Swiftaxes

Current Leader

Big Goblin; Grapmak Swiftaxe

  • This goblin was first encounted playing cards with some other goblins in the common room of the Redmaw cave, and the party walked past him to proceed to Granch Redmaw. After destroying Granch Redmaw's skeleton, negotiations with the remaining goblins in the cave was handled primarily through this goblin, who's name was eventually revealed to be Grapmak. Even though he was bigger than the others, he also seemed one of the more level-headed and reasonable. After negotiations, he actually aided in keeping all the other goblins under control for marching them to the Castleton holding cells. During the goblin's temporary incarceration, he also was instrumental in making sure the other goblins were well-behaved. It was then revealed that Grapmak was the leader of the goblins before Granch had arrived, under the name of 'Strongfist'. Grapmak then assumed his old station, with the new name 'Swiftaxe'. After this, he was also receptive to absordbing the survivors of the Blacksword tribe when they were captured. He spoke on behalf of the tribe at the goblin's trial, and when it was all over and the tribe finally began settling into their new home, Grapmak expressed his gratitude by inadvertently bestowing Gnogglebolt with a new name, 'Virkoth' (Truespeak in Goblin). He is on community service duty with the goblins under him.

Former Redmaws

Second-Cave Goblin; Scrant

  • This goblin was the first encountered. The group was arguing amongst themselves inside the second cave when Sszeyl was struck by this goblin's javelin. Sszeyl immediately knocked the goblin unconscious with a single strike, a humorously effective 'boot to the head'. The goblin was bound and taken to Terri to be watched. He seemed to cause no trouble when awoken, and volunteered to carry Schink on the stretcher, which went without incident. He attended the trial of the Swiftaxes, and is now staying at the apartment with the tribe, and is on community service duty.

Colorfully-Garbed Goblin; Reelo

  • This goblin was encountered at the entrance of the third cave. He immediately shouted "intruder" and was trying to raise an alarm, refusing to listen to calls of parley. He ran off down a hall, but was ultimately incapacitaed by Sszeyl. After the other two goblins in the same area surrendered, all three were bound and brought to Terri. When awoken, Reelo freaked out and had to be calmed down by Gnogglebolt, during which Gnogglebolt learned his name. He was marched to Castleton and dropped off at the courthouse without incident. He attended the trial, and is now staying at the apartment, on community service duty.

Loud Goblin; Brap

  • This goblin was encountered in a room on the top level of the hideout with Rupp when Reelo retreated to them. He was the least incompetent of the three, but ultimately surrendered after being surrounded, surprising Rupp. He was disagreeable and difficult to negotiate with until Rupp agreed to the terms. He, his brother, and Reelo were bound and brought to Terri. When questioned about what remained in the cave, Brap gave an energetic description of Redmaw, but little else useful information.. When the party returned outside, he was found to be sat on by Papa because he apparently tried to escape, and Gnogglebolt took care of the situation. He was marched to Castleton and dropped off at the courthouse without incident. He also seems to have a penchant for thumping other goblins (like Krunk and Crang) on the head when they needed it. Currently, he is at the apartment with the rest, and on community service duty.

Droopy-Eared Goblin; Rupp

  • This goblin was encountered with Brap and Reelo. He was the smartest of the three, using intelligent tactics. However, he quickly fell in line after Brap surrendered. While he was also the most agreeable, he was vert fatalistic, believeing everything to be preordained by 'Maglubiyet's Will'. He also provided some useful information about what remained in the cave, and was also disappointed in his brother's escape attemped. He was transported with the others without incident, attended the trial, and is now staying at the apartment on community service duty.

Sick Goblin; Schink

  • This goblin was found in a sideroom on a bed of staw with Nintrok, coughing and looking in very bad shape, as he was infected with some disease that was rotting his arm and leg. After the goblin tibe as a whole, Gnogglebolt made a stretcher to transport him while Trofim attempted some healing. For the march back to Castleton, he was carried by Nintrok and Scrant, and on arrival, Gnogglebolt ensured he recieved medical attention. Gnogglebolt checked on him several times before the trial. Schink's arm and leg did have to be amputated, but otherwise, he seemed to be recovering well. When the merging with the Redmaws was proposed, however, he was quite fearful, but ultimately got over it. He was not present for the trial, but is now staying at the apartment with the rest of the Swiftaxes. He is exempt from community service.

Robed Goblin; Nintrok

  • This goblin was found in a sideroom with the sick goblin. When encountered, he believed the party was actually a client, and led them straight to Granch Redmaw. After Dosemz was captured, Dosemz was used to ensure tha Nintrok would surrender peacefully. Nintrok is the prophet of the tribe, an apprenticed to Dosemz, the head mystic. He helped Scrant carry Schink on the stretcher back to Castleton. He is one of the more intelligent members of the tribe, and generally as agreeable as Grapmak. As a prophet, he has a fixation on his carved fingerbones, and was downcast while he was separated from them. However, he and Slat did help to set the sting to capture the necromancers. Afterwards, he was one of the people called on to speak at the goblin's trial, while Dosemz was not. He is now staying at the apartment, and is on community service duty.

Female Snaggletoothed Goblin; Irch

  • This goblin was found with three others playing a card game. She didn't say much as the party passed through to meet Granch, though she did stand up in shock when they presented Granch's skull. She's regularly seen near the drunk goblin, Crang, and has a tendancy to smack him whenever he gets uppity about thudrud. Despite being rather rough and punching things being her first solution to a problem, she was taken to Castleton without incident, attended the trial, and is now staying at the apartment with community service duty.

Sharp-Nosed Goblin; Dirk

  • This goblin was found with three others playing a card game. He never said much, not while the party was passing through, and not after they returned with Granch's skull, though he did stand up in shock with the other two still-conscious ones, though he did seem to express some annoyance with Dosemz. He surrendered with the others, and followed them to the room before the pit to ascend to the upper level. He seems to have been quiet since beng taken to the surface. Marched to Castleton and dropped off at the courthouse without incident. Party does not know his name.

Bleary-Eyed Drunk Goblin; Crang

  • This goblin was found among three others at a table playing poker. He was drunk off his rear and said little, although he did laugh uproariously at Derish hitting his head on the low doorway into the room. After the party left, defeated Redmaw, and returned, he was fully unconscious. The other goblins took up the work of carrying him themselves after they surrendered. Seems to be consious and docile up on the surface. Marched to Castleton and dropped off at the courthouse without incident. Party does not yet know his name.

Robed Goblin; Dosemz

  • This goblin was referred to as often locking himself in the storeroom, which was indeed where he was found when Gnogglebolt and Elros went to investigate to find more rope. As Gnogglebolt was disassembling the lock on the door, he yelled words to the effect of "Go away, Drit!", with Gnogglebolt pushing the door open then and revealing himself. Gnogglebolt attempted to engage in dialogue, and while Dosemz demonstrated the ability to speak Common, he cast some kind of mind-affecting spell on Gnogglebolt, causing him to leave the room as Trofim peeked in. Gnogglebolt collected himself and returned, having Elros show Dosemz Granch's skull and stating the surrender terms, to which Dosemz laughed in a manaical fashion. He then appeared to call for some unseen lackeys to take on Gnogglebolt, Elros, and Trofim, but Trofim was quicker, casting his own mind-affecting spell and forcing Dosemz to lie down on the ground, to which Elros pinned him while Gnogglebolt retrieved rope to tie him up. He was then brought to the room before the pit with everyone else. After that, Gnogglebolt convinced him to talk to Nintrok into coming quietly on his own. He seemed to be okay, but attempted escape once on the surface, and Gnogglebolt has retracted the leniency deal. He was in the custody of Trofim for the march to Castleton, but upon arrival, Trofim attepted to abscond with him, but was stopped by Barshal and the Castleton guards. After that, he was successfully dropped off at the courthouse. When Gnogglebolt returned later with Drit and Slat, Dosemz was found in a separate cell. The guard said he was "a biter", but when Gnogglebolt tried to talk to him, he refused to say anything.

Scout Goblin; Drit

  • This goblin has not yet been seen. His name was first mentioned by Dosemz when Gnogglebolt first confronted him. Later, his name was mentioned again during a conversation with Reelo, and it was explained he is the goblin's scout. It was later revealed that the captured masked goblin was Drit.

Nine-Fingered Goblin; Slat

  • This goblin was spotted by Gnogglebolt in the cage room on one last sweep of the cave before leaving. After asking Dosemz about it, Dosemz said any goblins in this room likely answered to Drit. He was left there when Dosemz said there could be up to five goblins in that room. When the party returned, they had a noisy scuffle with a skeleton outside of the cage room before entering it, and found it seemingly empty. Shortly after entering the room, he jumped down from on top of a cage and attacked the party, but was quickly dropped. After the fight was over, he was tied up and eventually taken to the surface to be guarded by Terri. He woke up cursing just as the party was about to march to Castleton. Gnogglebotl explained the situation to him, but initially, both he and the masked goblin refused to budge, provoking further attemps on Gnogglebolt's part to secure their cooperation. The goblin then seemed to translate for the masked goblin, who only made whistling and clicking sounds, and revealed that the masked goblin was in fact Drit, while his own name was Slat. Gnogglebolt eventaully managed to convice both to cooperate. During the march to Castleton, Gnogglebolt conversed extensively with Slat and Drit, with Slat also acting as the translator for Drit the whole time. At one point, Slat was angry with Drit when Drit revealed he knew about the necromancy part of the gang's supply operation while Slat did not, and it took several quick and careful words from Gnogglebolt to calm him down. He was relatively calm the rest of the journey. When the group arrived at Castleton, he was deposited at the courthouse temporary holding area with Drit. Later on, in lieu of better ideas, Gnogglebolt asked him to come along with Nintrok in setting a trap for the necromancers.

Masked Goblin; Drit

  • This goblin was not seen until he joined the nine-fingered goblin in the ambush of the party. He managed to knife Sszeyl in the back, dropping Sszeyl instantly. After Sszeyl was healed by Barshal, Sszeyl grabbed an empty cage and slammed the goblin with it, knocking him across the room and dropping him. He was heavily injured, but was taken care of by Barshal (fortunately, Gnogglebolt convinced him to do that instead of killing them). He and the nine-fingered goblin were ied up and taken to the surface to be watched by Terri. During one of the times Gnogglebolt was checking on them, it was discovered he was only pretending to be unconcious. Gnogglebolt made a small speech to him about his situation, but he was silent. Later on, when the group was getting ready to move out, he and the nine-fingered goblin initially refused to move. When Gnogglebolt further attempted dialogue, he started making odd whistling and clicking noises. At first, it was thought that he was signalling to someone, but it turned out it was his way of speaking, and the other goblin Translated. During this time, it was revealed he was Drit all along, and the name of the other goblin was Slat. Gnogglebolt eventually conviced both to cooperate. During the march, Gnogglebolt conversed extensively with Drit and Slat, while Slat translated for Drit the whole time. Drit told the story of how he lost his voice and thus why he wears a mask. He also gave extensive details on the "supply" operation the gang was running. Upon arrive in Castleton, he was taken to the courthouse temporary holding area with Slat, but then went through an unusual circus with Grapmak. Grapmak made a series of strange gestures to Drit, and when Drit was out in a cell and his bindings taken off, he made a series of gestures to Grapmak, who started choking. Everyone suspected magic, but Grapmak insisted he was fine, and Drit was silent from then on.
