(also known as the Epic Commoner, The Legendary Peasant, and the King of the Peasants)
One night, shortly after Team Stormblade's first foray into Tarnade Keep, Liatai was creating statistics for NPCs (as usual). Looking through the Dungeon Master's Guide, she located the NPC Classes tables.
(Most characters fall neatly into the usual player classes, but some NPCs just don't quite fit the mold. So, for them, there are NPC classes, which are mostly unsuitable for player characters, yet allow NPCs that don't have extraordinary abilities to have some statistics. The five NPC classes are Adept, Noble, Warrior, Expert, and Commoner.)
These tables showed the potential progression of an NPC class from first to 20th (epic) level. Examining the Commoner table, Liatai made an offhand comment to DaSzab…
"How can you have an epic-level peasant?"
DaSzab responded with the qualities an epic peasant would have; being able to wallow in the filthiest of filth, sowing a field in the blink of an eye, lifting hay bales the size of mountains… The Legend of the Epic Peasant grew from there!
Description
The Epic Peasant is a 20th-level commoner who exceeds at everything a commoner is able to do. He can bake 20 loaves of bread at once without breaking a sweat. He can plow a field in fifteen seconds with his bare hands. He is, quite simply, the Uber Peasant.
So, why doesn't anyone know about him? Simple. He's a peasant. He doesn't save the world or find ancient treasures; he just does his peasantly work.
The Epic Peasant was recently rumored to have six fingers on his right hand, yet this is unproven. Also unproven is the notion that the Epic Peasant is often found in short pants.
