Tharkiel Sunaxissor, more commonly called Tharky, is a traveling storyteller. Originally from the Moscra Desert, he travels the kingdom in search of interesting tales to tell, stopping along the way to help people in need who cross his path. He is most often seen with a well-worn leather-bound book and a pen in his hands, jotting down notes on interesting people and scenarios he encounters. He is a known friend and ally of dragonkind, and frequents the lairs of the magical creatures quite often, learning ancient tales (and catching up on the latest draconic gossip, of course!).
Tharky is often described as being quite talkative and inquisitive, hardly a surprise when one remembers that he is a friend of dragons and is from the desert, where brass dragons are the dominant draconic species. He seems to have connections with most species of metallic dragons; he has mentioned knowing a gold dragon named Austratorix, and is familiar with Alazphraxion and Salishea (although she frightens him somewhat). Despite his relatively young age, especially considering the long-lived creatures he spends a good deal of his time with, Tharky has instructed several students in the bardic arts, including Maximillian Toris and Calrach Lightweave. He met the Vigilant Guardians through the Toris family, and has since taken some interest in their exploits.
While he will travel from one end of Akellon to the other in search of a good story, Tharky is not fond of the coast, mainly because he is terrified of deep water. Drowning is one of Tharky's greatest fears, compounded by the fact that he swims like a stone. Fortunately for him, he always carries a few water-breathing potions, and he has several water-breathing draconic friends… unfortunately for him, said water-breathing friends also tend to have lairs that are wholly or partially underwater. What's a bard to do?
