The Ruby Order

An organization of Wee Jas worshipers that includes large quantities of arcanists, especially Wizards. Well known for it's expertise in Necromancy and acting as something of a regulatory commission in regards to it's use. A guild house can be found in any city that has a decent population of Jasids. Has a highly active field operations branch dedicated to eliminating the undead that are deemed to be immoral by their goddess. They often co-operate with the Leaden Mace during such endeavors. They are the authors of the pamphlets Seven Common Misconceptions About Necromancy and Ten Things You Always Wanted To Know About Necromancy, But Were Too Scared To Ask, attempts at redeeming the school of magic in the public eye, or at least preventing people curious about it from selling their souls to demons or something equally stupid.

Has three branches of function:

  • The Regulatory Branch: The best known of the three branches, and effectively the Ruby Order's 'public' face. They are the ones that administer the tests to determine if a Necromancer is competent and ethical. They also function as teachers to those who seek to learn Necromancy from the Ruby Order.
  • The Archivist Branch: The least known branch, this section keeps the records for the other two branches. This section does not actually contain many arcanists of any stripe, but is the support staff for the other two branches.
  • The Field Operations Branch: The second best known of the three branches, and by FAR the most likely to interact with adventurers, the Field Operations branch is responsible for running the Kill Teams that seek out and destroy the remarkably many undead that The Scarlet Witch has deemed to be completely Immoral, as well as apprehend those that create them. The highest ranking members are known to have been grafted with the Eye of Flame, an enchanted Ruby shaped like an eye of the appropriate side, capable of emitting a devastating blast of holy fire, as well as functioning as an eye.
