THEY'RE MIXING.")
Ghostwish:GNOMES IN SPAAAAACE…
Liatai:Well, at least Gnogglebolt says you're competent? :P
Barbarus:"Fine. :T"
- Barbarus pointedly turns nose up at the gnome, and turns to face the wall.
- Sszeyl rubs the bridge of his nose.
Faerie:Buh, sorry about that.
Faerie:Off of the call now.
Liatai:It's OK. :3 RL takes precedence over pretendy fun times.
Faerie:I really should be doing homework though, but I suppose I'm still here.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt shrugs. "For what it's worth, you idea has -merit-, barbarus, but as I said, you would not be able to carry it out until several months from now."
TMG:(erk. Crap. Gnogglebolt's got something he wants to talk about, but he CAN'T without Elros :( )
Barbarus:"And several months from now, my caravan might be on the coast for all I know. :T"
Faerie:I mean, I dunno, is there an end in sight, or is everyone else still going?
TMG:(We'll have to end the session if Alex can't come in soon…)
Barbarus: (( Or would it? » ))
TMG:alex; not sure how long ago, but meany had said that he only had two and a half hours left himself
TMG:but that may have been an hour ago
Faerie:The issue is, I can maybe stay on for a bit, but I need to do homework for an engineering class.
Meany:Thirty-eight minutes ago.
Liatai:He could always split from the caravan for a bit, and rejoin it next time it swings through Castleton, Meany… >.>
Gnogglebolt:"Exactly my point." Gogglebolt says, nodding to Barbarus.
Faerie:Which…Doesn't look -too- bad, but I'm not going to rush through it, either.
- Liatai nods.
Gnogglebolt:"Oh, and then, of course, can you speak their language?"
Gnogglebolt:"Only three of their number speak the common tongue."
TMG:(unless I miscounted)
Ghostwish:Ah, Liatai, I just remembered.. where might this urban encounter table be? :>
Liatai:Well, four understand Common, but only three can speak it. :P Your count was accurate in that respect.
TMG:so yeah…if you can come bak in at all, Alex, that would be great.
Liatai:DMG page 101, I believe. :3
Faerie:Well, do you mean right now, or later?
TMG:Otherwise,, we'll have to end the session very soon and pick it up next week…
TMG:Er.
Ghostwish:Me thanks. :>
Liatai:It is an awesome table. x3
TMG:Okay. Meany, you have a maximum of two hours left here?
Faerie:Two hours is almost midnight for me, and I have an 8AM class.
Faerie:>.>;
Meany:I have one hour, nineteen minutes.
TMG:Whu? Well—agh. Also; shoot.
TMG:Alright, alright.
Liatai:Then let's call it here and start with Elros' arrival next Sunday. :3
TMG:Alex; can you or can you not do at least half an hour now, preferably an hour? :B
Liatai:Today was kind of a wonky session timing-wise, anyway.
Faerie:Sorry for being a wet blanket. :x
Meany:It's okay.
Meany:I'm not much of a happy camper here either. :B
Liatai:You gave Elros some great characterization earlier, so it evens out. :3
Ghostwish:« 1d20+4 = 6 + 4 = 10 »
Ghostwish:Meh.
Ghostwish:« 1d20+4 = 15 + 4 = 19 »
Liatai:What are the rolls for?
Liatai:Random encounters? :P
Ghostwish:Ooooo. BWEHEHEHEHEHE. :>
TMG:So…alex? you there?
Techubi has connected.
Meany:YoDr. Hatari:You guys wrapping up already, then?
Faerie:Yeah, sorta.
Ghostwish:Golly but this session is starting to get crowded. Heya TC! :>
TMG:Not sure. Alex hasn't answer yet.
Liatai:Yeah, unfortunately. >:TMG:Alex?
Ghostwish:This would mark the shortest session we've had yet. XD
Faerie:I thought we were wrapping up though.
Liatai:Timing today was just… blah.
Liatai:It should be better next week. :3
TMG:Gha. -_-
Ghostwish:Tech, what level is AT-4 again?
Liatai:Besides, we had mini-sessions all week to make up for it. :3
Meany:Well, if the GM says we call it. :P
Meany is disconnected.
TMG:I wanted to make -some- progress today, which I could if we all sit down and play for at -least- half an hour
TMG:ARGH
Ghostwish:XDTechubi is disconnected.
Techubi is disconnected.
Dr. Hatari:I think I will now forever narrate TMG with the Charlie Brown voice.
Techubi has connected.
TMG:Later. Not in the mood, man.
Ghostwish:Tech, what level is AT-4 again?
GM:Hey! Ghost, no mixing the campaign settings! :P
TMG:(seven, liek evryone else x[ )
TMG:*like
Ghostwish:But.. but.. the evil plotting!!!
Dr. Hatari:Hmmm?
Faerie:I'm sorry, again. :x
TMG:Righto. So, I geuss we all agree;
TMG:no more mini-sessions on game day, ever? :B
GM:Weeeeell, if it's for the sake of plotting… :P But really, I'm sorry, all. It was just a rotten timing week.
TMG:And I'll just have this log added to the mini-session marathon
Liatai:Agreed. ^^'
TMG:the real session 22 is next week…
Techubi is disconnected.
Techubi is disconnected.
Liatai:Righto. Everyone got their tokens saved that want to save them?
Faerie:Hang on
Liatai:Because the server's going out in 3… *pauses*
Ghostwish:Nuttin' changed on mine, so I'm good! See you in IRC!
Ghostwish is disconnected.
Faerie:There we go, saved.
Faerie:I'll be on IRC still, but I'll be doing homework.
Liatai:All righty. Server going down in 3…
Liatai:2…
Liatai:1…
You have disconnected.
