Liatai:Kor, you will have to fight for your right to gorge on cheese! >:D
TMG:what map are we on? Wel left off on Forest D, right?
Kor:AVEEEENGEEENNCEE!
Ezer:Ooh, a rat and cheese. How delicious.
Liatai:Yep, go to Forest B or Forest D. Right now, we're between maps, so it doesn't matter much.
Kor:O.O Tathi! I need shocking grasp!
Liatai:I'd suggest preloading Forest D, however.
Tathi:Tough luck.
Kor:T_T
TMG:ohh, forest -B- is where we left off. huh.
Ezer:Ezer puts on his innocent face.
Ezer:I do that, even.
GM:So, four people…. Just waiting on Hatari and Meany.
MeanyOwl has connected.
GM:Speak of the owl! x3
Ghostwish:Hatari's not on messenger, so I can't spam the fark out of em. :P
Ghostwish:DM.
Ghostwish:How's the weather? :P
GM:« 1d100 = 100 »
Ghostwish:OSHIT
Ghostwish:OSHIT
GM:…. oh heck. XD
Ghostwish:What have I done!?!?
GM:You HAD to ask. XP
Ghostwish:I know. T_T
VAE:Hurricane?
Dr. Hatari has connected.
MeanyOwl:DOKTOR
TMG:…Ummmm :B
MeanyOwl:RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
TMG:Aren't we still on the same day?
GM:Hatari! Blame Ghost for the weather. XP
TMG:So are we NOT going to have the same situation as ghost's game? :B
MeanyOwl:No, today is yesterday. :V
GM:Don't worry, I won't spring it on you… suddenly. >:3
TMG:er…no? We left off right at the edge of witch territory, we're about to tavel the river
Ghostwish:It's no use Tech.
Ghostwish:I've doomed us all.
TMG:so whatever the weather already is today, it should stay that way :B
Ghostwish:It's no use Tech.
Ghostwish:Resistence is futile.
GM:ToDAY.
TMG:(hatari; Liatai rolled a nat 100 on the d100 weather check ^^; )
GM:ToDAY doesn't have anything to do with toNIGHT. >:3
VAE:Resistance is futile, you will be short-circuited
Kor:TOTALLY sleeping inside the tent this time. TOTALLY no reason. TOTALLY not metagaming.
- GM cackles! >:D
MeanyOwl:Three minutes.
MeanyOwl:Everyone, start your idea engines.
Dr. Hatari::oGhostwish:For?
MeanyOwl:MADNESS.
Ghostwish:That's default!
GM:It might be a good time to ask this now. Does anyone want to change the NPC they're controlling in battle, or are we staying the same?
MeanyOwl:I do.
MeanyOwl:I am -not- ruining the Eagle's good luck again. :[
TMG:x3TMG:I can keep the bard
Ghostwish:I like me sniper. :>
Liatai:x3 Well, if someone else wants to change, you're welcome to switch.
MeanyOwl::UTMG:…is it just me, or does the map seem a little laggy?
Liatai:Or, you can pass off the druid to Faerie, if he wants him, and you can go without controlling an NPC.
MeanyOwl:Which map are we on?
Liatai:Forest B or D, your choice for now. Though I'd suggest preloading D.
Dr. Hatari:Can I.. can I control another PC? :U
Liatai:No. XP
Faerie:I'll take an NPC if anyone doesn't want one. :B
VAE:can *i* control Hatari?
MeanyOwl:You may have the Druid, if you so wish. :>
Liatai:What do you say, Fae? Want a druid? :3
TMG:Hmm. Just map B is laggy for some reason.
MeanyOwl:GAMETEIM
- MeanyOwl launches beyblade.
TMG:*plays the beyblade theme song*
Liatai:Hatari, VAE, you good with your NPCs?
VAE:well, i have only one
Dr. Hatari:Sure am. :3
VAE:sadly Miron has no Beridze
Aelian:My ears are so very beautiful.
Tathi:Mine are bigger.
Aelian:T_T
Faerie:Sure, I've never played a druid before, but why not?
Liatai:Also!
Faerie:…
- Faerie snrk at Tathi and Aelian
Dr. Hatari:I think he's mostly out of spells, so it shouldn't be so bad. |3
Ghostwish:I was just told that Aelian is somewhat obsessive with his elven heritage. :P
Liatai:Even if you've controlled the NPC before, you might want to look at their token. I've added a few things to each one. Forest D has the updated one. :3
- Liatai points Ghost to the token. I've expanded on that. x3
MeanyOwl:GAH
TMG:"Pickin' up speend, runnin' outta time, goin' head-to-head, it's a way of life, ya gotta FALL, DOWN! MEET GROUND! To get back up again!"
MeanyOwl:I try double clicking, and it decides I'm trying to move. :/
MeanyOwl:Sorry, Lia.
Liatai:Not a problem. x3
Liatai:It does that to me, too. If I'd really wanted to keep you guys completely in the dark, I'd have boxed you in with VBL. XP
TMG:…hey, where'd the box on map D go? :B
Dr. Hatari:The most delicious mammal of them all. :U
Faerie:Liatai: Just checking on token properties, does "0-4-spells" mean 0 of 4 remaining?
Wild Boar:Oink oink. :B
Liatai:Oh! No, it means "Level 0 spells, 4 spells per day."
Faerie:Ah!
Liatai:If a spell name has a (*) next to it, that means it's been used.
Faerie:I see.
Barbarus: (( So. ))
Faerie:One * per use?
Barbarus: (( Shall we get this ball rolling? :3 ))
Liatai:Not exactly. Druids prepare their spells, so it means that spell's been used and can't be used again today.
Liatai:You'll notice Cure Minor Wounds is on there twice; that means he's prepared to cast it twice today. :3
- Dr. Hatari is just getting sheets and music and such in order. Hmm~hmm.
Faerie:Oh, oh, I see.
- Liatai is also getting music in order…
GM:Chime in when you're ready to go!
Ghostwish:MEOW MIX MEOW MIX
TMG:sheet open, checking last log…
Faerie:Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow!
VAE:MROW! MROW!
- You roll to yourself: 1d20+6 => 7 + 6 = 13
Dr. Hatari:As set up as I'll ever be. |3
GM:Meany, you're set to go, yes?
Barbarus: (( Not just yet. Being forced to relocate. ))
TMG:…I still cannot get over the cute lil' MInktokens.
Dr. Hatari:x3TMG:The current one looks as if he's trying to peek out of the token frame itself xD
GM:Hee. x3 It's one of my favorites, that's for sure.
GM:Though so is this one. :B
Barbarus: (( Yo. Less do diss. ))
GM:When we last left our intrepid travellers, they were drenched and covered in pumpkin.
Ghostwish:shuttin' mah eve'
Ghostwish:s down. :>
GM:Having soundly routed the vegetable menace, they now travel along the creek, in search of the witch Briarthorn's lair…
TMG:(er, isn't it briarclaw? :B )
TMG:(or is the witch Briarthorn, and the druid gruop Briarclaw?)
GM:Briarclaw. Yes. Had a momentary flashback moment. XP
TMG:*group
GM:In her rough draft stage, she was called Freida Briarthorn. But anyway! Trivia aside. XD
Koehel:During the walk along the creekside, Koehel begins to shift around and ruffle his feathers, hunkering down on Kethanis' shoulder.
Barbarus:« 1d20+4 = 20 + 4 = 24 » Spot. « 1d20+5 = 13 + 5 = 18 » Listen. :V
Tathi:"Eyes up here, cat."
- Kethanis Whitebranch pauses, walking behind the rest of the group, and looks up at the sky. "… There's a storm coming."
Gnogglebolt:As the party begins to head out again, this time following the creek, Gnogglebolt speaks up.
Gnogglebolt:"Scouts, if you wish, you can proceed ahead of us to see if you can find anything that might mark Briarclaw's lair. If you see it, or if you see some other group of minions, do -not- engage, but return to us so that we may move in force."
Gnogglebolt:"And if there are other groups of minions in between here and wherever the lair is, we'll probably want to avoid as many of them outright as possible.
Faerie:…those fiendish ravens. Can we see them?
TMG:I don't think we're actually there yet >.>
Aelian:"Scouting is something I am quite good at. Shall I move ahead?"
TMG:as far as I know, we're still on map B and about to follow the river
TMG:we've got a ways to go
Barbarus:"I shall accompany you. :V
Barbarus:"Faerie:Oh, alright then.
Tathi:"Elven stealth?" Tathi says with a smirk.
Aelian:The ranger gives Tathi a look.
Drayco has connected.
Jalzar:"We may not have a choice," the lizardfolk grumbles.
Ghostwish:OPEN FIRE!
Elros:"I shall assist as well."
Ghostwish:*sprays Drayco*
Tokens dropped onto map 'Forest D'
Avatar:"Welllcome!"
Jalzar:"If we could only locate the means by which she controls those foul birds. Our approach would stand a far better chance of success."
Tathi:"I would suspect it is magical.. but it would not surprise me if she has passed off that duty to some manner of control device."
Tathi:Knowledge arcane, for such a thing? « 1d20+14 = 7 + 14 = 21 » Knowledge, Arcane! +1 if it's evocation!
Drayco:Inumo's looking for IP address.
Drayco:…Nevermind…
TMG:inumo's got the wrong version
TMG:he can't get in, period. :B
Drayco:Yes, hence the "nevermind".
Drayco:Gotta go, sorry.
Drayco is disconnected.
Liatai:Be right back, sorry. ^^;
Gnogglebolt:"Hmm. I don't know much about magic, but if she really has such a limitation, it would be quite advantageous to strike her operation there."
Tathi:"Or.. she could just be asking them for help."
- Thomas Lazarus shrugs. "That's been my hypothesis.
Thomas Lazarus:"Tathi:She looks to the group. "I know it sounds crazy, but nearly all fiends, of all types, understand select languages and can be.. reasoned with to a degree."
Gnogglebolt:"Hrmph. Oh well."
Thomas Lazarus:"She would have to be some kind of arch-heirophant to simultaneously control the entire forest's worth of fiends with magic, wouldn't she?"
Tathi:"Quite."
Barbarus:"Don't give the universe ideas, Tom."
Thomas Lazarus:It's fine, we're not high level eno—*SMACK* D:Liatai:*snrk*
Tathi:She quirks an eyebrow at Barbarus. "What's that supposed to mean, kitty? You act if some evil yet incredibly cute being of terrible power is watching us right now."
GM:*peeeeeeer*
Elros:If she were to have such a device or spell though, would she not place its source somewhere guarded? We may have to fight our way in just to find it.
Barbarus:"Well of course. :O"
Gnogglebolt:"…Erm. Anyway. So, go on ahead, scouts, and if you see any enemy groups, come back and tell us of them, so we can avoid them."
Gnogglebolt:"And, Kethanis, if you were a witch who controled devilish animals, what sort of telltale signs would mark where your lair is?"
Miron:pffft
Gnogglebolt:"Sings that may not actually be obvious?"
Gnogglebolt:*signs
Aelian:Ohhhh DM, where be my skillz? :P
Kethanis Whitebranch:"It's hard to say, I wouldn't even fathom the idea if it were me." ^^; "But…"
- Thomas Lazarus sweatdrops.
Miron:If he was a witch , he'd take care not to leave marks/
Tathi:"If I may pipe in? If she's half worth her spells, her lair will probably be hidden in some fashion."
Aelian:« 1d20+8 = 3 + 8 = 11 » Spot, « 1d20+7 = 16 + 7 = 23 » Listen.
- Kethanis Whitebranch nods.
Ghostwish:well I was meaning sneak and stuff but okay! :P
Kethanis Whitebranch:"If it were not well-hidden, I would assume she would have been routed much sooner…"
Gnogglebolt:"Well, of course her lair would be hidden. I'm just wondering if there's anything that would let the scouts know of something that is hidden."
Elros:Elros looks around. spot « 1d20+10 = 12 + 10 = 22 »
Elros:And for the heck of it, listen « 1d20+8 = 14 + 8 = 22 »
Gnogglebolt:"Anyway, we'll begin walking along the river now, scouts, go on ahead of us…"
Kethanis Whitebranch:"She would likely pick a place with very little worked material, I would imagine. Beyond that, I'm uncertain."
Aelian:And a stealthily scouting I go!
Miron:Hmm, we are thinking of it a wrong way
- Dr. Hatari can't help but notice the '#21' with dread. =3=;
Miron:Let's see.. what location would be the most strategic for the lair?
Barbarus:« 1d20+4 = 13 + 4 = 17 » Spot. « 1d20+5 = 10 + 5 = 15 » Listen. :V This time on possible lairs.
Barbarus:Er…
Barbarus:« 1d20+4 = 12 + 4 = 16 » Search. :V
Liatai:All three of you scouts first notice the boar in the center of a small clearing, snuffling along the riverside and munching on water plants. « 1d20+6 = 18 + 6 = 24 » « 1d20+2 = 12 + 2 = 14 »
Dr. Hatari:Mass Effect 2 - Suicide Mission just started playing. How cute.
Aelian:BAACOOONNN
Aelian:Kidding. :P
Liatai:And then… the eyes in the trees. Well over twenty of them, small, red, and keen, looking down at the river and sitting as still as statues. Ravens.
Aelian:Aelian grunts softly. "Birds, lots of them." He says quietly.
Barbarus:"I see them."
Kethanis Whitebranch:"Somewhere fortified, likely. If it were me, I would prefer an open grove… but considering she consorts with fiends, she may prefer something more reminiscent of their home territories."
Miron:Hmm, that might be sentries.. .we are getting close i guess
Elros:"I see them as well. And if that is the case, I must assume they've already seen us."
Liatai:… Miron, you're not with the scouts, are you? x3
TMG:erm!~
TMG:Miron, we're not with the scouts
Aelian:"Perhaps we should head back and tell the others."
VAE:urgh
Fiendish Raven 14:The birds give no sign that they have seen you, or that they haven't. They're just sitting still in the trees, watching.
VAE:though, the scouts are maybe 10 metres in front
TMG:er, danman.
TMG:It's not to scale x3
TMG:Imaaaaaagination.
TMG:Pretend the group is a ways back along the river. x3
VAE:see? That's why drawn maps are better
VAE:this stuff is confusing
TMG:…Erm, not
TMG:it's that there IS no map for where the main group is
Kethanis Whitebranch:"… Someone more familiar with fiends may be able to describe what to look for better. I am not so well-acquainted with knowledge of the lower planes." ^^;
VAE:exactly
TMG:…
Jalzar:"I can only tell you that I heard water."
Tathi:« 1d20+4 = 16 + 4 = 20 » knowledge, planes!
TMG:there is no map because it -doesn't matter-. When I was a DM, I would only lay down a map for areas that had combat
TMG:everything else was pretend
Luethil Aellonor:"… Stone. The floor and walls were rocky. We might be looking for a cave."
VAE:exactly!
Elros:"That may be wise. We're not to engage, after all."
Gnogglebolt:"A watery cave? Hmm that is a good start…"
Aelian:"Right then. Let's head back and let them know we've seen sentries."
TMG:danman; yes, exactly. The main group is in a place that has no combat.
TMG:Ergo, no map. :B
VAE:but they aare placed confusingly enough …
Edaric:"Hope the scouts haven't gotten in any trouble. They've been gone a while."
Barbarus:"Very good. Let's go. :O"
- Wild Boar begins to snort and paw at the river's side in an agitated way.
Barbarus:« 1d20+4 = 6 + 4 = 10 » Knowledge Nature on such behaviour? :o
Thomas Lazarus:"If they were in trouble.. I would feel it in my gut, I think." ^^;
Aelian:The scouts head back! :>
Gnogglebolt:gnogglebot continues walking along the river with the others, casting his eyes about for anything that seems unusual, though he hardly even knows what 'usual' is :B
Thomas Lazarus:"Perhaps a bit more literally than I'd like."
TMG:and after an indeterminant amount of time, the scouts return?
Liatai:Waiting to see if Meany responds to the results of his check…
Elros:Verrily we do head back! And report the results of our trip to the main group. "Up ahead, 5 ravens in a tree. Look to be about the same as all the other ravens we've encountered. And a wild boar, that doesn't look like trouble."
Barbarus:"That's…not right."
TMG:alex; may have spoken too soon ^^;
Faerie:^^;;
Aelian:"I saw 10, 10 evil birds."
Barbarus:"Thirteen."
Aelian:"Twelve!"
Barbarus:"Five in each tree, three on the rockface."
Faerie:…whup, I'm a dunce.
- Faerie hadn't scrolled out to see the rest of the map. >.>
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt blinks. "Okay, so there's a lot of them."
- Thomas Lazarus sighs quietly.
Edaric:"Rockface?"
Gnogglebolt:"Right, best avoid them if we can…"
Barbarus:"Yeah, large rocky outcropping ahead."
Tathi:"That could contain the lair."
Thomas Lazarus:"Sounds like that's worth a look."
- Thomas Lazarus nods to Luethil
Barbarus:"Um…can anyone here cast that spell that detects other spells?"
Barbarus:"Because…I think there might be something in the water."
- Thomas Lazarus nods again after a pause.
Edaric:"I can."
Elros:"I'm not exactly sure how we could avoid them, without going hugely out of our way."
Edaric:"Detect Magic? I can."
TMG:x3TMG:Sorry, dialoge for the DM, my bad ^^;
Liatai:x3Tathi:She quirks an eyebrow at Barbarus. "What's got you concerned, kitten?"
Gnogglebolt:"Hrm. Are the ravens close to that outcropping?"
Barbarus:"A wild boar stopped to drink from the river, and is slowly becoming more aggitated up ahead."
Gnogglebolt:"If so, then yes, we may indeed have to engage them…"
Barbarus:"Three of them are sitting on it."
Kethanis Whitebranch:"… That would explain a great deal…"
Miron:Anyone has any area-based spells left over?
Elros:"And those that aren't sitting on it have a view of it, I should think."
- Dr. Hatari read that as 3 ravens sitting on the boar. Now picturing Boartron. >:o
Gnogglebolt:"Hmm…tactical options…"
Gnogglebolt:"Is it just the boar and the ravens?"
Tathi:"There's always the blast them all to peices and go in wands blazing decision. Or our scouts could try and find a way to sneak us in."
Kethanis Whitebranch:"The farms that have been reporting problems with their animals' behavior are all situated along this creek, or are close enough to it that a grazing animal might stop for a drink…" The druid seems lost in thought.
Elros:"As far as I could tell, yes."
Miron:If we strike first…. perhaps we scare them with a noise and blast a volley of arrows as they leave the tree?
Thomas Lazarus:"Respectfully.. we've come all this way, and are presuming to break into her lair. We have a strong concentrated force here. I propose we storm."
Tathi:She looks to Kethanis. "Now that is disturbing. Let's have a check with this water.." She says, and did anyone else detect magic on the water yet?
Gnogglebolt:"And Kethanis, forgive me, but my memory of magic gets cloudy—do any of the potions you gave us have the capacity to hide us from the devilish animals?"
Luethil Aellonor:"Scare them? They'll just fly off and report back to their master!"
Tathi:"They are fiendish, Luethil.. fear amoung them is rare."
Kethanis Whitebranch:"Unfortunately, no. They would work on the boar, but only if no one attacked anything else while under the spell's influence."
Gnogglebolt:"Hrm. I thought not. Well then, here is my tactical proposal…" Gnogglebolt looks to the whole group, possibly arranged ina ring now
Edaric:"I'll try checking for magic…" The bard strums a quiet chord and looks into the water, eyes glowing faintly blue for a moment. "… Yep. Lots of enchantment magic on this river."
Barbarus:Yeah, Barbie ain't flying with that formation.
Gnogglebolt:"We know two things about the ravens. One, they have no means of attacking at range, and two, they appear very fragile. It takes very little to bring one down."
Gnogglebolt:"And it is reported there are many of them."
Tathi:"Don't drink the water, folks." Tathi says, wrinkling her nose a bit.
- Thomas Lazarus frowns to himself. Almost everyone nearly drowned in that water.. this may require a trip to the temple after the mission.
Gnogglebolt:"In all our previous engagements, there were smaller numbers of them, and even when letting loose, we never have been able to take them all down at range before at least one has a chance to fly away."
Thomas Lazarus:"..Indeed.."
Gnogglebolt:"So I propose that we do not try. Everyone stow your ranged weapons and conserve your ammunition. We shall move in a turtle formation, and be prepared to swat any of the ravens as soon as they close on us."
Gnogglebolt:"And if they decide to fly in the other direction, well, as said, there's nothing we can do about it anyway."
Aelian:"Perhaps those of us with better aim than sword hands should stay in the center of this formation. To deal with any that try to fly away."
Gnogglebolt:"The witch is already aware of our approach, though she may or may not know how close we are. If she does, then even sucess would not help. If she doesn't, she doesn't learn much more than she already knows."
Gnogglebolt:"Especially if she -is- in that cave."
Elros:"If we intend to reach the rock outcropping, that may be our best plan. And if this is her lair, I doubt we have much stealth left anyway."
Barbarus:Suddenly, blades sprout from the cat's leg, wrist, and elbow.
Barbarus::3Aelian:"!"
Thomas Lazarus:"That sounds like an excellent idea to me. I must admit, it's practically embarassing treating ravens like a military threat."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt tilts his head at Aelian.
Gnogglebolt:"As said, that may nt be necessary."
Gnogglebolt:"Let us simply ignore them as best as we can, and make a break for the outcropping. No wasting ranged ammunition."
Miron:Everything is a military threat. A raven pecking at your eye can prove a most crucial distractiion, never mind that in a war, information is often what determines the outcome.
Gnogglebolt:"If the water is tainted and it's coming from that cave, I would say that makes it very likely that it is the witch's lair."
Barbarus:"You seem to forget."
- Thomas Lazarus sighs at the expected rebuke. "..Brother, she's like, 500 yards away somewhere if we're right. And they weigh less than a potatoe."
Barbarus:"The boar is still there, and they…are quite dangerous. :/"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt looks at Barbarus.
Gnogglebolt:"I had not forgotten. The toughest among us will be the head of this turtle formation."
Barbarus:"Then it's a spear-head formation?"
Luethil Aellonor:"Does it really matter? It's a raven-paste-making formation."
- Thomas Lazarus offers the elf a small smirk.
Tathi:"Seconded. Shields and platemail up front, large, two handed weapons next, ranged folk behind them, spellcasters in the rear.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt chortles. "Indeed, let us not waste time on terminology. The weakest of us will be center, ringed by the tougher ones, with the tough-est- at the front. Everyone ready for it?"
Thomas Lazarus:"Mm."
Gnogglebolt:"Ah! ANd especially!"
GM:Take this time to arrange yourselves!
Miron:I'll go ahead then
Gnogglebolt:"While we're at not wasting arrows on the birds, -especially- do not waste any spells on them, anyone!"
Gnogglebolt:"Save all spells for when we enter the cave. A solid blow from any weapon can deal with a raven."
Thomas Lazarus:"I appreciate your bravery, brother, but your armor is lacking."
Tathi:Tathi rolls her eyes. "You hate magic, but you're ever so persistent about preserving it.." She mutters.
- Jalzar gives a deep chuckle at the elf's statement.
Miron:Magic is a powerful tool, like any other.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt flatly glances at Tathi. "More out of 'no better option'. I may dislike magic, but I am no fool. It is our only explosive asset at this point."
Miron:Gnogglebolt is rather sensible in his appproach
Honduras:Hee-haw. Where do I go, master?
Barbarus:"Thomas."
Thomas Lazarus:"Very well."
Barbarus:"Can you ride a war-mule?"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt pulls out his morningstar, but stays in the center of the formation.
Thomas Lazarus:"I—ah.. I've.. never even ridden a horse. ^^;"
Barbarus:"We'll have to fix that later, then."
Miron:*Miron pulls out his masterwork mace*
Barbarus:« 1d20+3 = 15 + 3 = 18 » Handle Animal!
Gnogglebolt:"Wait…Tathi, trade place with me."
Elros:Elros pulls out his two swords as well.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt moves out of the center.
Gnogglebolt:"I at least am wearing -some- armor, while you are not."
- Thomas Lazarus offers Honduras a reassuring pat. "I'll keep you safe, friend."
Aelian:Grudginly, Aelian shoulders his bow and draws a longsword.
Tathi:"I would think that would mean you should be on the outside then, Gnogglebolt."
Ghostwish:oh. XD
Gnogglebolt:"There. Perfect."
Thomas Lazarus:"Let's advance."
GM:Last call, is this what you want?
Ghostwish:FORWAAAARD. MARCH.
Barbarus:« 1d20+3 = 9 + 3 = 12 » Handle Animal. :V
TMG:Clear.
GM:And let's roll initiative just to get it out of the way.
Barbarus:« 1d20+2 = 3 + 2 = 5 »
Thomas Lazarus:« 1d20 = 12 »
Gnogglebolt:Init! « 1d20+1 = 8 + 1 = 9 »
Tathi:« 1d20+3 = 19 + 3 = 22 » init!
Elros:init « 1d20+3 = 7 + 3 = 10 »
Luethil Aellonor:« 1d20+2 = 9 + 2 = 11 »
Miron:« 1d20 = 2 »
Miron:wee
Gnogglebolt:And pre-readying an action to swing his morningstar at anything that gets within range.
Miron has received initiative.
Liatai:Whoops. XD Don't mind me.
Dr. Hatari:Note that you can program your own characters initiative in the sidebar, if anyone cares to expediate things. :B
TMG:No surprise round, since we're all heading straight for known combat, and as we're not opening up with any ranged attacks, they won't be surprised either
Ghostwish:Holy crap. So you can!!! Nice catch, Hatari!
TMG:Uh, yeah :.
Dr. Hatari:Just saying, since our PC force is like a dozen strong. x3
Jalzar:« 1d20+1 = 8 + 1 = 9 »
VAE:screw this.. i have to run across things to refresh them all the time
VAE:real wonderful b85 is
TMG:…okay. Are there any -other- features you people would like that MT -may- already have that I may already know about? xD
Ghostwish:do what VAE?
Edaric:« 1d20+1 = 18 + 1 = 19 »
TMG:danman; post on the MT form.
TMG:Attach a screenshot, anf give them your specs
Aelian:« 1d20+4 = 12 + 4 = 16 »
TMG:*and
Kethanis Whitebranch:« 1d20+1 = 18 + 1 = 19 »
Ghostwish:aw, thought our NPC buddies were going on our turns. :P
Liatai:« 1d20+2 = 15 + 2 = 17 »
VAE:i won't , until my game on thursday (hopefully) - i have to check whether it happens in b63 too
Liatai:« 1d20 = 8 »
Dr. Hatari:That would have just been smarter. But here we go. :B
VAE:to make sure whether it's computer or maptool fault
TMG:haven't you BEEN running b83 for as long as we were? o.O
Ghostwish:Or you could just ask us? :P
TMG:erp
TMG:63Liatai:Are we done cursing MapTool and ready to go?
TMG:I'm ready :B
Ghostwish:I am! :P
VAE:yes , but on a different machine, silly
Dr. Hatari:Mmhmm.
Wild Boar:As the party draws closer, the boar wheels around with a loud SQUEEEEEAL! The ravens all snap their heads around as well, glaring down at the group as one.
Tathi has received initiative.
Tathi:"Here we go!" She says, aiming for lucky number thirteen! She takes aim with her shortbow, and lets an arrow fly! « 1d20+5 = 9 + 5 = 14 » for « 1d6 = 3 » damage!
Fiendish Raven 14:AWK! And one raven falls!
Thomas Lazarus:"—I take it they're not so territorial as to provoke a phalanx of armored humans?"
Edaric has received initiative.
- Thomas Lazarus glances around after a moment. Oh wait. ^^;
Gnogglebolt:Does my readied action remain?
Liatai:Yep!
TMG:Okay. Anything that comes in range, smack…
TMG:brb
Dr. Hatari:I keep forgetting humans are a tiny racial minority. :B
Liatai:… Tech, what about Edaric? :B
Ghostwish:How weird.
Ghostwish:Tathi must bend the rules of time and reality even when she's not casting spells.
TMG:Oh! Edaric pulls out his rapier and dagger and readies the same action
Ghostwish:Cuz, ya know, she aimed for 13, yet killed 14 somehow. :P
Kethanis Whitebranch has received initiative.
- Ghostwish teases the DM ruthlesly.
Liatai:… Oh. XD
Ghostwish:SWERVE SHOT. XP
Fiendish Raven 13:There, now I'm dead instead.
Liatai:Fae, you here?
Faerie:Oh!
Faerie:Derp :B
Liatai:Druid's turn. :3
Faerie:I realize
- Faerie thinks
TMG:same schitck as my guys, as per the plan?
TMG:Save spells, move with group, prepare to smack anything in range?
Faerie:Kethanis looks around, while drawing his sling. He takes aim at Raven 7, and fires! « 1d20+3 = 3 + 3 = 6 »
TMG:Or that…
Faerie:…man, I am full of derp.
Faerie:It's within range, I think.
Liatai:The sling stone whiffs through the tree branches. Fortunately, rocks are easy enough to find on the riverside, so no need to worry about wasting ammunition. x3
TMG:Ooh :o shoot! Put a pause for just one sec. Liatai, can you fiat we all move as a group, or do we need to do that on our own? There -is- a way to do it… (with some slight finagling)
Fiendish Raven 7:The birds in the trees all spread their wings and glide in, talons extended, with a shriek.
Kethanis Whitebranch:"Hmm. River rocks must aim differently than what I'm used to."
Liatai:I can move you forward as a group, 20 feet per round. :3
Dr. Hatari:Sounds clean. Let's just do that during Turn transitions?
TMG:If we have to do it on our own, then we can do it by everyone readying an action to move forward on on someone's command on their turn, and then after everyone's readied, someone shouts the "forward" command. Repeat ad infinatum.
Fiendish Raven 7:« 1d20+4 = 7 + 4 = 11 »!
TMG:but yes, that works too ^^
Fiendish Raven 7:The first raven's claws barely even scratch the lizardfolk's hide… Here comes another one aiming for Edaric! Get ready to swat!
Dr. Hatari:Well, it's a standard action to ready, so.. could be messy.
Edaric:Mwk rapier - « 1d20+3 = 3 + 3 = 6 » « 1d6+1 = 1 + 1 = 2 »!
Dr. Hatari:..This plan has famously not survived contact with the enemy, anyway. :3
Fiendish Raven 15:« 1d20+4 = 3 + 4 = 7 » as the rapier slices just under the bird.
Fiendish Raven 21:« 1d20+4 = 6 + 4 = 10 » on the mule!
Fiendish Raven 9:This one can't quite reach the group.
Fiendish Raven 14:This one can! « 1d20+4 = 11 + 4 = 15 » on Miron!
Fiendish Raven 14:1 damage to the gnome as fiendish talons rake his face.
Fiendish Raven 5:« 1d20+4 = 9 + 4 = 13 » to Elros!
Fiendish Raven 6:This one provokes an AoO from Miron as it swoops in…
Miron:« 1d20+3 = 3 + 3 = 6 » as he swings at it with his trusty mace
Aelian has received initiative.
Elros:Elros's armor easily takes the hit, whether or not his AC is exactly current on the sheet.
Aelian:The ranger takes aim for #7! He fires off a quick volley at close range! « 1d20+7 = 20 + 7 = 27 » for « 1d8+1 = 7 + 1 = 8 » and « 1d20+7 = 16 + 7 = 23 » for « 1d8+1 = 3 + 1 = 4 »
Miron:And barely avoids hitting Luethil
Aelian:« 1d20+7 = 10 + 7 = 17 » supa crit!
Fiendish Raven 7:This bird now has a perfect spit in it for anyone who wants to try roasting it.
Thomas Lazarus has received initiative.
Kor:Mmm, bird.
- Thomas Lazarus sneaks forward a pace to reach one of the offenders with his blade. « 1d20+9 = 5 + 9 = 14 » « 1d10+4 = 10 + 4 = 14 »
Liatai:And this bird is now nicely carved.
Thomas Lazarus:#21, specifically. Not, you know. Jalzar. :B
Jalzar:Much appreciated. :B
Luethil Aellonor has received initiative.
TMG:Rock 'em sock 'em, elf barbarian!
- Luethil Aellonor hefts her mace and gives it its first test-run! « 1d20+6 = 17 + 6 = 23 » « 1d6+2 = 6 + 2 = 8 » (On #6)
Fiendish Raven 6:CRUNCH!
Elros has received initiative.
Luethil Aellonor:Oh wait… ehn. Mace, club, whatever.
Luethil Aellonor:Killin' bit!
Faerie:Erm…can Elros hit the raven even if it's "10 feet above"?
Liatai:Oh! Sorry. It's melee-able.
Ghostwish:Hey. Can rangers aim for multiple targets with thier mult-shot feat?
Dr. Hatari:Yes.
Ghostwish:Awesome. :>
Elros:Elros takes a swing at Raven 5 with each sword! « 1d20+4 = 15 + 4 = 19 » and « 1d20+3 = 7 + 3 = 10 »
Dr. Hatari:..Hmm.. Although now I'm wondering something.
Liatai:Oof! My doggy co-DM says hi. :B
Ghostwish:HEWWO DOGGEH. :P
TMG:errm…
TMG:not seeing anything in the Manyshot description on that…
Elros:And assuming that one contacts, « 1d8+3 = 7 + 3 = 10 »
Dr. Hatari:Sorry. I checked it, its just one target.
Dr. Hatari:I was thinking of how Greater Manyshot worked.
TMG:if you have a high enough BaB for multiple strikes (or the rapid Shot feat), -then- you can attack more than one target
Liatai:The sword slices clean through. AWK!
Gnogglebolt has received initiative.
Ghostwish::Ghostwish::{Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt doesn't break formation, and keeps ready to move forward with the group and smack anything that gets close to him
Jalzar has received initiative.
Gnogglebolt:end turn
Jalzar:Jalzar sqings at the nearest raven that is alive.
Jalzar:He does so with his two claws
Liatai:1d20+5. :3
Jalzar:« 1d20+5 = 9 + 5 = 14 » and « 1d20+5 = 5 + 5 = 10 »
Dr. Hatari:OM >:O
Fiendish Raven 15:One of the lizardman's clawed hands swats the raven out of the sky in a puff of feathers and a bit of bloody spray.
VAE:end of l\ turn
Wild Boar:The boar SQUEEEEALS loudly again before charging in, tusks flashing in Honduras' direction! « 1d20+5 = 2 + 5 = 7 » for « 1d8+4 = 2 + 4 = 6 » damage!
Barbarus has received initiative.
Barbarus:Ready action to stab at anything coming too close. >:o Also.
Barbarus:« 1d20+3 = 5 + 3 = 8 » Handle Animal, Attack?
Honduras:Or, since I'm being attacked, do I auto-attack?
Dr. Hatari:He'll probably attack either way, considering.
Liatai:Fortunately, Honduras is auto-attacking to defend himself. x3
TMG:(handle animal may be necessary to ensure he doesn't try to bolt if things go bad, though, unless it really is a trained war-mule accustomed to battle)
Honduras:« 1d20+4 = 5 + 4 = 9 » HOOF! « 1d4+3 = 3 + 3 = 6 » damage!
Honduras:And I had just finished typing. :[
Liatai:Unless you're going for full attack — aack, sorry. ^^; Go ahead, roll away.
Thomas Lazarus:"Shoot..! Even regular animals turning on us so fast? (I was hoping it would just run!)"
TMG:oh, nevermind
TMG:mules and donkeys are already stubborn enough for battle without special training x3
Miron:They are dangerous wild beasts even in their natural state/
Miron:The corruption of the witch only makes them more vicious
TMG:-and- they can go into a cave (while not being happy about it), whereas a horse will outright refuse
Wild Boar:The boar seems to have nothing but rage in its eyes for the party and everything around, even the ravens.
Miron has received initiative.
Miron:Miron takes yet another swing for « 1d20+3 = 17 + 3 = 20 »
Liatai:14, or 8? :3
Miron:8Fiendish Raven 8:AWK! And with a crunch, another scion of the lower planes falls to the Mace.
Liatai:Now for the big question. Is the party moving forward, provoking AoOs, or staying put?
Tathi:Staying put!
Dr. Hatari:I think if we held our ground for 6 more seconds, we would be clear.
Dr. Hatari:Stay put this time.
TMG:well, um… :B okay…
Tathi has received initiative.
Tathi:Tathi aims for the only one not in melee combat, which would be #9 (Beatles' song plays) She takes aim with her shortbow, and lets an arrow fly! « 1d20+5 = 5 + 5 = 10 » for « 1d6 = 1 » damage!
Liatai:« 1d100 = 8 »
Dr. Hatari:The original plan was assuming some fraction of them didn't attack. There's no reason to mad dash rush and hurt ourselves for no benefit. ^^;
Fiendish Raven 9:The arrow travels in a high arc, misses, then sticks in the ground.
Edaric has received initiative.
Tathi:Tathi curses.
Liatai:Tech?
TMG:eh?
TMG:OHEdaric:Edaric remains in formation, sorry.
Edaric:still readied for a slicing
Liatai:Ghost, just to warn you, if the ravens don't go down, I'm assuming control of Aelian for his next turn. x3
Kethanis Whitebranch has received initiative.
Ghostwish:How come? :B
Dr. Hatari:They should have a much more distinctive ping sound when a token you control comes up on initiative. :O
Liatai:Because I have a line and action in mind for him that I can't let go. x3
Ghostwish:XP okay!
Kethanis Whitebranch:Kethanis takes aim at raven 18 with his sling. Alright, these rocks aim differently. Let's try again. « 1d20+3 = 16 + 3 = 19 »
Fiendish Raven 18:This rock manages to find its mark!
Kethanis Whitebranch:Woo, he's got his eye in. « 1d4+1 = 2 + 1 = 3 »
- Koehel skrees approvingly!
Fiendish Raven 14:"AWK!" « 1d20+4 = 17 + 4 = 21 » to the inquisitor!
Fiendish Raven 14:1 damage as the raven claws the other side of Moron's face.
Fiendish Raven 14:…. MIRON
Dr. Hatari:Bwahaha :B
Liatai:XDGhostwish:BWEHEHEHE. XP
Dr. Hatari:That should go on the wikia profile page for nicknames. :B
Miron:I am *NOT* the spanish inquisition.
Fiendish Raven 9:The other raven attempts to circle around…
Aelian has received initiative.
- Aelian makes a "tch" sound and lets a volley fly! « 1d20+8 = 3 + 8 = 11 » for « 1d8 = 3 » and « 1d20+8 = 9 + 8 = 17 » for « 1d8 = 6 »!
Fiendish Raven 9:The raven falls in a puff of feathers.
Aelian:"And you call yourself elven," the archer mutters.
Thomas Lazarus has received initiative.
Thomas Lazarus:"Okay.. gonna close ranks on the boar before Honduras gets chewed up!" Thomas quickly weaves around and lunges to intercept before the beast can do more harm. « 1d20+9 = 10 + 9 = 19 » « 1d10+4 = 9 + 4 = 13 »
Wild Boar:WHEEP! The boar makes a pained squeal as the sword slices along its hide!
Tathi:"Well, if you think being an elf is all about archey, that goes to show why you're not an elf, half-human." She says right back. Ouch.
Luethil Aellonor has received initiative.
- Luethil Aellonor quickly follows suit and completely cuts off the creature's advance! « 1d20+6 = 4 + 6 = 10 » « 1d6+2 = 3 + 2 = 5 »
Wild Boar:The boar's hide just seems too thick for the club to have any appreciable impact!
Elros has received initiative.
Luethil Aellonor:A mace! I want a mace now! >:O
Elros:Elros turns to the raven attacking Miron, and swings at it this time. « 1d20+4 = 6 + 4 = 10 » and « 1d20+3 = 8 + 3 = 11 »
Fiendish Raven 14:What is this, a raven captain? It dodges adroitly!
Elros:…and that damn raven manages to dodge. Curses, small nimble thing.
Ezer:Can I try to bite it? Can I? Can I? Huh? :D
Dr. Hatari:Wait a second… now it's all coming together…
Dr. Hatari:The magnets in the inventory… LOOK. >:O
Dr. Hatari:*Raven is covered in repulsive pole lodestones. :B*
Liatai:*SNRK*
Gnogglebolt has received initiative.
Liatai:Go tinker go! :D
MeanyOwl:Go Go Steampunk Ranger?
Liatai:x3TMG:oh!
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt looks around. Morningstar is still raised, but there doesn't seem to be anything else on his side anyway, and his little legs can't carry him too far quickly. Remain in readied mode, end turn
Jalzar has received initiative.
Tathi:"Don't you have a crossbow or some such?"
TMG:meany; oh, just you wait…just you wait… ;)
VAE:hmm, does the mule occpy? oh , i see
Gnogglebolt:From waist-level to Tathi; "Even if I had more than five bolts, I can't see anything from down here!"
Jalzar:Jalzar claws at the second raven once [1d20+5[
Jalzar:Jalzar claws at the second raven once « 1d20+5 = 5 + 5 = 10 »
Jalzar:he fails
Jalzar:end of turn
Dr. Hatari:Doing barrel rolls like its going out of style! This raven is about to level up!
Tathi:Tathi giggles. "A pity there's not some big gnoll for you to climb on top of, hrm?"
Wild Boar:The boar wheels around and attempts to gore Thomas! « 1d20+5 = 3 + 5 = 8 »
- Thomas Lazarus sneezes.
- Thomas Lazarus backpedals just in time to dodge most of the creature's momentum and stonewall it with his roundshield.
Gnogglebolt:-_-
Wild Boar:*Ewwwwww human snot! X.x *
Barbarus has received initiative.
Honduras:Bitches, get out mah way! >:O
Dr. Hatari:x3Honduras:« 1d20+4 = 7 + 4 = 11 » « 1d20+4 = 11 + 4 = 15 »
Wild Boar:One of the hooves lands with a solid CRACK to the cranium! Seems the raging boar can't defend itself as well…
Dr. Hatari:He's developing that warmule attitude alright.
Dr. Hatari:Guh afk
Honduras:« 1d4+3 = 1 + 3 = 4 » >:O
Dr. Hatari:Hm false alarm. Just the mechanic from next door.
Liatai:Will Barbarus do anything, or is that it for this turn? :3
Honduras:Continuing readied action. End turn.
Miron has received initiative.
Miron:Miron takes yet another swing at the raven in the name of St. Cuthbert « 1d20+3 = 10 + 3 = 13 »
Fiendish Raven 14:The little bugger is just too quick!
Tathi has received initiative.
Liatai:Go Tathi go!
MeanyOwl:Go, Speed Wizard, Go!
TMG:Go go, tathi go! Go go, Tathi go! Tathi B Goode!
Dr. Hatari:Tathi piloting a sports car. :U
Dr. Hatari:TERROR.
Ghostwish:don't you hate surprise afks?
MeanyOwl:Yes.
Liatai:Yes. ^^;
Tathi:She takes aim at te last one, #14! She takes aim with her shortbow, and lets an arrow fly! « 1d20+1 = 5 + 1 = 6 » for « 1d6 = 6 » damage! (firing into melee)
Ghostwish:durnit. :P
Fiendish Raven 14:SUPER-RAVEN!
Edaric has received initiative.
Fiendish Raven 14:I should get a promotion for this. :3
Liatai:Techmaster poke. :3
Liatai:… On second thought.
MeanyOwl:SUDDENLY
MeanyOwl:DIGIVOLUTION.
Tokens dropped onto map 'Forest D'
Missingno:THIS ISN'T GOOD.
Liatai:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGf9qtIeyBg&feature=related
TMG:eh?
TMG:Oh xD
TMG:Sorry, was just going to delay again, but okay x3
Dr. Hatari:What, -why-? Just kill it please. x3
- Edaric sheathes his weapons and takes out… his lute? FEEL THE POWER OF MUSIC, BIRD! Inspire Courage!
Kethanis Whitebranch has received initiative.
Liatai:Fae? :3
Faerie:Hup!
Kethanis Whitebranch:Kethanis then switches his aim to raven 14, that crafty bugger. « 1d20+3 = 16 + 3 = 19 » slingshot!
Fiendish Raven 14:And the druid finally downs it!
Kethanis Whitebranch:Finally, something that hits it. River rocks ARE good ammo! :D « 1d4+1 = 4 + 1 = 5 »
Aelian has received initiative.
Liatai:Control is handed back to you, Ghost. x3
Ghostwish:aw. :Aelian:Well, it's onl the boar left, so here goes! He fires off a quick volley at close range! « 1d20+7 = 6 + 7 = 13 » for « 1d8+1 = 5 + 1 = 6 » and « 1d20+7 = 10 + 7 = 17 » for « 1d8+1 = 8 + 1 = 9 »
TMG:firing into melee penalty accounted for?
Liatai:Aelian has Precise Shot.
TMG:Ohhh :o
TMG:Okay ^^'
Wild Boar:Those two arrow strikes look like they should be lethal… but they're not! The boar is still standing and fighting, even though it looks like it's rapidly bleeding out!
Thomas Lazarus has received initiative.
- Thomas Lazarus heaves his blade overhead and goes for a deathblow! « 1d20+10 = 5 + 10 = 15 » « 1d10+5 = 1 + 5 = 6 »
Dr. Hatari:Donk. ^^;
Wild Boar:Almost!
Luethil Aellonor has received initiative.
- Luethil Aellonor squints and slides into flanking position. Here goes another swing of the cudgel! « 1d20+9 = 5 + 9 = 14 » « 1d6+3 = 1 + 3 = 4 »
Wild Boar:It looks like only the fires of rage are sustaining it now! Or it did… until the elf finally brought down the bacon.
MeanyOwl:You could say she.
- Luethil Aellonor stands with a triumphant puff. >:3
MeanyOwl:*sunglasses*
MeanyOwl:Will bring home that bacon.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt tries to peek through everyone's legs. "Is it over?"
- Thomas Lazarus backs up a bit while looking around darkly. "..Think so.."
Thomas Lazarus:"Let's keep it up." He falls back into formation.
Gnogglebolt:"Right then. The cave's just up ahead, we should keep moving."
Liatai:Moving the ravens just so I don't pick them up along with you guys.
TMG:(oh, and tell us when the rockface ravens come into view )
Dr. Hatari:Cawwww braaaiiins :B
Barbarus:"Whoa now, mad cow. :."
Barbarus:« 1d20+4 = 18 + 4 = 22 » Spot check on them additional ravens.
Ghostwish:oie. :P
Ghostwish:You don't roll unless the DM asks you to roll, twinklebrains!
TMG:Got a line I would like to say, when the ravens are visible ^^
Liatai:You not only see them, but as you draw closer to the cave, you can see a cavern high up on the cliffside… and two LARGE red eyes peering out of it.
Dr. Hatari:High up, you say.
Tathi:"Spell time.." Tathi mutters quietly to herself.
Dr. Hatari:FFFFF
Barbarus:"Great honking weregeese!"
TMG:Aw man, there goes my line xD
TMG:Posting just 'what could have been'
Dr. Hatari:Sure. x3
Gnogglebolt:Looking at the staring ravens up on the rockface, Gnogglebolt calls up to them. "Well? Do you want to get the feathers knocked off you too, or are you going to run to your master and tell her we're coming for her?"
TMG:anyway…
Dr. Hatari:Unrelated lulz: Improved Improvised Weapon and this would have been a great Briarclaw druid; http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/1782/1300545856589.jpg
TMG:So, we now see a giant raven and a woman up on top of the cliff
Briarclaw Spymaster:"Who DARES to kill my flocks?!" calls a voice from on high as a raven as large as a draft horse, with eyes as red as smoldering coals, emerges from its rookery. It has a sort of saddle on its back, and a black-haired woman with a raven on her shoulder glowers down at your group.
Barbarus:"They do. :O"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt glares up at her.
- Barbarus points.
Miron:Arrows, clubs… whatever is at hand.
Gnogglebolt:"The Vigilant Guardians dare! Surrender now or perish for your crimes!" Gnogglebolt then wsays in a low voice to everyone around him
Miron:*whispers in gnomish*
Gnogglebolt:"She's a spellcaster, time to break formation! Don't bunch up!"
Briarclaw Spymaster:"Cute. A little adventuring group." The woman cackles.
- Thomas Lazarus raises his brows and nods.
Miron says in Gnome: Good going.. if we provoke her she might end up making a mistake
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt also puts away his morningstar. draws his crossbow, and starts moving to the side.
Tathi:« 1d20+14 = 18 + 14 = 32 » Knowledge, Arcane! +1 if it's evocation! to know if this gal is a spellcaster?
Ezer:Aww, why thank you. I've been working on cute. :D
Ezer:…wait… >.>
Kor:Totally talking to me, fish breath.
TMG:Um, she said 'eher' flocks. Therefore she is Briarclaw, and we -know- Briarclaw is a druid x3
TMG:*her
Ghostwish:wrong.
TMG:Though if she is Not briarclaw, that is still a reasonable conclusion to jump to
Tathi:"That's no druid. She's got a familiar. Definitely an arcane caster. Spread out!"
Miron:Cute? The worst your birds can do is crap on one's shoulder!
TMG:…ah. Well, still a spellcaster :B
Miron:(shouted of course)
Barbarus:"Everyone, stay at least twenty feet from the gnome!" :O
Briarclaw Spymaster:"You've been dodging my girls and boys for too long, denying them their mealtimes," she says, stroking the bird on her shoulder.
Ghostwish:And tech, for future reference, here's some wisdom: Whenever you use the phrase 'to jump to' it is automatically NOT a reasonable conclusion. >:P
TMG:In character, ghost. In-character.
TMG:Even if it is incorrect.
Ghostwish:Uh, wrong? You said it OOCly. :P
Briarclaw Spymaster:"Oh no you don't!" She raises a hand and calls out to the birds in a rough-sounding tongue.
Miron:There are plenty of meals we have left from them… they used be their comopanions
Tathi:"Here we go!" She says, swapping her shortbow for her wand.
Briarclaw Spymaster:"Loru! Sangorir! Chow time~!" She points down at you all, and the large bird spreads its wings! « 1d20+5 = 4 + 5 = 9 »
TMG:I was responding to your knowledge arcane check. but nevermind, things are happening :o
Fiendish Raven 11:« 1d20+2 = 18 + 2 = 20 »
TMG:Since we were staring at her, is it possible everyone with a ranged weapon out is readied to fire as soon as they charge?
Liatai:Nope.
TMG:Just gnogglebolt then? :B
VAE:and i'll make 'er shut up soon
Ghostwish:Way too late to be readying actions. Now's the time to ask if we roll initiative. :P
TMG:Okay, okay, fine.
Dr. Hatari:Assume their flight coincides with us knocking arrows regardless of when it happens.
Liatai:^ What Ghost said.
Ghostwish:So do we? Or are we keeping the old one?
Tathi has received initiative.
Ghostwish:YAY!
TMG:My corssbow is already loaded, though >.> But eh, no biggie.
- Liatai turns on music…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5dZSmo_1Wg&feature=related
Dr. Hatari:Quit trying to shoot the monologuers, I wanna hear it. :B
Liatai:XDTathi:Ah, Tathi's such a show girl. As soon as the show starts, she goes straight for the stage. « 1d4+1+1d4+1 = 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 7 » magic missile damage on the raven riding retard!
Briarclaw Spymaster:"OW!"
Tathi:"Chew on that!"
Tathi:And done. :>
Briarclaw Spymaster:"I think I'll let my darlings chew on you instead!" And the ravens swoop in as one!
Fiendish Raven 19:One tries to eat Miron's face! « 1d20+4 = 9 + 4 = 13 »
- Thomas Lazarus swivels his head about frantically as the ravens bypass the front rank. He looks to Barbarus. "Please have Honduras cover Tathi!"
Fiendish Raven 20:One swoops down on Thomas' head! « 1d20+4 = 17 + 4 = 21 »
VAE:lia, is she actually riding on the raven?
Fiendish Raven 20:2 damage this time!
VAE:as in, in the air ATM?
Liatai:Yes, she is.
Thomas Lazarus:"—Gahh! Get out of my hair!!"
Liatai:No, not in the air yet.
VAE::3Edaric has received initiative.
TMG:let's see…
TMG:ah dang, no facinate, must be out of combat
TMG:how many songs does Edaric have left today?
Liatai:Check his token.
Dr. Hatari:I.. had forgotten they had finite songs. We always houserule buffed them. Because… yeah, bards. >.>
TMG:er…doesn't say? :B
TMG:or I'm blind. :B
Liatai:You mean spell songs, or Inspire Courage?
TMG:Inspire Courage is -a- song
Liatai:Inspire Courage has no limit to times per day as far as I know.
TMG:erm… Bardic Music: Once per day per bard level, a bard can use his song or poetics to produce magical effects on those around him
TMG:Inspire Courage is one of the uses of Bardic Music
Liatai:Ah. So two left. ^^;
TMG:Alrighty then…
Edaric:Edaric pulls out his lute and begins to strum an uplifting song, chanting lyrics of battle and bravery!
Edaric:end turn
Kethanis Whitebranch has received initiative.
- Faerie hmms
Kethanis Whitebranch:Kethanis looks around quickly as he reloads his slingshot, and aims at Raven 11. Take out the minor threats first, the focus on the major threat. « 1d20+3 = 19 + 3 = 22 »
Briarclaw Spymaster:"Fly, my darlings, FLY!"
Kethanis Whitebranch:for « 1d4+1 = 1 + 1 = 2 »
Dr. Hatari:Remember, +1 to hit and damage.
Fiendish Raven 11:The raven takes the stone straight to the side and lands with a *ploosh* in the creek.
Aelian has received initiative.
Aelian:The Ranger shoots at the raven closest to him, #16! He fires off a quick volley at close range! « 1d20+8 = 1 + 8 = 9 » for « 1d8+2 = 4 + 2 = 6 » and « 1d20+8 = 16 + 8 = 24 » for « 1d8+2 = 2 + 2 = 4 » (bardic song)
Fiendish Raven 16:The bird falls quickly to the ground!
Thomas Lazarus has received initiative.
Thomas Lazarus:Tom stoops down quickly and looses an overhead slash at his particular fan of the moment. His hair is disheveled and his face scratched! And after nearly drowning and being shot up by allies! And smothered in punkin' juice! Today just sucks! >:O « 1d20+10 = 14 + 10 = 24 » « 1d10+5 = 7 + 5 = 12 »
Fiendish Raven 20:And now you have fiendish raven blood in your hair, and a few feathers for good measure! But the bird is well and truly dead.
Luethil Aellonor has received initiative.
Luethil Aellonor:Luethil hefts her club once before tearing off for one of the disengaged ravens! She storms to just below where it's gliding, hops in the air, and makes an overhead swipe for it! « 1d20+7 = 19 + 7 = 26 » « 1d6+3 = 1 + 3 = 4 »
Fiendish Raven 12:And what a jump it was! Ker-SWAT!
Dr. Hatari:Circumstance penalty for high ground or no, its toast. :3
Elros has received initiative.
VAE:wait, how the hell it could have entered Miron's square without AoO
VAE:?Faerie:And…I'm guessing it would be dangerous tot ake a swing at while it's on his square?
Briarclaw Spymaster:"NO! DIVE! DON'T BOTHER WITH CIRCLING!"
Faerie:*to take
MeanyOwl:Elevation!
MeanyOwl::BLiatai:You can probably try to swat it off his head. x3
VAE:oh , so it just swooped on
Elros:"Miron, stand very still!" Elros steps over, and tries for a William Tell…with swords. « 1d20+4 = 8 + 4 = 12 » and « 1d20+3 = 11 + 3 = 14 »
TMG:oop, had scrollock off o.o
Fiendish Raven 19:The bird is swatted to the side and into the river, where it lays still.
Elros:for « 1d8+3 = 6 + 3 = 9 »
Fiendish Raven 19:VERY still.
Gnogglebolt has received initiative.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt -would- be shouting at the others to ignore the little ones and target the master, but it's a bad idea to sya one's battleplans within earshot of the enemy that concerns them. Instead, Gnogglebolt takes aim at the Briarclaw woman…
Gnogglebolt:90 horizontal, 55 vertial?
Gnogglebolt:er, 32
TMG:still got that hypotenuse macro, liatai?
TMG:aha, it does
Liatai:« round(hypot(horiz,vert),1) = round(hypot(90, 35), 1) = 96.6 »
Dr. Hatari:Trig strikes again!
TMG:
« round(hypot(horiz,vert),1) = Invalid expression: round(hypot(horiz,vert),1). »
TMG:alrighty
TMG:crossbow range is 80 feet, so -2 to attack
TMG:but +1 from bardsong
Dr. Hatari:You could advance, no?
TMG:…okay then. x3
TMG:no, wait…
TMG:
« round(hypot(horiz,vert),1) = round(hypot(70, 35), 1) = 78.3 »
TMG:ah, okay
Gnogglebolt:p-twang! « 1d20+4 = 18 + 4 = 22 »! and « 1d6+1 = 1 + 1 = 2 » if it hits!
Briarclaw Spymaster:"Now you're just making me mad."
MeanyOwl:Flesh wound, it is one.
MeanyOwl:Walk it off, pansy!
TMG:deductin' bolt…
Jalzar has received initiative.
VAE:wwhere is he even
TMG:wait, oh crap…ah, shoot. Next turn, hopefully >.>
VAE:thanks ^^
Jalzar:Jalzar moves forth, then attempts to fire an arrow at the big raven
Jalzar:« 1d20+4 = 7 + 4 = 11 »
Liatai:The arrow clatters onto the stone.
Briarclaw Spymaster:The woman raises a hand and calls out a contemptuous word, and a faint white veil falls over her and the raven on her shoulder… and then the giant raven takes flight, swooping down and clawing Luethil as it passes!
TMG:shhhhh. Dangit. DX
TMG:Was hoping she'd delay flight for -one- more turn…
Liatai:One moment, got to find the attack mod…
TMG:Man. Wish I could have taken back my earlier turn a minute ago, but I knew it was pointless to ask. oh well
Giant Fiendish Raven:« 1d20+5 = 2 + 5 = 7 » as the bird snaps at Luethil with its beak! « 1d8+3 = 7 + 3 = 10 » damage on a hit.
TMG:Oops. My ranged attack rol should have been +6 xD Ah well, it hit anyway
Barbarus has received initiative.
- Luethil Aellonor manages to duck low!
- Faerie hungers. THinks he'll make popcorn.
Faerie:So…brief afk.
Barbarus:Move action to ker-draw bow. >:o
Barbarus:Then…
Barbarus:« 1d20+4+mod = 2 + 4 + 1 = 7 » Fwip! Longbow arrow coming at you for « 1d8+modb = 8 + 1 = 9 » damage!
Barbarus:Ker-miss on attacking number 10.
Liatai:Will Honduras do anything, or is that the end of the turn?
MeanyOwl:Honduras cannot reach. :O
MeanyOwl:So, end turn?
Miron has received initiative.
Dr. Hatari:Honduras grazes.
Dr. Hatari:"=3= nom munch"
VAE:hmm :3 hope this works
- Faerie returns
- Faerie is hit with buttery fingers! -1 typing speed
Miron:Saint Cuthbert, you who smites the lawless, grant them a glimpse of their just fate and let fear of just punishment grasp their hearts! Cause Fear on the big raven she's riding, DC = 14
Giant Fiendish Raven:Oh-ho, CLEVER. « 1d20+2 = 19 + 2 = 21 »
TMG:er, which save—nevermind
VAE:will save
Dr. Hatari:Duh-duhn!
VAE:shje's still shaken for a round
Dr. Hatari:*piano keys!*
VAE:it's will partial,see?
Tathi has received initiative.
Tathi:Tathi takes aim with her wand again, send one missle for RRR « 1d4+1 = 1 + 1 = 2 » and one missle for her mount! « 1d4+1 = 3 + 1 = 4 ». Then she quickly moves away from them, and closer to her allies.
VAE:(and i have at least one more left)
Dr. Hatari:RRR?
Tathi:Raven Riding Retard!
Dr. Hatari:Ah.
Tathi:Silly.
Dr. Hatari:Of course.
Briarclaw Spymaster:"Gah!"
Fiendish Raven 3:One raven swoops for Elros! « 1d20+4 = 6 + 4 = 10 »
Fiendish Raven 17:Another for Miron! Did you eat birdseed or something this morning? « 1d20+4 = 9 + 4 = 13 »
Elros:Elros easily dodges the swoop, and is now in range of the raven, when it's his turn.
Fiendish Raven 10:And the last small raven claws at… Kor? « 1d20+4 = 5 + 4 = 9 »
TMG:Ravens eat rats xD
Kor:Away with ye, fiend!
Fiendish Raven 10:Preeeeeeey >:D
Edaric has received initiative.
Ezer:Hey, don't you eat that rat. If anypne's going to eat him, it's me! D:Kor:AWAY WITH YE, CAT!
Fiendish Raven 10:TRY AND STOP ME, CAT!
Edaric:His song complete, Edaric puts away his lute and draws his crossbow! Without quickdraw, that eats up a double-move action. End turn.
Kethanis Whitebranch has received initiative.
Ezer:Ezer is protective. In a predatory sort of way.
Edaric:and decrementing song effects duration…
Liatai:How about the druid, Fae? :3
Faerie:Ah, yes.
Faerie:…what would he do? >.>
MeanyOwl:He would.
MeanyOwl:Set the forest on fire.
MeanyOwl:*shot*
Faerie:Hmm…what does flare do? >.>
Dr. Hatari:Gives them a save versus -1 to attack rolls, and a few misc. things.
Dr. Hatari:The 'dazzled' effect I believe.
TMG:"I CAST FLARE!"
TMG:"Goddammit!"
- Faerie thinks
Faerie:And they're on the other side of the river, otherwise I'd try entangle…
TMG:it's an airborne mount :B
Faerie:Or it might not work at all.
Liatai:I direct you to the hawk on his shoulder. :3
Liatai:That is all.
Kethanis Whitebranch:Kethanis, seeing no particularly useful alternative, reloads his slingshot and takes aim at the hawk Loru. « 1d20+3 = 13 + 3 = 16 »
Liatai:… er, Loru is a raven, I meant Koehel. :B But okay~
Liatai:Roll damage!
Kethanis Whitebranch:« 1d4+1 = 2 + 1 = 3 » and another +1 from song, yes?
MeanyOwl:Kill the Familiar~
Loru:AWK
Loru:That HURT! >:O
Loru:… Just kidding. >:3
Kethanis Whitebranch:That's generally the idea.
Kethanis Whitebranch:…or not. :x
Loru:The bullet deflects off of the white veil hanging over raven and rider.
Aelian has received initiative.
Liatai:Ghost poke!
Aelian:The half-elf protects the elf! He fires off a quick volley at close range at #10! « 1d20+8 = 13 + 8 = 21 » for « 1d8+2 = 7 + 2 = 9 » and « 1d20+8 = 19 + 8 = 27 » for « 1d8+2 = 3 + 2 = 5 » (bardic song)
Fiendish Raven 10:The raven is practically jettisoned off the elf's head due to the force of the arrows striking its light frame!
Tathi:Tathi winces as the arrow flies right over her head, and then shoots the half-elf a glare. "Don't think I'll be naming you my vanguard or anything for that!"
Kor:Nonsense! I like him! You should marry him. Not enough elven blood around here- ow my nose!
Aelian:"Why did you just slap your familiar?"
- Edaric doesn't even bother ducking. He trusts Aelian's aim.
Tathi:"Shutup and keep shotting."
Tathi:*shooting
Thomas Lazarus has received initiative.
MeanyOwl:THOMAS.
MeanyOwl:Challenge the Raven, so it can come within killing distance of the mule!
MeanyOwl:We need a COME AT ME, BRO moment. :B
Thomas Lazarus:Tom clanks over to the body of the group. He releases his shield with a heave and draws his crossbow mid-march, taking a moment to line up a shot towards the offending magi. « 1d20+4 = 2 + 4 = 6 » « 1d8+1 = 6 + 1 = 7 »
Luethil Aellonor has received initiative.
- Thomas Lazarus is just too inexperienced with the weapon to lead on a moving target!
Luethil Aellonor:Luethil acts fast. She drops her club and draws her shortbow in one motion, and plucks an arrow off for Raven 3's benefit! « 1d20+6 = 12 + 6 = 18 » « 1d6+1 = 4 + 1 = 5 »
Fiendish Raven 3:AEK!
Fiendish Raven 3:.. I'm so dead my death squawk is misspelled!
Elros has received initiative.
- Dr. Hatari retroactively removes, like, 4 bolts. =3=;;
Elros:Oh, well then. Or someone else could get it first. Elros hmms. It seems that the spymaster has some sort of shielding, so he's not sure he could get a bolt through it…
- Fiendish Raven 17 keeps trying to eat Miron's face. >:O
Elros:Oh, hello. What are you doing there? Have a taste of sword! « 1d20+4 = 11 + 4 = 15 » and « 1d20+3 = 19 + 3 = 22 »
Fiendish Raven 17:Swords are not the breakfast of champions! AWK!
Elros:« 1d8+3+1 = 5 + 3 + 1 = 9 »
Dr. Hatari:Critical overkill!
Elros:Actually…
Elros:« 1d20 = 10 »
Faerie:Never mind, keep the current damage.
Barbarus:"Oh, I can't wait to make feather-stuff out of all these birds!" :3
Fiendish Raven 17:Miron isn't even touched by the raven blood. Stylish, Elros!
Gnogglebolt has received initiative.
TMG:Two questions.
TMG:1; is there any of us underneatht he rave? It's hard to tell
Liatai:Nope, no one is underneath the raven.
TMG:…actually, scract Q number 2. Just that questiont hen.
TMG:Ah, okay
Gnogglebolt:Knowing that she has some kind of magic and could start swinging spells at any moment…Gnogglebolt tries to get in a little closer, suddenly remembering one of the things he has with him. As he moves, he pluck a small, yellow stone out of his pocket…
Gnogglebolt:and with a range increment of 20, chucks the thing at the giant raven! « 1d20+2 = 17 + 2 = 19 » versus touch AC of the raven!
TMG:Aha :D
Giant Fiendish Raven:That's a hit!
Gnogglebolt:Everyone hears a loud, concussive THUD.
Gnogglebolt:Givens, sall and large, as well as the spellcaster, must all now make DC 15 fort saves.
Gnogglebolt:Though it's the spellcaster Gnogglebolt's after…
Briarclaw Spymaster:« 1d20+3 = 14 + 3 = 17 »
Gnogglebolt:*ravens, small and
Loru:« 1d20+3 = 9 + 3 = 12 »
TMG:Dammit!
Giant Fiendish Raven:« 1d20+4 = 18 + 4 = 22 »
TMG:-_-
Dr. Hatari:Oh well. Good idea. :3
Loru:Well, you deafened the little one. :B
TMG:well, the little one is deafened and…doesn't even take an init penalty because it acts on it's master's turn -_-
TMG:*sigh* end turn
Jalzar has received initiative.
TMG:…Hrm.
TMG:Can I remember if anyone else has a thunderstone?
Jalzar:Jalzar reloads his bow, and fires at the large raven again (it's -2 to AC she has i thimk from being shaken) « 1d20+4 = 4 + 4 = 8 »
TMG:…no, scratch that, nevermind
- Thomas Lazarus is alchemyless.
Jalzar:And still misses horribly
Giant Fiendish Raven:The raven adroitly dips out of the way as it folds its wings… and DIVES!
Dr. Hatari:*_*
Giant Fiendish Raven:The creature's momentum from its aerial charge slams its talons and beak into Aelian forcefully! « 1d20+5 = 19 + 5 = 24 » for « 1d8+3 = 3 + 3 = 6 », « 1d20+3 = 12 + 3 = 15 » for « 1d4-1 = 2 - 1 = 1 », « 1d20+3 = 3 + 3 = 6 » for « 1d4-1 = 3 - 1 = 2 »!
Giant Fiendish Raven:Well, maybe just the beak.
Gnogglebolt:"Blasted inferior psudomagic alchemy!"
Gnogglebolt:*pseudo
Briarclaw Spymaster:The woman points at all of you as her mount touches ground, and a pointed, jagged chunk of ice forms around her finger before shooting for Edaric. « 1d20+4 = 10 + 4 = 14 » ranged touch attack!
Briarclaw Spymaster:The sharp spear of ice pierces the bard solidly in the shoulder for « 4d4 = 9 » damage… then EXPLODES, sending frosty shrapnel onto Gnogglebolt, Kor, Tathi, and Thomas! 1 point of splash damage to each of them!
Gnogglebolt:"Gha!"
Barbarus has received initiative.
- Thomas Lazarus flinches and raises a gauntlet to his eyes.
Edaric:"Agh—! Cold!"
Barbarus: (( Moving closer, so new feat can be of use. >:o ))
Thomas Lazarus:(Heal check! « 1d20+6 = 1 + 6 = 7 » … Now would be a good time to ask how many different targets I can check the vitality of with a heal check!)
Barbarus:« 1d20+4+mod = 7 + 4 + 2 = 13 » Fwip! Longbow arrow coming at you for « 1d8+modb = 7 + 2 = 9 » damage!
Liatai:None, with that result. :B
Dr. Hatari:Guess it doesn't matter this round. x3
Liatai:One per check.
Liatai:For who, Barbarus?
Barbarus:Big-one.
Barbarus:« 1d20+3 = 14 + 3 = 17 » Handle Animal! >:o
Honduras:Freeze, bitch!
Honduras:« 1d20+4 = 15 + 4 = 19 » !
Giant Fiendish Raven:The arrow is deflected by the bird's buffeting wings as it keeps trying to tear the half-elf in two. But the hoof catches it in the side!
Dr. Hatari:MULE'D.
Honduras:« 1d4+3 = 3 + 3 = 6 »
Miron has received initiative.
MeanyOwl:Wait. :o
MeanyOwl:Does Honduras gain the bonus from bardic music too?
Liatai:Yes. x3
MeanyOwl:+1 to that damage. :3
Dr. Hatari:The mule is additionally headbanging! The humanity!
- Dr. Hatari plays Blazblue themes. >:o
Briarclaw Spymaster:The woman is trying to yell commands in some harsh language to the raven on her shoulder, but they don't seem to be having any effect.
Miron:Miron mumbles a similar prayer to the first one,, pointiing once again at the already somewhat weakened giant raven : Cause fear DC 14, and she has -2 to save
Giant Fiendish Raven:« 1d20 = 6 »
Giant Fiendish Raven:D:Giant Fiendish Raven:KRAW!
Miron:Saint Cuthbert teaches us perseverance is key to victory
TMG:roll 1d4!
TMG:for how long it flees
Miron:Hold on tight, lady ! *smiles coldly*
Miron:« 1d4 = 4 »
Dr. Hatari:Not even close to that long, if we have anything to say about it. >:3
Thomas Lazarus:"Now's our chance! Drag it to the earth!"
Briarclaw Spymaster:"Sangorir — What did you do, you — ?!?!" She starts as the raven bucks and starts to squirm. Kraaaaaaw! D:Tathi has received initiative.
Tathi:"Aelian!!" Tathi cries out, and then quickly glares daggers at their foes. Tathi continues her barrage in an almost mocking fashion. « 1d4+1 = 2 + 1 = 3 » for RRR, « 1d4+1 = 2 + 1 = 3 » for her mount!
Briarclaw Spymaster:"IEAGH!" The woman shrieks as yet another blast of force slams into her!
Ghostwish:And with that, it's time to start suppah. :>
Edaric has received initiative.
TMG:ah!
MeanyOwl:…Oh schnap.
MeanyOwl:Possession mid battle? :O
Edaric:Edaric tries another crossbow bolt on the rider! Mwk light crossbow « 1d20+4 = 10 + 4 = 14 » « 1d8+1 = 4 + 1 = 5 »!
MeanyOwl:…Would she possessed by one of the raven's ghosts?
Briarclaw Spymaster:The bolt is deflected by the warding white veil.
TMG:meany; no, that's only if ghost -leaves xD
Kethanis Whitebranch has received initiative.
TMG:he's just making dinner, he does that every game
Tathi:*caaaaaaw* :B
TMG:and decrementing bardsong…
Faerie:The giant raven in't on the ground now, is it?
Dr. Hatari:I would like to see, for just one split moment of one round, Tathi possessed by the red personality core from Portal 1. She just suddenly drops her shit and starts flipping out all, "BLeEARG *spits, sputters, SNARLS* yEUEAgh-pbbbth! *flail*—-Oh my god what. What. o.o"
Faerie:*isn't
Liatai:XD!
Liatai:It is, in fact, on the ground!
Faerie:Ah, then would Entangle perhaps keep it down?
Dr. Hatari:Do not even think about it. :B
MeanyOwl:If only.
VAE:heh..i kinda hoped it'll take on wing and shake her down ;P
MeanyOwl:Tathi could cast Evrad's Raping-er, Black Tentacles. =3=
Dr. Hatari:Entangle would be so advantageous for her that it's something she might consider casting, if it was in her list. :B
Faerie:Well, I do have entangle right now, but don't want to cast it if it won't do anything. :B
Dr. Hatari:You could also waltz down and bop the Raven. :B
TMG:Faerie can aim the area so it only hits the raven and Aelian
TMG:sucks for Aelian, but. x3
Dr. Hatari:I would rather we just move in and get like 10 AoOs when it tries to leave, than us be stuck in vines for 40 minutes.
Dr. Hatari:Or 30 or whatever. :B
Aelian:I have a raven the size of a draft horse trying to eat me. It already sucks for me. >:O
Kethanis Whitebranch:Well then. Kethanis puts away the sling, takes out a quarterstaff, and bops the giant fiendish raven. « 1d20+4 = 15 + 4 = 19 »
Giant Fiendish Raven:BOP. Roll damage!
Kethanis Whitebranch:And if that hits, for « 1d6+1+1 = 6 + 1 + 1 = 8 » damage!
TMG:erm, unless he drops the sling to the ground or has Quickdraw, putting away and drawing are two movie-actions ^^;
TMG:*move
Dr. Hatari:He can draw during a move as a free action.
TMG:except he didn't move
Dr. Hatari:… He … did so. :o
TMG:and it still doesn't help if he's already got the sling in hand
TMG:you may draw during a move, but you can't -put away- something during a move
Kethanis Whitebranch:If need be, Kethanis dropped his slingshot to do that. Not like he needs to hit anything at range right now.
Dr. Hatari:Then he can drop it.
Giant Fiendish Raven:The raven doesn't even get a chance to fly away! With a mighty bop, the raven's head jerks to the side, and it crumples into a heap — « 1d20+5 = 17 + 5 = 22 »
TMG:and even so, they still both individually require move-actions—okay, he dropped it. Now just gotta remember to pick it back up later.
TMG:That is all ^^
Faerie:Fair enough.
- Thomas Lazarus was all ready and rarin' to charge the Raven - but what's this? Kethanis staff bop saves the day? >:o
Briarclaw Spymaster:Unfortunately, the woman was able to leap clear of the falling raven's bulk and lands on the ground.
MeanyOwl:AoO?!
MeanyOwl::BMeanyOwl:I smell a Ghost up ins.
Liatai:Not as far as I know. :B
VAE:and the lynx is gonna make some noodles before hhis turn is up
Aelian has received initiative.
Aelian:The ranger, still bleeding from the previous attack, takes a step back and aims for the RRR! He fires off a quick volley at close range! « 1d20+8 = 4 + 8 = 12 » for « 1d8+2 = 1 + 2 = 3 » and « 1d20+8 = 1 + 8 = 9 » for « 1d8+2 = 2 + 2 = 4 » (bardic song)
Briarclaw Spymaster:Both arrows are deflected!
MeanyOwl:They all hit Thomas.
Ghostwish:Critcally.
Thomas Lazarus has received initiative.
- Thomas Lazarus drops his crossbow and *PLUNK, whiff* … and he doesn't even deign to respond to that anymore today! Bastard blade, trudging in, pain, bringing, angry eyebrows, etcetera! >:| « 1d20+10 = 9 + 10 = 19 » « 1d10+7 = 8 + 7 = 15 »
Dr. Hatari:21 for flanking, in hindsight.
Briarclaw Spymaster:Forget any tries to interrogate this woman… unless someone has Speak with Dead. Thomas literally sliced her in half.
Loru:The raven on her shoulders gives a cry and tries to wing it!
- Thomas Lazarus snaps the arrow shafts off of his armor with a sweep of his arm. "Sheesh.."
Luethil Aellonor has received initiative.
- Luethil Aellonor had nearly lowered her guard.. but notices the last raven attempting to get off the hook. An arrow is knocked! « 1d20+7 = 8 + 7 = 15 » « 1d6+1 = 4 + 1 = 5 »
Dr. Hatari:Wait
Loru:The last remaining vestiges of the warding spell protect the bird as it tries to fly away.
Dr. Hatari:Okay, it's exactly within the range increment.
Elros has received initiative.
Dr. Hatari:Ah, right. x3
Faerie:Can Elros move through Honduras? >.>
Barbarus:« 1d20+4+mod = 6 + 4 + 2 = 12 » Fwip! Longbow arrow coming at you for « 1d8+modb = 6 + 2 = 8 » damage!
Dr. Hatari:You can pass through him, but not remain in his squares.
Loru:Yes, and he can move into the space containing the raven if he so wishes — HEY >:O
Loru:Elros' turn, not yours. >:O
MeanyOwl:Aww, thought combat was over. :V
MeanyOwl:Ya'know, with everyone except the familiar kinda dead.
VAE:and the feline has hsisnoodles
Elros:Elros moves swiftly to attack the last remianing raven. « 1d20+8 = 3 + 8 = 11 » for single attack, right-hand.
Elros:Fff…
Loru:Caaaw! Caaaaw! It dodges! D:Gnogglebolt has received initiative.
Gnogglebolt:As Thomas literally sliced the woman in half, the poor gnoem was sprayed with a small fountain of blood. He is not moving, and the look on his face says he's not doing too good.
Elros:Bloody bird…
Gnogglebolt:end turn
Jalzar has received initiative.
Jalzar:The lizard notices no enemy around
Jalzar:"Hrrm. Solid work, friends."
Miron:True… nice work, Thomas
- Thomas Lazarus touches the scrapes on his face gingerly. "Is anyone—oh.. of course." He moves for Aelian with old faithful in hand. « 1d8+1 = 5 + 1 = 6 »
Miron:But now, i guess it's best we press on
Loru:The raven tries to flee, provoking AoOs from Thomas, Gnogglebolt, Elros, Barbarus, and for good measure, Honduras!
Dr. Hatari:Whoops. DX
Barbarus:« 1d20+4+mod = 6 + 4 + 2 = 12 » Fwip! Longbow arrow coming at you for « 1d8+modb = 8 + 2 = 10 » damage!
Ghostwish:Combat is over when the DM SAYS SO YOU MUPPETS. >:P
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt does not have a melee weapon out, and even if he had Shot of Opportunity, his crossbow isn't loaded
Honduras:« 1d20+4 = 18 + 4 = 22 »
Elros:AoO « 1d20+8 = 19 + 8 = 27 » longsword!
Honduras:« 1d4+3 = 3 + 3 = 6 »
Dr. Hatari:I was.. I was lured into a false sense of combat overness by obligatory back-patting complements! :P
VAE:Ghost… it's technicaly over
Elros:« 1d8+3+1 = 3 + 3 + 1 = 7 »
Elros:For good measure.
VAE:the small raven makes no difference to the matters
Liatai:Honduras, roll damage.
MeanyOwl:Done. :o
Elros:« 1d20 = 20 »
Elros:Ooh!
Dr. Hatari:Elros scored an auto-kill. :x
Elros:Valid crit
Ghostwish:brb, turnin' fishsticks
Loru:The raven quickly shares the same fate as its master. Combat finally over!
Elros:Elros crits the fleeing raven.
Faerie:Halo announcer voice: "Overkill!"
Aelian:"… Thanks."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglewbolt suddenly shudders, and starts trying to wipe the blood off him.
Gnogglebolt:*himself
Thomas Lazarus:He nods and touches up some of his own scrapes before moving on. 3 Orisons, ping ping ping. Pretty restored.
MeanyOwl:We calling session here, or proceeding? >:o
TMG:Proceed!
VAE:whatever
Faerie:Liatai, you gonna take over Kethanis now, or should I have him to pick up his slingshot, and possibly heal Aelian?
Liatai:Proceed, I say!
TMG:We haven';t even hit 5 hours yet!
VAE:i can handle it
TMG:We're not even halfway done! :D
- Kethanis Whitebranch picks up his sling.
TMG:we got a 10 hour quota to fill ^^
MeanyOwl::VDr. Hatari::BFaerie::UMeanyOwl:If we go to ten hours, Imma have to duck out.
- Ghostwish shoves Tec in a sack.
Ghostwish:»MeanyOwl:I have two bits of math homework to do, and final exam on tomorrow if I get them done.
MeanyOwl::D* Faerie approves of Ghost's plan. >.>
TMG:>:Luethil Aellonor:"If that wasn't her spymaster, I don't know what's what."
TMG:*sack'd*?
MeanyOwl:Wait…
MeanyOwl:Isn't that the bag of holding? :V
VAE:heh folks
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt manages to get most off the blood off himself, and keeps his lunch down. He looks down at the woman. "I suppose."
Barbarus:"Time to rummage through the corpse!"
Barbarus:« 1d20+4 = 18 + 4 = 22 » Search. :3
- Edaric looks down at Gnogglebolt, sheathing his weapons, concerned. "…"
Gnogglebolt:"It's not Briarclaw herself, unless she fooled everyone who's seen her before. They've said she's an old woman."
Barbarus:"Doo dee doo, oh look. She doesn't have an appendix."
Thomas Lazarus:Thomas continues somberly going about and touching up those of the party still bleeding. (1 HP for Miron, 1 HP for Tathi, « 1d8+1 = 5 + 1 = 6 » for Edaric)
VAE:Tomato and garlic paste, corned beef (the cat food looking milled kind) and instant noodles make for an awesome meal
Gnogglebolt:"Let's…ugh. Let's form back up. II think we've found the den. Time to storm it."
Thomas Lazarus:"Uhm.. sorry about the shower." He softly offers as an aside during his routine party care.
Liatai:The woman has on her a well-made light crossbow, a dagger, bracers decorated with black feathers, a stick with a tri-colored crystal on the end, and a small piece of rose quartz.
- Thomas Lazarus looks up at the cave.
Barbarus:"Oi, Tathi. :o"
- Barbarus holds up the stick.
Tathi:Tathi quicks an eyebrow, and walks over, inspecting said stick. « 1d20+14 = 17 + 14 = 31 » Knowledge, Arcane! +1 if it's evocation!
Thomas Lazarus:"If that cave, up there," He juts his chin at it "..is their lair.. then this isn't going to be any kind of quick storming. I cannot climb that in armor."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt heads over to the rockface, and starts looking both at the pile of boulders and trying to see the cave above.
Liatai:It's magical. Beyond that, you'd need something else.
- Barbarus swipes the Bracers. "Hmm, think this clashes wth my armor?"
Tathi:She takes the wand, and peers at it, before pointing in a direction that does not include enemies, and goes through a number of different techniques for activating a wand.
Miron:It's worse… if they attack while we're climbing…. i hope Saint Cuthbert judges ouur souls to be worthy
Dr. Hatari:I hope you meant 'allies'. :P
Liatai:A riotous cone of colors leaps forth from the end of the stick!
Tathi:*snrk* The player knows, but does Tathi? « 1d20+14 = 3 + 14 = 17 » Knowledge, Arcane! +1 if it's evocation! (I forget if it is)
Elros:Elros puts his swords away, then goes to follow Gnogglebolt.
Liatai:She does. x3
Barbarus:"No one willing to offer some fashion advice. I see how it is."
Elros:will save « 1d20+3 = 6 + 3 = 9 »? :B
- Thomas Lazarus wipes his brow with the back of his wrist. He glances to Barbarus with a weary smirk.
Thomas Lazarus:"..They suit you."
- Barbarus tugs his sleeves over the new bracers, then loads the other equipment onto the mule.
Barbarus:"Thanks."
Thomas Lazarus:"'Course, they don't shoot blades everywhere."
- Barbarus flicks sleeve blade out.
Barbarus:"On a harness strapped to the arm itself, remember?"
Aelian:"You all right?"
- Thomas Lazarus nods numbly.
Thomas Lazarus:"Anyone else hurt?"
Edaric:"Better than I was…"
Dr. Hatari:Tathi and Miron healed for +1. :3
Gnogglebolt:"I'm fine…hmm…"
- Aelian points toward Thomas silently. Waits.
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt reaches into his pack. Out comes the grappling hook and silk rope again!
Edaric:"… er. ^^; I've… sill got a few scratches. Nothing serious."
- Thomas Lazarus huffs indignantly.
Gnogglebolt:He attempts to throw it up into the cave above, then tugs on it to make ure it's secure. If not, he keeps trying. Taking 20, essentially.
Thomas Lazarus:"Why are adventurers all too proud to get their cuts properly healed?"
Miron:Now, half of us should take stations so as to be able to fire at the top of the elevation
Thomas Lazarus:« 1d8+1 = 3 + 1 = 4 » !
Edaric:"Somebody else could need that spell further in."
Miron:While the close-range fighters climb up, they make sure not to let them pick'em off
Edaric:"… But thanks."
Miron:then, they go up too
- Thomas Lazarus pats Edaric's shoulder while looking at the cave. "Don't worry, don't worry. I think this wand has a dozen or so uses left in it. Not to mention the one brother Miron still has."
Thomas Lazarus:"We should be more concerned with staying alive than staying thrifty."
Tathi:Tathi smirks, but she half wishes there was a way to figure out how many charges a wand has left that didn't cost 100 gp.
Gnogglebolt:Results on the grappling-hook throwing?
TMG:ghost; no, this is fun!
Liatai:You manage to hook it in a nook. It seems this cliff is used to grappling hooks, and has many nooks where they can nestle.
TMG:Unknown amount of charges! Dramatic! >:D
Ghostwish:… do I need to put you back in the sack? >:P
Dr. Hatari:Thomas has been counting his charges, thanks. :B
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt nods, satisfied at the grappling hook. "Thomas, you and your equipment is the heaviest. COme over here and test it first."
Thomas Lazarus:"..Well.. Alright."
Gnogglebolt:"Tug on it with your eight, make sure it will hold.
Gnogglebolt:*weight
- Thomas Lazarus wraps the rope around his forearm and gives it a good two hundred pounds or so of pull.
Liatai:It holds firm!
- Thomas Lazarus offers a thumbs-up.
Ghostwish:sorry, who all got healed again? I remember +1 for tathi
Dr. Hatari:Edaric for … I don't know, 10ish.
Faerie:I think Gnogglebolt just called Tom fat. :U
Dr. Hatari:Aelian for 6?
Ghostwish:None for poor widdle Kor?
Gnogglebolt:"Right, shall you be the first to go up?"
Liatai:*snrk*
- Thomas Lazarus looks up uncertainly.
TMG:He siad "the weight of your equipment" xD
- Kethanis Whitebranch looks over… then double-takes. O.o
Gnogglebolt:"Or shall it be someone else first?"
Ghostwish:and crashes right into Tathi? XD
Thomas Lazarus:"I'll give it a shot, I suppose. One moment."
Kethanis Whitebranch:Apparently. XD "Oof — sorry!"
Miron:I can go… i'll be up fast… besides, i can't hit a barn with the bloody crossbosw
- Thomas Lazarus walks over to collect his discarded shield and crossbow.
Ghostwish:Lecherous perv!! *shocking grasp*
Kethanis Whitebranch:"Is your rodent friend… May I…?" He holds up a hand sheepishly.
Thomas Lazarus:"Go ahead, brother. I half worry I'll flail and dislodge the hook."
Kor:My hero!
VAE:CaVAE:aVAE:Can he take 20 on the climb?
Liatai:Yep.
TMG:um..
VAE:umm?
Tathi:Tathi smirks. "Yes, he got caught in that blast there." She says, picking Kor off her shoulder and handing him to Kethanis. "Thank you, by the way."
TMG:taking 20 means you try, and -fail- until you succeed ^^;
TMG:he -can- take 10, however
TMG:the DC should be very low though, thanks to the rope and the wall
VAE:well, yeah… but then , for a low DC it shouldn't ber a lot
TMG:Exactly my point.
Ghostwish:*stuffs tech into the sack again*
Kethanis Whitebranch:"No trouble at all." The druid feeds a little positive energy into the rat — 1 point of healing — and then hands him back.
Barbarus:"On a harness strapped to the arm itself, remember?"
Ghostwish:Go ahead Hatari. ^^
TMG:He should be able to take 10, even with the check penalty
Barbarus:GAH
Barbarus:ignore that
Miron:Fine, Miron takes 10 for 10 points on climb , scaling the wall, or aat least trying to
Barbarus:"Who's staying outside, then?"
Gnogglebolt:"Aren't we all going in?"
TMG:danman; ah
- Barbarus points at the mule.
TMG:climb is str-based
TMG:and also has armor check penalty
TMG:calculate it
- Thomas Lazarus stows his equipment and holds the rope.
VAE:well, he has no str bonus, and has studded leather on, IIRC
Dr. Hatari:Did Miron make it, is what I'm waiting for. ^^;
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt follows Barbaru's finger. "…Oh."
TMG:studdend leather is -1
TMG:so Miron's result on taking 10 is 9
Dr. Hatari:Unlesss it's masterwork.
TMG:unless it's mwk studded leather
VAE:it's normal on
VAE:one
- Liatai coughs.
Miron:Hmm, nothin' here folks!
Dr. Hatari:?Miron:Just some oil, flint and a lamp… and tons of bird crap that smells something fiendish
Gnogglebolt:"It's not actually the cave?" Gnogglebolt calls up.
- Thomas Lazarus sighs with relief. "Thank goodness.."
Miron:Miron, with expression of disgust, searches through the repugnant place taking 10 for 17 pts on search
Barbarus:Meanwhile. :.
Thomas Lazarus:"Bring the oil, I think, and we'll search the perimeter brother."
Liatai:The lantern, flint, and oil are the only things he finds outside of the cave, except for two days' trail rations.
Barbarus:« 1d20+4 = 3 + 4 = 7 » Spot on the depth of this water? :V
Barbarus:« 1d20+2 = 15 + 2 = 17 » Will save!
Miron:He takes the stuff. , " Someone down there, throw me a bag
Miron:No way i'm puting these into my pockets
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt tosses a spare sack up
Thomas Lazarus:"..Heh.."
Barbarus:"Ladies! Gentlemen!"
Barbarus:"Please form an orderly line over to this location. :o
Barbarus:"Miron:Miron stuffs the loot into the sack, makiing sure not to touch it more than needed, then desceends taking another 9
Barbarus:"For I do believe I've found the cave!"
Miron:He has a slightly greenish hue
Gnogglebolt:"Hmm? I was about to suggest we start moving the boulders.."
- Barbarus presents the boulder stack, ta-da!
Miron:Screw this… i have fought zombies bloated from lying in the riiver… but even they didn't smell this bad
Gnogglebolt:"If anything, this -is- the source of bad water, and we need to shut it down."
- Thomas Lazarus grimaces slightly at the creek. "But.. that water turned that creature berserk in moments. Dare we plunge into it again?"
Gnogglebolt:"So we need to get past these boulders."
Barbarus:Barbie draws a dagger, and tosses it onto the boulder pile.
Liatai:The dagger vanishes!
Thomas Lazarus:"!"
Miron:I'll bee glad to plunge anywhere to clean off th bird crap
Miron:Wait a moment!
Gnogglebolt:"What the?!"
Thomas Lazarus:"I.. I see. A glamour of some kind."
Barbarus:[1d20+3
Barbarus:« 1d20+3 = 20 + 3 = 23 »
Miron:« 1d20+9 = 17 + 9 = 26 » Spellcraft
Tathi:Tathi notes the magical effect. « 1d20+14 = 16 + 14 = 30 » Knowledge, Arcane! +1 if it's evocation!
Barbarus:"Honduras, come!"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt moves forward, and tries to touch one of the boulders.
Liatai:Spellcraft instead, Tathi. :P
Miron:A Major Image spell, folks
- Barbarus grabs a sunrod from the package, and starts poking the boulders.
Miron:Whoever threw this down, must be a decent magician
Barbarus:"Start grabbing sticks and poking!"
Miron:Even the young lady here can't compare.
Barbarus:"We're looking for traps."
Liatai:Anything that touches the boulders goes straight through.
Tathi:« 1d20+11 = 13 + 11 = 24 » spellcraft!
Barbarus:« 1d20+4 = 15 + 4 = 19 » Search!
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt looks in amazement as his hand passes right through the boulder.
Thomas Lazarus:"..Alright. This will be easier than expected."
Liatai:Be right back, going to grab snacks. Talk amongst yourselves. :3
Gnogglebolt:"..Well. I suppose we don't have to spend time moving the boulders."
Miron:Now, pity you don't have more of those devices
Tathi:"Don't be silly, gnome. It's just major image. Illusion, and a simple one at that."
Miron:Tossing one in to smoke them out like te vermin they are
Barbarus:"I don't see anyone helping me look for traps!"
Barbarus:"Hint. Hint."
Tathi:"Advice. You are a rogue. Search for traps."
Barbarus:"Fact, I'm four and a half feet tall."
Miron:Wait a moment… does this place have more exits than one?
Barbarus:"Can't reach the ceiling."
Thomas Lazarus:"I.. I'm not really worried about a druid building traps with triggers on the ceiling. ^^;"
Miron:If not… we might try smoking them out… i'm sure you'd be able to throw smething such together, Gnogglebolt!
Elros:"If none of us hit the ceiling, I doubt it will be an issue anyway."
Barbarus:"Fact of life."
Gnogglebolt:"I need days, or at the very least, hours to 'throw something together'!"
Barbarus:"People very rarely look directly up."
- Thomas Lazarus sweatdrops.
Gnogglebolt:"And I don't exactly have materials on hand."
TMG:..erg.
TMG:Get Honduras out of there.
Miron:*looks sadder* Hmm… pity your way of doing things is so much slower than magic… it's so interestng
TMG:Can't impersonate token. -_-
Tathi:"Search for traps, kitty."
Liatai:Back, and reading up.
Thomas Lazarus:"..If.. I may be so bold. The witch and her fiends could be just around the corner, and the glamour, if any indication, is to a narrow passage."
Thomas Lazarus:"Let's form up before pressing in, three abreast."
Ghostwish:Shush thomas, your logic and common sense have no place here.
Miron:indeed.. we stand better chance if we can force them out somehow
Dr. Hatari:I know let's set the dungeon on fire. |B
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt just shakes his head. "Okay. Hold on." He goes and retrieves his grappling hook and rope, and replaces the hook with a weighted stone. The rope now has a stone tied on one end. Gnogglebolt returns to the boulders, and stars chucking the stone at the walls and ceiling, and pulls it back with the rope, to see if anything happens.
Gnogglebolt:"How's this for checking for traps?"
Ghostwish:BRILLIANT.
Barbarus:"Activating any triggers that might be there, or at least learning where they are."
Tathi:"Oh, wonderful gnogglebolt." Tathi says, dripping with sarcasm. "How about we all scream at the top of our lungs to? Or has your method sufficiently announced our presence?"
Liatai:Brilliant, indeed! But you find no traps. :3
Miron:Good insight! Though, magical traps can detect the essence of liife in the triggering object
Gnogglebolt:"Precicely."
Barbarus:"Ideally, this would be done from several feet away."
Barbarus:"Congratulations, no traps."
Ghostwish:was calling Hatari's idea brilliant, by the way. :P
Miron:Young miss Tathi.. might you volunteer your rat to do that sort of a check?
Gnogglebolt:"If the witch doesn't know we're here already, then we have overestimated her. Okay. Nothing is there that can be activatded by a weighted stone hitting it."
Tathi:The look that Tathi and Kor just gave Miron would make a medusa flinch.
Gnogglebolt:"Let's just go."
- Thomas Lazarus gives the passage a hapless look. Before meeting these people, he didn't think he was impatient.. o.o;
Miron:…. It was just a suggestion!
Dr. Hatari:Also I'd like to establish that a mule/horse represents a 1x2 space, so Hondorus shouldn't be as disruptive to marching order as his token is. :B
Barbarus:"Honduras in front, as always, brawlers behind him, and archers behind them, and spellcasters behind them?"
- Dr. Hatari squints slightly. "I.. I suppose."
TMG:hatari; that was in 3.0, and they changed it for 3.5 One of the things I actually liked better about 3.0, but eh. That and MT can't support oddly-shaped tokens. I even asked about it on the forums.
Gnogglebolt:"Alright, let's go."
Liatai:Form up!
Dr. Hatari:What? I checked the mounted combat rules a few days ago for 3.5 and they themselves comment on a horse being a 1x2 space. :.
TMG:really? o.O
TMG:where?
Miron:Miron goes to the front, and well away from Tathi. For such a young girl, she's scary sometimes
TMG:The concept of "size" and "size (long)" is gone from 3.5…
Dr. Hatari:I don't know who said that.
Dr. Hatari:*sigh* It's totally irrelevant right now. :B
TMG:said what?
Liatai:Everyone splishes in the shallow creek as it laps around their calves (and thighs, in the case of the gnomes).
Barbarus:"Elros, why are you with the spell casters? :B"
Miron:Miron uses this fact to wash his hands of the er.. guano?
Gnogglebolt:"Rear guard. It's okay."
Barbarus:« 1d20+3 = 16 + 3 = 19 » :O
Dr. Hatari:Guano is from bats, I believe. Unless it extends to birds?
Barbarus:"Honduras, forward?"
Liatai:The cave interior is dark. Prep your light sources. :3
VAE:The word "guano" originates from the Quichua language of the Inca civilization and means "the droppings of sea birds".
VAE:wiki
Elros:"Apparently, I've been placed here. Perhaps I ought to move up though."
Elros:Or rear guard works too.
Miron:Miron pulls out the everburniing torch he got last time
Dr. Hatari:The More You Know. *rainbow*
- Barbarus cracks his sunrod!
Gnogglebolt:"Only one of us needs to hold the torch. Who will it be?"
Gnogglebolt:"Who always has one hand free?"
Barbarus:"Yo."
Gnogglebolt:"Ah. that works too. Okay, proceed!"
Miron:I can't shoot worth a damn, anyways
Barbarus:« 1d20+4 = 14 + 4 = 18 » Spot. « 1d20+5 = 8 + 5 = 13 » Listen. :O
VAE:hmm, do we see her?
VAE:and furthermore does she see us?
Liatai:Hold on, hold on, lag!
Liatai:Laaaaaaag!
Liatai:Let me type! XD
Miron:« 1d20+3 = 18 + 3 = 21 » Spot « 1d20+5 = 14 + 5 = 19 » Listen
Liatai:STOP WITH THE CHECKS FOR TWO SECONDS. XD
Liatai:The first thing you see?
Liatai:A WALL OF SMOKE.
Liatai:All shapes beyond it are indistinct and hazy.
Miron:Hmm… are you sure fighting in here is the best tactics?
Miron:A siege might be better, for al i know
Tathi:"You ask like we have a choice."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt whispers, "Do we exactly have any other choice?"
Liatai:You hear flames crackling from the east, and water flowing to the north.
Miron:Young miss, even the most powerful evil wizard has to eat sometimes
Miron:more so if he commands voracious beasts
Tathi:"We're dealing with druids, Miron. No one can break seiges better than they."
- Thomas Lazarus sighs.
Barbarus:One moment.
Elros:"And even if we tried, we don't know for sure that there isn't another exit to this cave."
Gnogglebolt:"Unless we can get rid of this smoke, we just have to go through it. Hold your breath, everyone…" Gnogglebolt says, still whispering
Miron:I am not saying it's ideal… but then, in this mess… guess whose senses are sharper, your or the wolves?
Thomas Lazarus:"Guard up. Let's get this over with before they sneak out." Tom takes a full defense action and prepares to follow suit close behind Honduras. Who, for the life of him, Tom still cannot figure out why is leading. :B
Liatai:« 1d20+2 = 16 + 2 = 18 » « 1d20+2 = 11 + 2 = 13 »
Tathi:« 1d20+11 = 1 + 11 = 12 » spellcraft! -5 if its necromancy or illusion, +2 if it's evocation! to see what that fog is.
Tathi:HERPDERP
TMG:because, if what Meany was brainstorming awhile ago is true, catfolk treat their mules as expendable
TMG:because they can't sire offsrping anyway x3
Miron:« 1d20+9 = 20 + 9 = 29 » Spellcraft too
Dr. Hatari:I thought - ohhh.
Dr. Hatari:I getcha.
TMG:(and also a hand excuse for eliminating them once we get higher level)
TMG:*handy
Ghostwish:woooow.. 1 and a 20. XD
TMG:So, if everone's ready, DM moves everyone forward?
VAE:waait.. so he was all mother hen about them… and suddenly decides to make them expendable?
Ghostwish:Uh, no? Rolls are on the table.
- VAE is an irked lynx
TMG:well, not "expendable" so much as "they are allowed to die gloriously in battle" :B
TMG:I was paraphrasing.
Barbarus: (( What Tech said. ))
Dr. Hatari:You can use it in combat without abusing it in daily life making it run to exhaustion. :B
TMG:^ that too
Miron:And we are screwed… it's a magic sort of smoke… i hope you haven't eaten anything heavy in the morning
Miron:It tends to get people's guts in knots…never mind the obvious concealment benefit
Gnogglebolt:"Just hold your breath and plug your nose. Go." Gnogglebolt does so to himself, with his crossbow out and loaded in another hand
Tathi:"That is not how it works, Gnogglebolt!" Tathi hisses.
Miron:Indeed… never mind that the bears or wolves she keeps won't have trouble tracking us by smell and sound
Gnogglebolt:"Fine then, just go anyway!" Gnogglebolt hisses back. "We can't waste time! Everyone stop talking and go!" He gets his crossbow ready and goes forward whether anyone else does or not
Barbarus:« 1d20+3 = 4 + 3 = 7 »
TMG:For once, even -i- have to say, 'why the hell are we still talking about this' xD
Kethanis Whitebranch:"Time is not something you can waste, friend."
VAE:because walking in is terminlly stupid?
Ghostwish:Every dog has its day. :P
Honduras:Yeah, hail nah am I going in there. >:[
TMG:Erg. Fine.
Dr. Hatari:We don't have an alternative.
Tathi:« 1d20+14 = 9 + 14 = 23 » Knowledge, Arcane! +1 if it's evocation! of ways to dispel this.
VAE:we do… sieging it
TMG:Tabbing out until everyone figures out what to do. In the meantime, I fully expect a certain drow to get speared suddenly, and yes, I know he's not here. :B
Dr. Hatari:… Are you serious?
VAE:indeed… if it has no other entrances (which we should try to find (scouts?)
Dr. Hatari:We can't siege a druid in a forest cave behind a wall of smoke.
MeanyOwl:Barbie failed the check. Honduras isn't moving unless Kethanis tries.
Dr. Hatari:She's immune to siege. :P
VAE:that's silly
TMG:…
TMG:who's talking about—oh.
TMG:Danman, hatari is right.
TMG:No siege.
TMG:Storm.
Dr. Hatari:She has literally infinite food and water.
TMG:Only option.
VAE:infinite water nly
VAE:the stuff living there eats MEAT
Tathi:"Hey."
MeanyOwl is disconnected.
MeanyOwl is disconnected.
TMG:It's either charge in or go home at this point
Tathi:"It's going to be gone soon. Hold your horses gnome."
Tathi:And then Tathi waits, oh, about 18 seconds.
Dr. Hatari:Besides, you do the dungeon. That's kind of the gentleman's rule. :P
VAE:?VAE:wtf
Dr. Hatari:Nevermind.
Liatai:x3Liatai:And sure enough, the wall of smoke wavers, and fades.
Tathi:Tathi snaps her fingers, and smirks.
Thomas Lazarus:"… … … Oh." he squints.
Miron:Now, this helps
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt stares ahead.
Tathi:"I realized it wasn't permanent."
Miron:Young lady, i bow to your skill
Gnogglebolt:and sights his crossbow around the waists of the people in front of him.
Meany has connected.
TMG:whispering…
Tathi:She just shrugs, but does a little courtsey.
TMG:wait, last line you saw, meany?
Miron:And *now* we should actually charge before she realises.
Dr. Hatari:Okay. Sensory info available? Should we be shutting up in the face of cackling antagonists? :o
Meany:Dr. Hatari: We can't siege a druid in a forest cave behind a wall of smoke. MeanyOwl: Barbie failed the check. Honduras isn't moving unless Kethanis tries. Dr. Hatari: She's immune to siege. :P
Miron:As the smoke clears, Miron does another « 1d20+3 = 9 + 3 = 12 » Spot
Barbarus:« 1d20+4 = 11 + 4 = 15 » Spot. « 1d20+5 = 20 + 5 = 25 » Listen. :o
Freida Briarclaw:The sensory info available to those with low-light or darkvision is that there is a woman sitting on a stone pillar, surrounded by water that has a faint mist curling across its surface. Her eyes are closed, and she appears to be meditating. A humongous black wolf sits nearby, standing guard.
Miron:Oh, i think she's there
Gnogglebolt:Gnome has lowlight :o
- Barbarus relays this information. :O
Miron:Wait a moment, i have a surprise for her
Barbarus:"Hold up."
Miron:She's a magician, right?
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt whispers.
Barbarus:"Something's on fire in here."
Gnogglebolt:"She's just…sitting there."
VAE:preemptive Silence :3
Gnogglebolt:"And there's something very large next to her."
Barbarus:"Less worry about the wolf. More worry about the very large fire directly to our right."
Barbarus:"And…out of the water, there's something in it. :O"
Dr. Hatari:AFK, 2 shakes! Important call.
Barbarus:"Something alive."
Gnogglebolt:"um…right. Everyone with a ranged weapon, get ready to shoot her. Normally I'd ask for surrender, but she's either -clearly- waiting for us and resolved for this battle, or far, far stupider than we've been led to believe. Gnogglebolt kneels down, and sights downrange with his crossbow.
Barbarus:…
Miron:In that case, wait a moment
Tathi:Tathi has her wand ready.
- Barbarus reaches back, and Gibbs slaps Gnogglebolt. >:[
Miron:This should, at the least , mess up their communication
Freida Briarclaw:"Must it come to battle?" the woman asks, projecting down the tunnel.
Gnogglebolt:"Gaaaaar, I knew it."
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt is immobile for a moment. "…Well, if you're entertaining the option, no, not necessairyl." Gnogglebolt calls back.
Gnogglebolt:"You can surrender. We will take you to justice."
Freida Briarclaw:"Come closer. Gimatha will behave herself." The woman smiles and gestures at the cavern around her.
Gnogglebolt:"I honestly don't expect you will actually concede, but there you go."
Miron:Saint Cuthbert, one who listens to the wronged, let their voices overwhelm the words of our damned foes. Silence if i may, centered on the druidess in a 20ft radius, DC 15 i believe
Liatai:… really? :B
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt's crossbow is still leveled, and he's still kneeled.
Dr. Hatari:They do this every fight. Probably really. :B
VAE:400 ft range ithas
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt suddenly snaps at Miron. "NO! wait—"
Gnogglebolt:"Are you -deaf-, Miron?"
VAE:i mean, if anything it will mess up her communication with the beasts
TMG:danman!
VAE:*headdesks*
TMG:We're in the middle of TALKING to her!
Freida Briarclaw:"Such hostility." The woman sighs. "Won't you lay down your weapons and come closer to discuss this?"
VAE:I. Need. Tea.
TMG:Oh. xP
Barbarus:« 1d20+4 = 18 + 4 = 22 » Spot check on that snake.
VAE:Wait.. how canshe still talk?
Freida Briarclaw:"Come, there are ways that we can both benefit from this."
VAE:or did she make a save? or did it never happen?
TMG:because she was talking BEFORE you cast the spell
- VAE is connfused now
TMG:and we're saying it never happened
Liatai:I assumed you didn't take the action.
VAE:but .. sehe still is… OK
VAE:uff
VAE:though, it still might be a bad idea
Liatai:And yes, Barbarus, you see the snake.
Barbarus:"Thomas."
Barbarus:"Don't. Panic."
Miron:Miron stopped, mid-prayer
Liatai:Hatari's AFK. ^^;
Gnogglebolt:"…No, I'm good right here, thanks. As long as we can communicate, proximity is not needed."
Thomas Lazarus:"—I see it."
Barbarus:« 1d20+4 = 6 + 4 = 10 » Knowledge Nature. :o
Miron:No, woman… you come out and tak to us.
Gnogglebolt:"You've hurt a lot of people, miss."
Gnogglebolt:"Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
Miron:We arern't such fools so as to fight you on your own terms.
Gnogglebolt:Crossbow is still leveled. Also readied to fire if -anything- goes wrong.
Miron:Come now, and i promise you a fair trial.
Freida Briarclaw:"I am giving you a chance to resolve this without a fight. Do you not hear me?"
Barbarus:"Just such fools as to fight you in your own home."
Barbarus:"No, the gnome really doesn't."
Barbarus:"He's a bit…special."
- Thomas Lazarus works his jaw slowly. "…"
Gnogglebolt:"I am hearing you, that's the point. So go ahead. What's this 'chance' you're talking about? No guarantees about taking it."
Miron:And how is this "resolution" of yours supposedd to be like?
TMG:barb; -which-gnome?! xD
TMG:Gha!
Thomas Lazarus:"Why! Why are you doing this? What's the point of wanton slaughter? Why did you defect from your grove?"
Freida Briarclaw:"Besides, as you can see. It would take far more effort for me to come to you than for you to take a few steps closer." She gestures at the pillar she is sitting on.
Barbarus:Which gnome indeed.
Barbarus::BTMG:I hate it when people say 'the gnome' nowadays!
Freida Briarclaw:"Wanton?"
Miron:Hm, i suspect by "resolved without a fight" she means killing us by surprise
Miron:*smiles*
Freida Briarclaw:"Poor soul, you don't see. But I would be happy to enlighten you."
Barbarus: (( My knowledge roll produced no info on the snake? ))
- Thomas Lazarus takes a step forward with a small splash.
Barbarus:"Tom, no!"
Barbarus:"That snake's venemous!"
Gnogglebolt:"So go ahead. 'enlighten' us. Why have you hurt people like you do—Thomas!"
Thomas Lazarus:"Maybe it's not wanton then! Maybe it's directed!" He holds his left arm aloft, dangling the rosary he has kept wrapped around it.
Miron:Your people, ,and your beasts ave almost killed us on epeat occasions. If we were to come closer, we'd have o have you raven droppings instead of a brain
Thomas Lazarus:"What's the meaning of it?!"
Barbarus:« 1d20+3 = 9 + 3 = 12 » !
- Freida Briarclaw sighs. "So mistrustful…"
Thomas Lazarus:"What could you possibly hope to get out of killing someone who has done nothing but guide their flock?!"
Miron:… Really? Saint Cuthbert teaches that even under the mantle of righteous can beat the heart of darkness
Freida Briarclaw:"Don't you see? 'Flock.'"
Miron:What then of a person that has overtly opposed us ffor the last week or so?
Freida Briarclaw:"So content, people are… so seperated from the grand dance of predator and prey. They have let themselves fall."
Miron:Seriously , miss… if you think you had a *suggestion* spell going, it has worn off
Freida Briarclaw:"And those that fall… become prey for those that are strong enough to know their place."
Gnogglebolt:"Look, miss. You summon these foul beasts and set them upon innocent villages. You got Granch redmaw's gang into capturing people to be given to you. I'm not hearing any justification, nor am I hearing this vaunted 'chance of peaceful resolution'."
Freida Briarclaw:"You have not let me offer it."
Gnogglebolt:"Yes, I did, but I will again. Let's hear it. What's this 'offer'?"
Freida Briarclaw:"I could only give it to you had you come to the headwaters here… which you have refused."
Miron:You are wrong, for such is the way of chaos.. a way to a short , nasty and brutish life
Gnogglebolt:"…Oh, ha-ha."
Gnogglebolt:"Give me one good reason why I should trust it's not a trap, from our point of view."
Miron:The people of law, civilisation, they work together, producing that which those who kill and devour heir own could never dream of
- Thomas Lazarus trembles slightly. He's seething, and only half-hearing her words.
Freida Briarclaw:"I have not tried to kill you yet, even though you stand in the wolf's den itself."
Barbarus:"She's right."
Freida Briarclaw:"Do you not think I could do so easily?"
Barbarus:"That snake hasn't tried killing us yet."
Miron:And i haven't cast my spell either
Gnogglebolt:"Yes, actually."
Miron:Barbarus… it's called strategy
- Thomas Lazarus snaps his head back to the others. "Ready your counterspells and aim your bolts."
Miron:There arer many books about it n our library
Gnogglebolt:"I do believe you can't kill us easily—yet."
Thomas Lazarus:"I want to hear what she has to say before this happens."
Freida Briarclaw:"Such overconfidence."
Miron:*silently* She's trying to buy time, i think
Barbarus:"Wolf, getting closer."
Gnogglebolt:"So, if your offer can't even be given, it's back to mine."
Gnogglebolt:"Suddender now, or—"
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt looks between miron and Barbarus.
Gnogglebolt:"I suppose that's your answer, then."
Freida Briarclaw:"Gimatha is protective."
Miron:Oh, miss… what about the peacefully looking wolf of yours?
Freida Briarclaw:"She understands your words, and does not like your tone."
Barbarus:"Well, I'm a cat. She wouldn't like me any way."
Gnogglebolt:"last chance, woman. I'm not going to ask again. You may surrender now, or not."
Freida Briarclaw:"Or your scent, as you have slain many of her children."
Gnogglebolt:"Make your choice."
Miron:*sighs* This charade is an insult to anyone's intellect. Her bloody children tried to kill us and our mules
Dr. Hatari:… Oh wow.
Dr. Hatari:I thought Gimatha was a king cobra until like 2 seconds ago. :B
Ghostwish:XPMiron:Look, in the name of the Leaden Mace, i am giving you the last chance.
Freida Briarclaw:The druid sighs… and then the bird seated in front of her flies away as she raises her hands. The swirling mists rise and enshroud her. "So be it."
Miron:Either come out of there, or tell us some justtification for your deeds up to now.
Gnogglebolt:"Vigilant Guardians, fire at will!"
Tathi:Tathi just snorts softly. "Let's kill the bitch."
Barbarus:"I…apologize for my compatriot's seeming mixed motives."
Gnogglebolt:Readied action go!
Freida Briarclaw:« 1d20+2 = 15 + 2 = 17 » initiative!
Miron:You have broken… about 14 laws of Akellonn and various provinces
Barbarus:"They're not used to this professionalism thing. =3="
Gnogglebolt:Attack: « 1d20+5 = 14 + 5 = 19 »!
Thomas Lazarus:Thomas winds his left arm and catches its rosary. He grips the fallen sister's symbol tightly. Init! « 1d20 = 11 »
Liatai:Roll damage — and we're using the same initiative.
Gnogglebolt:And then init: « 1d20+1 = 5 + 1 = 6 »
Dr. Hatari:Ah. Whoops. :B
Tathi:« 1d4+1+1d4+1 = 2 + 1 + 3 + 1 = 7 » magic missile damage!
Dr. Hatari:Disregard init then.
VAE:oh, the nice spell *did * get cast?
Gnogglebolt:ah, « 1d6 = 4 » crossbow damage!
VAE:sweet.. i had it essentially readied then
VAE:oh crap
VAE:it's some mist there
TMG:ah yes, now Miron's silence spell can fire?
Barbarus:"Tom, venemous snake at two o'clock."
VAE:yeah.. he's just witheelding the last words of the prayer anyways
VAE:radius 20 , centered on her
Dr. Hatari:Hm.. I suppose Tom can't do anything since I didn't declare ready. ^^;
Freida Briarclaw:The mist rises… and then Tathi's spell hits. The bolts are deflected by some strange force… but what's the save for Silence?
VAE:i think DC 15
VAE:level of spell 2, his Wis is 3
Freida Briarclaw:What SAVE. XP Fort, Will?
VAE:will
TMG:did any of the NPCs have readied actions to fire, too?
Freida Briarclaw:« 1d20+8 = 18 + 8 = 26 » Will save.
Dr. Hatari:You can target silence on immobile objects and give them no opporunity to save, you know.
Dr. Hatari:Nevermind. :B
VAE:argh!
Freida Briarclaw:« 1d20+12 = 20 + 12 = 32 » Concentration…
VAE:not what i intended
VAE:i wanted to add my area to it too then
Liatai:You centered it on her, it was negated. No area.
VAE:ohDr. Hatari:..Exactly.. x3
- Liatai shoos the spell. Shoo, shoo~
VAE:but it affects everything in there !?
Liatai:Nope.
Liatai:She saved.
Liatai:No spell.
Liatai:Poof.
Liatai:Gone.
Liatai:Bye-bye.
Liatai:Thanks for playing. :B
Meany:You lose!
Ghostwish:*inserts quarters?*
Dr. Hatari:You target it on an object. If the object was a person, they can save negate it. If you target it on a stone and throw the stone, they're screwed.
Meany:Good -day- sir!
Dr. Hatari:Hahahaha
VAE:ouch
VAE:*headdesks*
- Liatai shoos the spell again~
- Dr. Hatari noms Meany for the reference.
Dr. Hatari::BTMG:Heck, it even says you can target and empty point in space
TMG:*an
VAE:i wanted to target it on her general location…oh well… great, i'm aa honking idiot
VAE:I thought you can *only* target spacee
VAE:and so making it obvious ,… *double facepaw*
Dr. Hatari:There are two versions. Targeting them is harder to get rid of, of course, since they can't discard/escape it.
Tathi has received initiative.
Liatai:« 1d20+2 = 3 + 2 = 5 »
VAE:This has to get a *negative* award…. most egregious waste of a spell slot through dumb formmulation
Tathi:Tathi grits her teeth, and aims for the cobr- er, wolf instead! Melt it, or you shall perish.
Ghostwish:Erk, wrong copy paste XD
Tathi:« 1d4+1+1d4+1 = 1 + 1 + 4 + 1 = 7 » magic missile damage!
Dr. Hatari:You didn't have an encyclopedic knowledge of a 3.5 spell. That's nothing to fret about. All of us make mistakes every session. ^^;
Miron:Miron facepalms… ^^' Now… this wasn't exactly the smartest use of that spell…
Tathi:And then she moves to make her less likely to get kerblewied by a spell.
Tathi:End turn!
Liatai:Question. Is force damage subject to damage reduction? And roll a caster level check, Tathi.
VAE:Hatari… i did it with the EFFING PHB OPEN IN FRONT OF ME
Dr. Hatari:It is not.
Dr. Hatari:VAE: Oh. :.
VAE:i mean, how much *worse* does an error get
TMG:Nope. If DR is versus a material, any magic automatically bypasses it
TMG:for example, DR/adamantie is also bypassed by any energy damage
Liatai:Ghost?
Liatai:Caster level check. :3
Dr. Hatari:Force damage would be subject to energy resistance … well … if there were energy resistance against force. None canonically exists.
Tathi:DURNIT. XD
Tathi:« 1d20+5 = 14 + 5 = 19 » caster check, evocation!
VAE:the whole purposee of the spell was to get her down from the bloody thing
VAE:oh well, i can cast one more
Gimatha:The spell slams into the wolf's hide, but it seems to pay little heed.
Meany:Cast it on her danged shoes!
Meany::BEdaric has received initiative.
VAE:go to arse,owl… i know i am a medical idiot
TMG:Possesed objects get saving throws, I believe ^^;
TMG:that's the usual rule
- Liatai pokes Tech. Bard time. :B
Dr. Hatari:There is a lulzy story involving silence I will tell some time. Now is not that time.
TMG:ah!
TMG:Sorry
Dr. Hatari:x3Edaric:Lute, and inspire courage once more!
Edaric:end turn
Kethanis Whitebranch has received initiative.
Faerie:The snake. Should we be worried about that?
Dr. Hatari:I'm not, really. It could probably bite someone without metal legs, though. We'll see.
- Kethanis Whitebranch has a serious, calmly angry expression on his face, if anyone happens to be looking.
Dr. Hatari:Oh! Now might be a good time for entangling that horrible deathbeast in the back. While we buff and trim lesser minions. ^^;
Dr. Hatari:As long as we don't end up timing it so it impedes us in the final approach, too. :B
- Faerie thinks
Faerie:Ah, yes.
Faerie:…
- Faerie has never cast a spell before. Is a d20 action?
Dr. Hatari:No variables. Just target, boom.
TMG:the target, however, may make a roll
VAE:hatari, not quite.. .lotsa spells do need a roll
Dr. Hatari:Atleast, Kethanis' spells rarely have variables.
VAE:it dependss what he's castin
Dr. Hatari:Right.
Meany:Also.
Meany:Don't forget the fire. :B
VAE:also, theres' no bloody way i am using b85 for my game
TMG:if you're not sure, read the spell description in the PHB
VAE:i am beginning to hate it with meh essence
Dr. Hatari:Fire… I'm sorry, I must have missed it.
Dr. Hatari:What fire, Meany?
VAE:annd now i soundlike the owl
Meany:Barbie told y'all, of a huge fire down the east pathway. :O
TMG:danman; stop complaining to us and post on the RPtools forums! They may be able to fix it
Kethanis Whitebranch:Kethanis thiks it might be a good idea to hold the rather large, angry looking wolf sort of thing back. And so casts entangle upon it.
VAE:yesh, right, they might be able to fix it in how many versions ?
Gimatha:The wolf snarls; « 1d20+7 = 2 + 7 = 9 »
Dr. Hatari:Score.
Gimatha:And is held fast!
TMG:Uh, ONE?
TMG:I've been watching the threads!
TMG:Someone reports a bug, they fix it!
Liatai:Guys.
Dr. Hatari:C'mon.
TMG:yes, sorry lia
Liatai:Please take MapTool version discussion to IRC.
TMG:danman, just stop brining it up here
Liatai:You too, Tech.
VAE:yeah, because it's not like it isn't annoying me all th time
Liatai:« 1d20+4 = 2 + 4 = 6 »
Liatai:« 1d20+4 = 19 + 4 = 23 »
Liatai:« 1d20+4 = 1 + 4 = 5 »
Freida Briarclaw:« 1d20+4 = 1 + 4 = 5 »
Dr. Hatari:Perhaps we'll get lucky and Freida will fail a concentration check thanks to the entangle? ^^;
Freida Briarclaw:The vines snake along every surface; from under the water, up the pillars, along the walls! They shrink a little from your foe's aura of mist, but manage to hold her, her wolf, and all but one raven firm.
Dr. Hatari:Well.. DC 15.. Ehhhn.. probably not happening. ^^;
Istral:The snake bites at Thomas! « 1d20+4 = 3 + 4 = 7 »
Briarclaw Druid:And a woman steps around the corner, hands blazing with bright flames.
- Thomas Lazarus doesn't deign to move out of the way. Little snake you have been DISSED.
Briarclaw Druid:« 1d20+3 = 9 + 3 = 12 » ranged touch attack on Thomas for « 1d6+2 = 3 + 2 = 5 » fire damage!
Briarclaw Druid:She hurls a ball of flame through the air straight toward the priest!
Dr. Hatari:Hm. Tom did have a full-defense upon entering the cave.. but that has probably exited play post-discussion.
- Thomas Lazarus takes a wad of flaming atmosphere to the chestplate! "Tsschh!!"
- Freida Briarclaw raised an eyebrow at the vines… before quickly becoming ensnared. She pushes some vines aside… « 1d20+12 = 6 + 12 = 18 » Concentration check!
Freida Briarclaw:From outside the cave, you can hear the wind starting to pick up as she chants…
Gimatha:The wolf, meanwhile, starts trying to tear plants out by their roots. « 1d20+5 = 18 + 5 = 23 »
Fiendish Raven 1:The one free raven attempts to fly away.
Aelian has received initiative.
Aelian:The ranger takes aim at the newly appeared druid, and lets fly! He fires off a quick volley! « 1d20+7 = 2 + 7 = 9 » for « 1d8+1 = 5 + 1 = 6 » and « 1d20+7 = 11 + 7 = 18 » for « 1d8+1 = 4 + 1 = 5 »! (bardsong)
Aelian:And then takes a five foot step, trying to break up this cluster of 'please kill me' PCs.
Ghostwish:afk, bio. :>
Briarclaw Druid:One arrow hits the druid square in the thigh.
Thomas Lazarus has received initiative.
Thomas Lazarus:Concentration « 1d20+8 = 20 + 8 = 28 »
Liatai:Divine conviction!
Thomas Lazarus:"..The time is night to avenge what has been lost and see to the protection of this land.. please, look over us sister. By your mercy, m'Lord.." Tom's soft chant is punctuated by a sheath of light racing over each and every friendly body present. (Casting Divine Protection. Everyone recieves +1 deflection AC and +1 to saving throws.)
- Thomas Lazarus opens his eyes and advances on the visible druid.
Thomas Lazarus:Probably provoking from snake.y
Briarclaw Hunter:And is promptly greeted by an arrow. « 1d20+5 = 20 + 5 = 25 »
Briarclaw Hunter:Confirm - « 1d20+5 = 11 + 5 = 16 »
Dr. Hatari:Bro'd!
Istral:And snakey. « 1d20+4 = 15 + 4 = 19 »
- Thomas Lazarus staggers back slightly, but the wound was not mortal!
TMG:COME AT ME BRO - part five x3
Briarclaw Hunter:« 1d6+1 = 4 + 1 = 5 » damage!
Briarclaw Hunter:ARROW'D!
Luethil Aellonor has received initiative.
- Luethil Aellonor seems somewhat more concerned with the viper than the priest was. She lunges out of formation and rushes over to smash the thing! « 1d20+7 = 7 + 7 = 14 » « 1d6+3 = 5 + 3 = 8 »
Meany:Is the Tom/Druid action considered a melee yet? :o
Istral:Sploosh! The club hits the water, but no snakey.
Dr. Hatari:Nah. The second druid shot.
Elros has received initiative.
Dr. Hatari:Tom hasn't swung, the first druid cast.
Dr. Hatari:No penalties.
Meany:Hello?
Dr. Hatari:Hello.
Meany:Lagged. :D
Elros:Elros draws his swords, moving to attack the snake as well. « 1d20+8 = 7 + 8 = 15 » and +1 from flanking
Istral:Those swords manage to hit!
Elros:for « 1d8+3 = 3 + 3 = 6 » assuming it hits.
Dr. Hatari:+2 from flankin. ^^;
Briarclaw Druid:"Istral!"
Gnogglebolt has received initiative.
Meany is disconnected.
Dr. Hatari:Hm.
Faerie:Oh, whup. Well, hit anyway. ^^;
Gnogglebolt:Gnogglebolt moves to the side, and is slighty worried that Thomas is so close to the last druid, but goes ahead with his plan anyway. He pulls out the second yellow stone and chucks it.
TMG:aiming for…
TMG:that corner of squares right there
Dr. Hatari:What's the AoE on those thingies?
TMG:10 feet
Liatai:I see it. Roll to see where it lands.
Dr. Hatari:Cool cool.
TMG:AC 5, so ranged attack roll with 20 ft increment…
